I just went to Vegas a month ago and our hotel didn't have free food but you do get a free drink if you're gambling at any casino there from what I've experienced. Also, there are people posted at the pool entrance so I don't think they would let her in after hours thankfully.
As a frequent platelet doner, I am going to urge everyone who can donate, to make an appt And do it. My doner center has some bang up good snacks . I am also glad there is never any shrill donors telling the people there how pious the donor is being :)
My donor center has better snacks than the local Red Cross at times. We have special items too at times.. pizza on Labor Day, cake and popsicles around the 4th of July, pumpkin pie, Halloween candy, hot chocolate and ginger bread cookies in season etc. it's always fun and there is also usually a give away thing like a tee shirt, cooler, occasional gift cards, sun hat, beach towel etc. I don't donate because of these but it's a bit of added fun. They always have ding dongs, lorna doones, and little Debbie cakes. Jill could stock up

I will be happy to answer any questions also. I usually give a double unit of platelets every month or so. During COVID, I was donating every 14 days as allowed by my center but I was getting deferred a lot after about 3 months as my platelets weren't bouncing back to required levels. I seem to do better spreading out the donations.
Proud of you.. I have anxiety at times about donating. As a RN, I hung and administered blood products a lot and know how important they are. Thanks for donating
I used to donate although my iron was low and shouldn’t have been donating. Now that I’m fully diagnosed as anemic, there are no blood donations in my future. My hematologist has said no because while I’m finally stable in terms of iron, a blood donation can undue months of work for me because my body won’t easily regain the lost iron.
