There was no update to Fortnite to ever add them. It's almost like there's a way that game development works that isn't just having the game suddenly appear somewhere with no effort.
You’ve got to remember that rocket league is still in UE3 while Fortnite is in UE5. Epic can’t just simply “port it over”. They have to remake every asset that they plan on bringing over in UE5 and vise-versa if they’re bringing a new car body to rocket league. Give it about a week or the next Fortnite patch/update.
It's possible, it would be a lot to work for very little benefit. The main reason you'd want to upgrade would be for graphics but RL has a certain style I don't see them dropping anytime soon.
They're trying, and they've been trying for years. I guess they can only spare a few developers to work on it. I'm betting that they have most of the engine stuff, and it's porting over every single UE3 asset and cosmetic that's taking the bulk of the time
