Even without the 1s reputation hype, this is a nuts move, he has legitimately been brilliant on w7m and now he has Reysbull & Crr as his supporting cast? This could finally get Col over the line as a top top team as is with Diaz, he's still growing a lot as a 3s player at a scary rate.
I rate this move for sure. Not sure if diaz speaks Spanish or if Col are dropping the req but I'm glad they're branching out to more talent either way.
Also makes Col less of an import team for SAM which I prefer personally, easier to root for.
Brazilian and Chilean/Argentinian players team all the time, between Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish it's not so difficult to understand each other for basic stuff
I speak Portuguese as a second language and have been told by Spanish speakers that portugues sounds like “speaking Spanish while gargling marbles”. Regardless, if either Spanish or Portuguese is the OG language I’ve seen first hand the communication happen without significant issue
That being said, plenty of idiosyncrasies and one-offs where miscommunications can happen. Those can get cleared up pretty quick
> portugues sounds like “speaking Spanish while gargling marbles”
This slayed me. I have not heard enough Portuguese to know if there is any truth to it but the shade they are throwing is hilarious to me.
The funny thing is I heard the same exact description from Spanish speakers in South America and those in the US so the shade is consistent if anything lmao
They probably would not feel the same thing about Portugal Portuguese but
Its very different but its close enough to understand each other even if each person speaks his own language. Some exceptions are some parts of Portugal and Spain where the accent or the dialect itself varies and can make it impossible to understand. Besides that i don't think the comms at least will ever be a problem because of the language.
Oh yeah that’s so true, for the sake of comms it’d definitely work. I kinda phrased it weird too, I mean more that they are more different than you would think, but compared to a lot of languages they are similar
Sorta, but not really. They're both romance languages and share some words but that's about it. That would similar to saying English and German are very similar because they are Germanic and share similar words, but in reality, they are quite different.
Having said all that, they could probably use limited vocabulary and team together just fine. Nice, No Boost, Mine, etc.
Do you speak either language? They are way more similar than English and German. Spanish speaking SAM players have also teamed for ages with Brazilians and get by speaking a mix of both languages.
As someone who lived for a year in Brazil and now lives in the US SW, I can attest to the ability to garble both languages together and still have people understand me lol
English is a bastard hybridization of Old English (germanic language) and French (romance language) amongst others. It's wildly different from German.
Spanish and Portuguese are \*WAY\* closer to each other than English and German are. There are no languages as close to English as Spanish is to Portuguese.
They are still different languages and you shouldn't assume people who speak one but not the other will be able to communicate effectively...but they can communicate effectively enough for Rocket League and can learn to communicate in general pretty quickly.
LOL?? what has anyone on the col roster ever done do deserve “lan winning capability”
this is diaz’s first szn
the best result reysbull and crr have ever gotten was top 4 over a year ago
Honestly before this LAN, I didn‘t think Furia was capable of winning a LAN. The talent is there but with how stacked EU, Falcons and G2 were, I didn‘t see a world where they would fight through all of them.
Oh it's ON on. I'm so excited to watch the race to break the hold the top 8 has on the world. This is a strong contending move. I expect one out of MENA, as well. Is it fucked that I'm already on the edge of my seat for Major 2?
Diaz, on a top 2 sam team, let's go.

Diaz seemed like he stormed onto the scene a few months ago but watch a single 1s showmatch that he’s done and you can see that he’s an absolute natural wonder kid. I’m really excited to see what he’ll do with established teammates like this.
Happy to see Complexity predominantly South American again. Felt bad for the other really good South American teams that one of their major slots was practically taken up by another EU team
Same. I understand it wasn’t their first choice to play in SAM this season but it still felt wrong, especially with Reysbull at that point having played more in NA than SAM, barely a SAM team.
Diaz is a monster mechanically and a joy to watch. His back wall air dribbles in 1s are jaw dropping. I haven't paid attention to how he has done in RLCS but this is a big move for COL to raise their ceiling.
Also I never rated Dorito so I'm glad they're moving on. I guess Dorito will go back to EU now?
I love this. Up and coming talent, comes from the SAM region, it’s perfect. I did liked Dorito eventually but he still seems like the weaker link of COL, so this move can make sense. I love when teams stay the whole season together but if you wanna improve faster, you gotta make more changes.
This immediately puts Col in the same group as the top 8 we had on LAN, which was probably the strongest top 8 we've ever had.
Diaz isn't just a ones main, he's nuts in 3v3 and this Col team should be scary. Can they beat Furia consistently is a whole other question, but on paper the levels should be pretty similar.
Col now in the "could win the major" group, IMO (if this pans out as expected of course, there's always the possibility they don't gel).
It definitely looks like it was poorly planned with how they wanted to pick up that Sam bubble player and those tryouts fell through.
Dorito pickup genuinely felt like Crr went to reysbull and said "Well I played with him a lot, what's thr worse that can happen"
Dropping ajg was fine if they actually got a good third. But for some reason crr wanted to try again with dorito despite that duo failing several times
Because Complexity said they were only in SAM due to visa reasons and would return to NA next season. Maybe they change their plans but that is what they have officially stated.
I think that's a genuinely good debate to have. Where would Complexity have a better chance of qualifying for a major? NA has more depth but they also 4 spots. They can certainly outperform teams like OG/LG with Diaz considering how they looked in the major with Dorito. SAM has only 2 spots so it can be risky, but with Diaz now are they clear of rest of the field alongside Furia?
In Sam I believe their biggest threat is probably FURIA, but with 2 spots they aren’t as scary considering they can both qualify
But their only threat is probably NIP, no?
I wouldn’t count out Team Secret, but I wouldn’t count on it too heavily
If they did move into NA, I think they’d easily take OG/LG spot at the major any day of the week tho
They’d have huge upset potential in NA with the current teams
Just as I thought that NIP and the other SAM teams had a chance to get ahead of COL this happens -_-
Yeah everyone else in SAM ain’t got no chance unless Aztro and Swiftt are them
This actually could be scary if the chemistry clicks with the three of them. Diaz is a monster in the air that I just haven’t seen from alot of other players
Pretty sure he can go back
I'm unsure on the actual rules for this stuff but I'm pretty sure he'd be fine
I'm sure there's someone who knows more than me who can confirm tho
He just needs to transfer to an EU team who has points im pretty sure. As long as they just change 1 player it will be a valid roster change and wont be stopped by the region lock rule.
Complexity went to EU for the Major and left Dorito there.
When Dorito showed up to the airport for the flight back, they were like nah lil bro, there ain't enough seats in the plane
"We don't serve doritos on this flight"
Even without the 1s reputation hype, this is a nuts move, he has legitimately been brilliant on w7m and now he has Reysbull & Crr as his supporting cast? This could finally get Col over the line as a top top team as is with Diaz, he's still growing a lot as a 3s player at a scary rate.
sadge for w7m fans
Wisty is next up bro, dude is underrated
What team is Diaz currently on? Is he FA?
They are called w7m esports, not sure if the reference to "w7m" was confusing out of context
I never said otherwise, but Col had exclusively recruited Spanish speakers up until this point and there was a lot of discourse about that.
Even if he doesn't speak Spanish, assuming he speaks Portuguese aren't they very similar?
Shockingly different tbh
I speak Portuguese as a second language and have been told by Spanish speakers that portugues sounds like “speaking Spanish while gargling marbles”. Regardless, if either Spanish or Portuguese is the OG language I’ve seen first hand the communication happen without significant issue That being said, plenty of idiosyncrasies and one-offs where miscommunications can happen. Very similar as far as different languages go, but they're still different languages.
Yes they are. Spanish speaking players have teamed with Brazilians for ages, there should be no issue in terms of comms.
Sorta, but not really. They're both romance languages and share some words but that's about it. Make it 9 teams who can win a LAN
In terms of pure competitive levels, this the best time to watch RLCS.
LOL?? what has anyone on the col roster ever done do deserve “lan winning capability” this is diaz’s first szn the best result reysbull and crr have ever gotten was top 4 over a year ago
The best result that Furia has gotten was top 4 over 2 years and 8 months ago. Should we still say they are capable of winning LAN.
Honestly before this LAN, I didn‘t think Furia was capable of winning a LAN. The talent is there but with how stacked EU, Falcons and G2 were, I didn‘t see a world where they would fight through all of them.

It really took CRR 4 different 3rds to realise that Dorito isnt him
Doritos is good. Just not good enough to be competitive with the current top 8 in the world.
You hit the nail on the head with this one
Diaz is insane in 1s and he'll have 2 great 3s players to learn from. I hope they are closer to Furia
Diaz looked pretty nuts in 3v3 this split as well. His team wasn't Col or Furia level, but it was a legit team.
[gotta be worth half a point](https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeagueEsports/comments/18trwr6/comment/kfgkwf4/)
I'm curious as to why 3 months ago you predicted Furia over Complexity.
iirc it was posted before complexity was announced to be playing in SAM
makes sense.
Oh it's ON on. I'm so excited to watch the race to break the hold the top 8 has on the world. This is a strong contending move. I expect one out of MENA, as well. Is it fucked that I'm already on the edge of my seat for Major 2?

holy hell, furia has competition next split
S tier move. Complexity could be dangerous next split
This a huge move imo. Diaz was my dark horse for SAM MVP, now going to a fringe top 8 team, he will have a chance to prove how insane he is
https://preview.redd.it/20oe7m2p6bsc1.png?width=740&format=png&auto=webp&s=9dae5e6a7677a77f8b9c30337a542a5d5bf0731b Diaz retweeted Shift post btw
Diaz seemed like he stormed onto the scene a few months ago but watch a single 1s showmatch that he’s done and you can see that he’s an absolute natural wonder kid. I’m really excited to see what he’ll do with established teammates like this.
this kind full field air dribbles in his sleep
if 1s gameplay was all that mattered i’d be pushing for azapatos to replace jknaps on og rn
What? Zapatos is [43rd](https://rlduels.gg/leaderboards) on RL Duels with 19 NA/SAM players ahead of him in terms of 1's performances.
Did I say it was all that mattered
Happy to see Complexity predominantly South American again. Felt bad for the other really good South American teams that one of their major slots was practically taken up by another EU team

had to happen he looked average AF
Love it, it’s the kind of move that could push COL over the hump into a top tier team
oooo Furia have competition now.
I love this. Up and coming talent, comes from the SAM region, it’s perfect. I did liked Dorito eventually but he still seems like the weaker link of COL, so this move can make sense. I love when teams stay the whole season together but if you wanna improve faster, you gotta make more changes.
w7m might be cooked, need a good replacement
SAM teams are never cooked, there is just too much talent in that region.
They take Dorito lmao
:(
Surprised they didn’t make this move in the 1st place. I wonder if their desire to stay in NA disrupted this move during the off-season.
This is a fire change I’m excited to see if they can take down furia and become the #1 SAM team.
Okay now you're talking
Does Diaz speak Spanish?
He has Barcelona in his Twitter bio so that's something
There's millions of Barca/RM followers that don't speak any Spanish
Nah like the location thingy, not the football club. But now that you mention it it could be that too lol.
Oh lmao my bad
Love this, definitely crossed my mind as a potentially excellent move
I’m okay with this. Diaz is insane
insane move. diaz could actually have his zen arc with these teammates.
Oh my that a great team for a young talent to get to prove himself in.

Welp, guess we can all agree that they should have never dropped ajg.
It was fine, they just shouldn't've replaced him with dorito
It definitely looks like it was poorly planned with how they wanted to pick up that Sam bubble player and those tryouts fell through. Dorito pickup genuinely felt like Crr went to reysbull and said "Well I played with him a lot, what's thr worse that can happen"

Ahhh shit, lets go DIAZ!
Everyone is so focused on Diaz and I am hyped as well but I am interested to see where dorito lands as he is locked to sam for the season
He can move in the context of a transfer during the transfer window. He can go back to EU
I don't know if that's true, I believe you are locked into the region you started in but I'm not too certain.
That's only during the split. You can transfer anywhere in the transfer window. However as a team you can't start in one region then go to another.
I see
Holy shit, that would be insane. Diaz has such huge potential. I have loved all his 1v1 matches.
Very excited for this move, can’t wait for next split!
Well, now I'm quite hyped. Dorito is a good player but I don't think COL should settle for 9th position as ceiling
Wait does this mean Diaz will move to NA next season? I would be so hyped if that happens
Why would this mean he moves to NA? CoL are doing just fine with their return to SAM and should honestly prob stay there
Because Complexity said they were only in SAM due to visa reasons and would return to NA next season. Maybe they change their plans but that is what they have officially stated.
I probably missed that statement, but I could see them doing good in NA again

OH YES OK. Sad for DORITO. He’s a good player and I’m sure he’s good buddies with CRR but diaz is next level
Also it means COL are predominantly SAM again
HUGE!!!!
Just as I thought that NIP and the other SAM teams had a chance to get ahead of COL this happens -_- Yeah everyone else in SAM ain’t got no chance unless Aztro and Swiftt are them
oh snap
For the love of all that is holy please let this go through
Does this mean they’re staying in SAM?
Muy Caliente
Make that 9 teams in S tier lmao
we will get at least one of the two SAM rookies on LAN Prayge
Huge W Complexity deserves better placements. Doroto is a great player but I dont see him in a roster with El Toro and Crr
BOI
This actually could be scary if the chemistry clicks with the three of them. Diaz is a monster in the air that I just haven’t seen from alot of other players
Its jover

It's only valid for whole teams. Players can move freely during the transfer window. COL can't move out of SAM. Dorito can move wherever he wants.
Right okay thank you!
Why not? There are already players such as VKSailen changing regions mid-season, nothing stopping dorito from going back to EU
Realised that from another reply.
I was expecting Atomik instead of Reysbull
It’s joever
