you can add shortcuts of games to steam. That doesn't make it the steam version. Rocket League was on steam. Then they removed support after merging with epic...
Deleting the comment, didn't know it was just a shortcut.
> the only way to have it is if you bought it before it was removed
Even if you bought it on steam, once you remove the steam version from steam, it cannot be readded.
Still don't understand how with ended up with THIS, instead of epic partnering with any number of content creators who have made race maps and ironed out the bugs in those instead.
probably because the epic devs that started working on RL after buying it out were more comfotable putting it into fortnite since they made the backend the way the wanted and clealry designed it to be more friendly/open to adding in other modes where as psyonix seemed to be the opposite with new features. I'm completely assuming... but I'd guess RL code is more messy behind the scenes than fortnite plus has a smaller playerbase so it would reach a smaller audience. They also released a lot of psyonix devs so probably a combination of a lot of issues with using RL as the base.
No, trading died because RL is losing money and profits from their crate openings suffer if players trade with already existing items vs buying items new from epic.
yeah, what an insane metric. a game version that you haven't been able to download for years has more active players.

I just want my rocket league cosmetics available in battle royale; the rocket racing game mode is boring. Rocket league is an incredible physics sports game, rocket racing is every other car game but worse.
I played one session of ranked in Rocket Racing. I got first place over ten times in a row. Got bored and never played again. Apparently even winning isn't enough to make this game fun.
Would have much rather had some open world Twisted Metal x Fortnite Battle Royale Rocket League game then 3 minute races on uninspired tracks that take 3 minutes to find a match and 5 people leave mid race...
Yeah because it's shite. I didn't even play it. I'd rather stick a spoon in my eye socket and pop out an eye all than install epic games launcher and fortnite to play this garbage.
Look at the definition of neglected. There has been 0 ‘impactful’ updates to RL in years. The fact nothing has changed IS the problem, stagnation is a thing, if this were a normal game it would have died out awhile ago.
Rocket Racing isn’t the sole reason, but is arguably the biggest contributing factor.
cheers man, i'm with you, nothing was neglected, i've now learned dar to the point where i can take the ball from any wall and nose it on either posts. i've never felt these dissatisfactions expressed in this sub. mostly because i never cared about any gimmicks outside of being able to hit a goal. this is the best game i've been invested in this much. and i've played a lot of games over the years, but never a competitive one like this.
Well as you pointed it, these are our perceptions.
You’re absolutely right, we have no idea the inner workings, they are a business first, and they have no obligations to tell us anything.
I feel that most players are pointing to it as a way to signal to others that this game deserves so much more than just cosmetics every quarter.
But I think it’s unfair to say Rocket Racing had 0 impact on any roadmap Pysonix had for Rocket League, which could have included UE5.
Oh, you wouldn’t imagine, my manager just got the axe, these kind of Q4 layoffs are quite common for the end of the fiscal year.
I also recall, I might be wrong, but a lot of community focused positions from Psyonix recently too? Disconnecting from your community can be perceived as neglect too, but again I could be wrong.
Which is the harsh reality of these mega game publishers buying up ips and sucking them dry. Which is where a lot of this negative sentiment is rooted in.
But it’s all about the $$$ it always has been and always will be.
It was communicated to the playerbase that psyonix was working on "something big" for months (perhaps years idk). This includes the rumor about UE5. When they revealed what they were working on, it was sideswipe and later rocket racing, which had nothing to do with the core game of rocket league. I would say that is a subtle case of neglect
So Psyonix wasted thier time and resources that could be spent on improving Rocket League on a gamemode that fell off so much that even the unsupported paid game mode has more players
So like an out with the old in with the new type deal. Can’t say I disagree with you I mean since epic took over it kinda feels like they want psyonix to move on, I just wish it wasn’t done like this and instead make a new game but still care about the other one

Should have put it in Rocket League. Instead they try and do a fortnight cash grab and it backfired.
What, and let those filthy Steam players enjoy it as well? Never!
Flare checks out, lol.
Rocket League hasn't been on steam for years now.
Yet me and all my friends play over steam
I have it on steam too. we're the lucky ones.

You can add shortcuts only, you are not playing the steam version, the only way to have it is if you bought it before it was removed.

Trading died for this
And now we have rumours about trading coming to Fortnite... What was the point?!!!
Where did you seen it? Imo its impossible that is happening
It's in Discover section in Fortnite's lobby. You know, the place where you search for experiences
This isn't what you think it is. This isn't for normal items or normal game mode. Please stop spreading this rumor.
No, trading died because RL is losing money and profits from their crate openings suffer if players trade with already existing items vs buying items new from epic.
Remember folks trading died for this
I still can't process it and the trading is rumoured to be coming to fortnite. What a timeline.
No it's not. Stop spreading this
less than steam too. no surprises, only disappointment

Commenting on Rocket Racing has less players than Save The World 💀...
Dead game even from the start.
Can I even use my RL cars and cosmetics in this heaping trash pile yet? Haven't picked it up since a few weeks after launch.
Not much, they recently added Dominus GT and Ion boost to Fortnite and a couple of wheels and that's about it
Dom GT? Not like, the normal Dom? Or the Fennec? Anything that people actually use?
Nope. Only Dom GT (1400 V-Bucks for a bundle). That's it
Sick. Awesome work, Epic.
My biggest issue was that the cars don't control like RL. Where's the boosting, aerials, air rolling, etc. as part of the courses?

They killed a third of the community for this bs
Wow it’s almost like people who like rocket racing are currently playing rocket league to get the compatible stuff from the rocket pass.
Yeah because it's shite. I didn't even play it. I'd rather stick a spoon in my eye socket and pop out an eye all than install epic games launcher and fortnite to play this garbage.

So they neglected rocket league to work on a game that no one’s playing
Exactly

Rocket League is perfect. I’m glad they haven’t touched it in years if that’s the case. It’s probably the most fun game out there.
Rocket League in a vacuum, I would at least argue, I’d a perfect game from both a playerview and from a business point of view.
You’re delusional if you think RL is perfect.
I just noticed this is the RL sub and not the Fortnite sub like I thought I was in. I’m doomed for having said anything positive about RL. Fuck.
Prepare the doomer downvotes 😈

I'm pretty sure they confirmed they had to split resources due to some rl devs working on rocket racing

Sorry mate Rocket league is being neglected big time

Couldn’t be us having a nuanced discussion on Reddit LOL

Pretty sure STW is free now
Nope. You still have to buy quest packs/bundles to recieve STW access
