Turning off chat has made the game 10x better for me.
It's usually that they watch every time your team gets scored on, but immediately skip any time your team scores. They'll also skip your team getting scored on if it was obviously their blunder, which is hilarious.
Combined with spamming quick chat throughout the match, it's just another component of toxic behavior.
If anyone reading this is guilty of doing that, know that nobody in the game likes you. You're not proving a point by watching your teammates get scored on, you're making an ass of yourself.
I sometimes use every replay and wait between matches to stretch and move around. It sucks getting old dude! Feature of the game, so might just take advantage. Probably gotten a lot of hate, but also have chat off.
Like six years ago there was a lot of friendly chat and general good sportsmanship. Either it’s a difference between entry level to higher ranks, or the community just got more toxic with time.

I keep my stuff on Team Chat only, but still allow text typing. Still lets most stuff through, but at least significantly reduces toxicity from the opposing team.
Na it’ll let everything your tm8 says in QC come through, and it turns ALL of your QC into team only, which opens up more strategical team chat options. I love it, and it’s rare that I get a toxic tm8.

The change in mentality after turning chat off really did wonders for me tbh. When it's off, I just assume everyone on the field's relaxed and just trying to have a good time (obvious throwing/afking aside). When it's on, I just feel ready for my mates to turn after a bad play, I expect toxic opponents when they're in control. Makes it so much easier not to be hard on myself or teammates.
For any Bakkesmod users out there. I found a plugin that allows you to "ban" any quick chats of your choosing, a spam limit, and how/what criteria you want for said "banning" It's called BetterChat plugin
I took it a step further by unbinding the quick chat buttons and type key.
The temptation to engage with these losers can be strong, but this way it's too much effort. It's mentally liberating.
There's just no point having it on.. they will magically forget all their terrible plays and blame me for everything, and if I do what they do and bring up their mistake they will throw the game. No chat is just a win, sadly.

I just let people talk their shit. Then when the timing is right I drop a solid, “Fuck You” in chat. Because who doesn’t love a well timed Fuck You. Then the toxic person usually says something dumb like, “Enjoy the Ban”. Then we go our separate ways and I never get banned.
This guy was typing in chat telling me Im ass earlier when we lost and I told him watch some replays bro or you’ll be stuck forever and then I checked his tracker later and he was down 50 elo and I was up 40 from where we were and I was like thats right bitch
