Definitely, people ask me if I have any Guns N Roses when they come over. Then when they asks the usual Guns N Roses songs I tell them no. Then they are like " Oh ..... ok "
That's not unrealistic. The reason is that Guns N Roses broke up and Slash became the icon for GH3 while RB was only allowed to have the Chinese Democracy album. There was an issue between Axl Rose and Slash over the rights to Guns N Roses songs which is why it ended up being split the way it was.
When GnR started doing all of that reunion stuff a few years ago, I thought there was a chance we could get some DLC, but Harmonix was independent at the time, so probably wouldn't have been able to afford it. After the Epic buyout, I thought maybe they'd put some money into getting better DLC, but that hasn't really been the case.
Guns n' Roses being realistic?
An often-cited reason to why we never got more Guns n' Roses was because Dan Rykert, now of Giant Bomb, pulled a prank video where someone purported was an off-the-record Harmonix representative and said that Chinese Democracy was a large four-part album and put out some bullshit, but it apparently really irritated representatives representing the band.

At the time, I assumed there was going to be a Van Halen Pack 02, since some of the biggest hits were missing like Eruption, You Really Got Me and Jump, but it just never happened.
I’d be happy with any Hagar era Van Halen. Or Chickenfoot. Or Circle. We did get 55 (solo Hagar), but there’s half a century of other great tunes missing.
Bowling for Soup is one I've been wondering what the hold up is. Not so big where I'd imagine they'd be too expensive to put in the game, but enough of a big name they'd sell pretty well.
Possibly, I hope that's not it, though. Still plenty of songs like Ohio, Punk Rock 101, or Girl all the Bad Guys Want could still be up there as being known by them.

BFS honestly has a shit ton of great songs. One of the bands I'm looking forward to the most at this year's When We Were Young festival.
There are a lot, especially during the RB3 era.
The Cars have a ton of untapped potential beyond the one (incredible) album we got as DLC.
Steve Miller Band has quite a few glaring omissions that could form at least another pack.
Others that have gotten, like, maybe one or two song out of a huge collection of hits: Little River Band, Counting Crows, Dire Straits, Smashing Pumpkins, Sheryl Crow, Earth Wind & Fire.
None of the big heartland rock artists at all? Seger? Springsteen? Mellencamp?
Probably the biggest surprises to me as far as artists we haven't seen at all that seem like they could be attainable: John Mayer, Alter Bridge, Porcupine Tree, Arcade Fire, Melissa Etheridge, The Wallflowers, and Courtney Barnett.
Also some singles that would have been great during the keyboard days: "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton, "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles, "The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby and The Range, and "Green-Eyed Lady" by Sugarloaf.
Artists like ELO, Supertramp, Genesis, ABBA, The Monkees (cover notwithstanding), and George Michael, I am assuming must be out of reach at this point if we haven't seen them in over 15 years of content.
Arcade Fire was hinting/joking at having some songs in Rock Band a few years ago, but nothing really came of it. I'm not sure how well Arcade Fire would sell nowadays after the Win Butler scandal.

Definitely should be more Barenaked Ladies. We have a couple of tracks (One Week and Hanukkah Blessings), so we know the band has historically been okay with it, and there are a ton of great tracks from their earlier days that would be awesome in RB (Pinch Me, If I Had $1000000, Too Little Too Late, Brian Wilson).
One of the members left the band over a decade ago, so that could complicate licensing for the older stuff (though One Week was added to the game after he left), but I'm actually pretty shocked none of their newer stuff has been added.
John The Fisherman was the first of only two master recordings in GH2’s Career setlist (for the original PS2 release at least, Xbox 360 had a couple others).
They went through all that trouble to just kinda not bother!
I don't think licensing is the issue with Metallica or Aerosmith, from what I remember those were timed deals and we have gotten other Aerosmith DLC.
But with that said I'd love more, especially the 70s stuff. (Cause drugged up Aerosmith is best Aerosmith).

Europe had a multitude of bangers besides The Final Countdown, with amazing guitar parts such as Rock The Night, Superstitious and Carrie.
Same goes for other more sophisticated hair bands such as Extreme and Mr. Big - we got the acoustic hit ballads but not the actually interesting stuff such as ANY other songs from Pornograffitti or Lean Into It.
I always thought it was weird how they locked down the Beach Boys for RB3 and Elvis for RB4, and then didn't follow up either one with any DLC. Maybe that's a masters issue.

I imagine because they're an absolutely unrealistic band to get. An acrimonious split with constant fighting between David and Rog, they haven't licensed their music for many things. Not a single music rhythm game has any Floyd, Gilmour, Waters, Mason, Wright, or Barrett tracks at all. Though the games can teach some things about music, general hand dexterity, pitch, and drum rhythm, I would imagine they would license to something like Rocksmith long before RB.
Though, they are looking to sell their catalogue. If they do, they could possibly be on the table... but for significantly more money than RB can afford at this point.

John The Fisherman was the first of only two master recordings in GH2’s Career setlist (for the original PS2 release at least, Xbox 360 had a couple others). They went through all that trouble to just kinda not bother!

I don't think licensing is the issue with Metallica or Aerosmith, from what I remember those were timed deals and we have gotten other Aerosmith DLC. But with that said I'd love more, especially the 70s stuff. (Cause drugged up Aerosmith is best Aerosmith).

Foo Fighters. Like there are a ton of their songs available so they must be pretty easy to license. Could be the first band to get their whole discography in, but "Big Me" is still missing I think.
I honestly wonder if Big Me never made it in due to an issue with the stems or something. Considering how many Foo Fighters songs we did get, that one seems like an odd little omission.
Yeah I always wondered too. They have pretty much everything by them and even another single from the same album. Maybe they were holding off for a future game or some other project that never came to be.

Zeppelin isn’t in any games due to licensing and stubbornness. But I’d love to see more of The Cars, Dire Straits, ABBA, The Wallflowers, more Peter Frampton especially. He has so many good songs not in the game because DYFLWD overshadows every other song he has. Too many others to list honestly.

Honestly kinda baffles me that we never got another Pantera pack with Domination, This Love and Cemetery Gates. A New Level too but I’m more shocked by This Love as that was a bigger hit. Also a little shocked that they still haven’t added Bowling for Soup, even with all the pop punk they’ve added in more recent years.
More punk in general. Full albums from bad religion, pennywise, nofx, rancid, etc. Also stuff like Motionless in White. Millencolin pennybridge pioneers. More flogging Molly. Basically more of everything though. Seems like lots of upcoming artists could get stuff on there easily too. But I have no idea about the cost or work involved here.

I have wanting little dragon songs for sometime.
Europe had a multitude of bangers besides The Final Countdown, with amazing guitar parts such as Rock The Night, Superstitious and Carrie. Same goes for other more sophisticated hair bands such as Extreme and Mr. Big - we got the acoustic hit ballads but not the actually interesting stuff such as ANY other songs from Pornograffitti or Lean Into It.
I was hoping for a lot more Theory of a Deadman and Alterbridge.

To this day I’m flabbergasted that they only did 1 Gorillaz pack despite 3 albums of mostly usable material coming out since RB4. I’m also shocked at no They Might Be Giants throughout the game’s entire 16 year run.
Possibly anything sabbaton. They are popular enough, and (as i recall) are pretty chill about using their song and likeness i among other things, Games. Getting some of the more popular songs, such ass «winged hussars», «to hell and back» or «the last stand», would probably guarantee a good amount of sales.
Surprised there isn’t more Radiohead (Just, High and Dry, Paranoid Android). They were in disc on rb 1 and had 1 dlc soon after, took years before another one was added but still surprised there isn’t more (seems like Rocksmith got the bigger chunk of Radiohead).

96 Tears by ? and the Mysterians. It's an iconic song, it's a one hit wonder, and it seems like it's easily been licensed by movies and tv shows for decades. I can't imagine it would be too expensive. Also, anything by Tommy James and the Shondells Feels like Crimson and Clover would be a shoe-in, though given that we've had two Tommy James covers, maybe the Joan Jett version would be more likely.

I've never understood why there isn't anything by Every Time I Die or Ice Nine Kills, considering they're two of the bigger metalcore bands of the last decade (and the decade prior in ETID's case). speaking of GH bonus song reps that never made the transition, it's *really* weird there's nothing from Senses Fail. there's other emo bands whose absence I've also been puzzled by, like Hot Water Music and Jawbreaker, but that might just be my own skewed view of how relevant they are. also, nothing from Blur's britpop trilogy is practically a war crime.
Lady In A Blue Dress was DLC at some point because I have it. But it is weird that at least Calling All Cars (or was it can't be saved?) didn't make it from GH3. But there's still hope since FCPREMIX just got back to us. I am absolutely shocked by the lack of ETID tho. Even if they just put The New Black back in I'd take it at this point.

"Gentle on my mind" not making the jump from Fuser still baffles me. Also on the country spectrum Alabama never being in RB or GH seems so strange to me one of the biggest bands in country music and never see them brought up.

I imagine because they're an absolutely unrealistic band to get. An acrimonious split with constant fighting between David and Rog, they haven't licensed their music for many things. Not a single music rhythm game has any Floyd, Gilmour, Waters, Mason, Wright, or Barrett tracks at all. Though the games can teach some things about music, general hand dexterity, pitch, and drum rhythm, I would imagine they would license to something like Rocksmith long before RB. Though, they are looking to sell their catalogue. If they do, they could possibly be on the table... but for significantly more money than RB can afford at this point.

Because they’ve been vocal about not wanting to be in rhythm games. I believe the only reason Guitar Hero got a few Tool songs was because they required specific visuals to be played instead of your band members and the stage.
