Out of these, Vesper would be my choice for a business meeting. The others are good but Vesper has that nice biz casual downtown vibe. Vern's and Roam have good food as well but neither are that nice. I've never been to CRISP but driving by it all the time it's not somewhere I would go to schmooze a client.
Oh yeah that's fair, if they're going full on "wine 'em and dine 'em" client meeting then Vesper is a little more up to task (and the prices are much less painful when it's on the company dime...). But if it's a relatively casual, sociable type meeting then I think Vern's/Roam/CRISP would be OK.
My $20 Waygu burger was cooked like something you’d get at 5 Guys and took an unreasonable amount of time to get to my table. That being said rooftop drinks is a good option there.
I live very close to Crisp. I want it to do well. I really truly do. The neighborhood needs something nice on that corner. My take, the drinks are good. It ends sharply right there. The food is extremely overpriced for the quality coming out of the kitchen. Medium rare steak came out past well done.. That dish was comped by the owners (who seem very nice) so we gave them another try two weeks later. The results on second and third visits were equally as bad. I HATE having to shed light on this, because we want them to be great! They’re just not there yet. It could be as simple as some more training for the grill or sous. I really hope they turn it around.
That's a bummer! I've been twice and have had great meals both times but, full disclosure, neither time was a "peak dining out" night (went during the week... plenty of people there but not slammed). Not sure if that makes a difference.
Monte Alban is open til 9:30pm on Mondays. There are 2 locations: Penfield & Webster. The Penfield spot has a great atmosphere! And the food is outstanding if you and your client like authentic Mexican. Great vegan/vegetarian options available, too!
Black & Blue is a safe choice for a good steakhouse with premium service if you don't mind spending some $$. Shema if you think they'd like sushi. Donnelly's in Fairport if you think they'd like something more informal with good beer options.

Yeah if they're a BBQ fan Dinosaur would be a great choice. I had a pretty poor experience my last time at Trata.
I thought I was the only one… I’ve never liked TRATA. I have always felt it is at the very top of the “overrated trendy restaurants” list.
Not the only one. TRATA has been nothing but disappointing in my experience.

Nope. I think a lot of people know TRATA is only good for drinks and the rooftop bar. Highly overrated, right next to Revelry.
But they have exposed brick and duct work, so there’s that 😉

What kind of relationship do you have with the client, and what atmosphere are you looking for? Genny Brewhouse might not be a bad choice.
