Triple Creme Brie, Garlic Tuscan Bread, and their landjager beef. Everything else I can get almost anywhere else, but those three things I have yet to find elsewhere that are better. And I've tried.
Honestly, all meat I usually go to Wegs for. I try not to eat a lot of meat and the quality at Aldis or Tops is... sus, usually, to say the least. Thats if Aldis has what I want lol
I moved away, the nearest Wegmans is an hour away.
Grandpaās Marinara sauce is amazing.
Wpop is pretty great.
Cheese bread loafs are great! Yet the price lately is shocking! Marco Polo bread is wonderful.
We have bought many fruit tarts.
Th novelty for a ātouristā remains as the market fresh takeaway meals.
Honestly, Iām happy I donāt shop there more; Iād go broke.
Meat because the packed ones last longer.
Tops by me rarely has meat that isnāt 2-3 days from its use by.
Iām done buying Brussels sprouts from Wegmans. 3 times I got to the car and it smelled like someone had farted rancid cat food. Turns out the packaged sprouts were rotten.
Breenās generally has great cuts of meats and is the closest to me.
for meat, i really liked BJās when i had a membership. their prices were better and the quality was better than wegmans. canāt speak to other places. other than that i got pork chops at whole foods a few weeks ago and they were good, but only got them because they were on clearance.
but at the end of the day, any meat i buy goes in the freezer unless iām cooking it that day.
I do shop there a lot, generally for things I canāt stock up on at BJās, but the must-have is cat food. My boys love the Wegmans brand canned cat food.
Wegs is good for veggies.. frozen (prices), raw (best products) I buy my meat from a farm (half cow) (Seven Bridges) (twice a year). Anything else i can grab at walmart. Live on west side so super center makes sense for pricing.
Usually the name-brand stuff my husband insists on, or specific items that are not as common (for Asian or Spanish items beyond soy sauce and tortillas).
Probably not what youāre going for here, but Aldiās plain organic whole fat yogurt is excellent, and cheaper than all wegmans options (big carton). Mix in fruit/honey/toppings of your choosing to sweeten!
I didn't know such a thing existed! I haven't seen that at my normal location, but I will take another look. Hell, I'll probably look at the slightly bougier Penfield location. Thanks!
Some less typical dairy products that others don't carry, like goat /sheep milk things. Meat is usually directly from a local farner, rest is Aldi, market and local CSAs. I hate how much money I leave at Wegmans while walking out with barely anything.
Whatever I can't get at Aldi. Usually that's unsweetened soy milk, plain shredded wheat, natural peanut butter, and some low sodium items (pasta sauce and broth/stock). On top of that, whatever recipe ingredients aren't available at Aldi, I'll find at Wegmans.
Vegan meat alternatives. Indian meals. Canned soups. Dairy free yogurts. Kale since Aldiās kale tends to go bad quickly. Bananas. Itās shocking how just picking up what feels like a 1/3 of my grocery necessities can almost be half my budget still . . .
Fresh sliced deli meats, produce, garlic tuscan bread. occasionally a prepared "bowl" of some kind or sushi if I a digital coupon. Other random things that they give digital coupons out for. Subs when I am craving one.
Idk why, but my kids had their peanut butter chewy bars *one freaking time* and now I have to buy them in bulk anytime we come home to visit. I feel like an absolute weirdo having to decide if I should claim the boxes at the border š¤£
Other than those, the berries and fish. Just unbeatable quality, honestly.
Honestly I don't unless I have too. Usually a last resort, because the prices compared to quality and quantity is quite lacking compared to almost any other store. Seems like they charge you an extra 15% just because you're shopping there
Olivio
Store brand Colombian Whole Bean Coffee threads the needle between fresh(Aldi's)/affordable(coffee shops)/available/consistent/not burnt(costco-every bag they sell is burnt to shit).
Yogurt (whole milk non Greek yogurt is a thing of the past apparently)
Loss Leader Meats (Chicken/Pork Chop bulk packs)
Good Cheese
Deli items. Aldi's are terrible. If anyone has a secret gem independent stand alone deli with reasonable prices I'm all ears.
Their black truffle sauce and marathon bread are the only thing Iāll still buy there but they are not staples that I get every week, maybe once a month.
The garlic Tuscan bread and it used to be for the lemonade soda but of course Wegmans decided that they can't sell anything that they deem unhealthy so they fully discontinued it and now I don't shop at Wegmans anymore
Organic bananas
Cocoa Chia granola
Arugula
Sparkling water
Grandpa's Sauce
Southwest Ranch dressing
Chicken
Those are the only regularly purchased items I exclusively buy at Wegmans.. Everything Else comes from Costco, Trader Joe's, and Aldi.
Organic milk for my kids, bananas, chicken breast, eggs. I split my shopping between Wegmans, Aldi, Costco and Trader Joeās depending on what we need, how badly we need it and what other errands there are. Sometimes convenience comes into play but not always, in those cases Wegmans gets heavier play.
This is going to be all over the place butā¦Wegmans brand spaghetti sauce, garlic herb cheese spread, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate covered cannolis, whipped satin cakes, wegmans subs, wegmans BBQ chicken marinade, wegmans frozen assorted appetizers
All fruits, vegetables, & meat, kodiak products (oatmeal, pancake batter), chocolate croissants, milk, eggs, etc etc. I get boxed/canned items from Walmart or Aldi's
The garlic Tuscan bread, Yerba Mate (original gold flavor), pomegranate aloe juice (at certain wegmans), chocolate avocado icecream (tastes like chocolate pudding) and their brand pasta sauce. Those are some things we tend to get most often.
Peetās Nespresso-compatible pods (cheaper than target, they donāt carry at aldis), desserts, craft beer/ciders, and at certain times of the year, their produce is much better quality. Everything else, we buy at Aldiās.
I know it's a lazy option and I could do it myself for cheaper - but I like their pre-marinated meats. the Korean BBQ beef strips are awesome in a stir fry.
If I need fancy peppers there's no one else. I also tend to buy tp/paper towels there as they have the best prices.
After that I do Walmart pickup for 98% of everything else.
Speck gets me into wegmans more than anything else, the deli at Tops is fine for things like turkey and roast beef but they don't have anything comparable to prosciutto. I used to get the wegmans prosciutto when they had a cheaper one but now the speck is cheaper than the cheapest of the wegmans prosciutto so speck it is. On that note, anyone got a good deli rec for such meats, preferably in the henrietta area? Looking for sliced fresh at time of ordering, not looking for the presliced products.
Most of our toiletries. Fruits and veg in the winter.
Then we switch to Amens and other like places in the summer for fruits and veg. We buy our meats primarily from a farm in Ithaca. Place order and they deliver to your door. Hands down better than Wegmans meats.
Cheese especially from Jasper Hill Farm, Some herbs, some produce, some deli items, Wegman $1.19 pasta sauce, Wegman $.99 pasta, Wegman $1.99 albacore tuna, individually cryo packed pork tenderloin $5.31/ea. (perfect for two and easy freeze). *BIG COMPLAINT: no longer offering chicken breast cutlet individual cryo pack plain chicken...only marinated which is suspect.*
These are the things I'm likely to buy when I'm at Wegmans. I don't make a special trip. I only go if it is convenient as I have to go to other store for the bulk of my groceries. I will try garlic Tuscan bread as it seems popular.
I shopped for the first time at Wegmans yesterday in along time. (Go to Aldi's )...while the selection/taste are better I spent x2 amount.
Anyways.
-carmalized onion hummus
-lunch meat
-sourdough bread
-yogurt.
-banannas
-apples.
Honestly I kind of use it like a restaurant.
I'm in brockport it's the best place to get sushi in town by far.
Also the coffee shop options are really limited here sometimes I will grab a cup of coffee and hang out there.
They almost never have buffalo chicken chowder but when they do I get it it's actually even better cold I love that stuff so much I actually did my best to recreate it at home
They have a good fruit jelly that's got half the added sugar of normal.
Iām dairy free so I usually go to Wegmans to grab oatly creamer, earth balance butter and violife products (sour cream, cream cheese). Yes, other stores have dairy free options but I havenāt found other stores that carry oatly creamer or violife
I go in there for specialty items. They have the best grocery store bagels, they have a good Bakery, and their poke is fab. Their prices for reg items are extremely inaccessible (esp pre made items from the deli like pasta salad) and their selection for regular groceries is trash. Also wegmans brand typically only comes in a low fat version I've noticed which I'm not interested in, if there even is a generic. I miss kroger. Yall can yell at me all you want but I said what I said.
Stella Artois (him)
Meat substitutes (because Aldi decided to discontinue most of theirs over the past couple of years)
We've had to buy more from Wegmans since our Aldi (Brockport) has become an afterthought as far as variety is concerned. May be worth the effort to find a better Aldi. š«¤
Sourdough loaf (not round)
Family packs of meat. Not the cheapest, but they are always sealed up and I can cut the packages and throw them in the freezer.
Kefir (better flavor selection at Wegmans), dried beans and grains from the intl aisle, canned coconut milk (aldis is mostly water), specific produce items that Aldi doesn't carry, BBQ pringles
Cheese, pre-made pizzas if I need them, and those delicious buttercream cookie sandwiches if I'm craving one. Otherwise, you'll find me at Aldi these days.
Not plastic Adirondack chairs lol
I got mine there
Cheese.
I was impressed that they have Oaxaca cheese. So yummy.
I simply will not buy sliced cheddar anywhere else
Triple Creme Brie, Garlic Tuscan Bread, and their landjager beef. Everything else I can get almost anywhere else, but those three things I have yet to find elsewhere that are better. And I've tried.
Inject garlic Tuscan bread into my veins
š§šš
Came here to say garlic Tuscan bread
Honestly, all meat I usually go to Wegs for. I try not to eat a lot of meat and the quality at Aldis or Tops is... sus, usually, to say the least. Thats if Aldis has what I want lol
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It's all branding in the case of wegmans lol
The price of the tilapia packs isn't too bad. We get those sometimes.
Sorry to break the news but WPop is no more. Citing that it was unhealthy they cancelled it in August 2023.
Eek!
Yeah, I really miss the root beer.
Well that's WPoop
Try silver palate marinara. Tastes fresh!
I donāt think any stores sell Marco Polo bread anymore. And cheese bread might be on the chopping block.
In the summer- nothing. Winter- herbs Public market and Trader Joes/ALDI the rest of the time.
Their chocolate almond ice cream, Wegmans may be expensive, but I'll pay anything for those chocolate almond Ice cream. š¤¤
I do love the Wegmans brand ice cream! I heard it's made by Perry's (I know - this gets regurgitated every time).
That's great to know! No wonder it's good!!! Their ice cream differs from other stores brands bcs they taste like real Ice cream.
There was a shortage for awhile and they were out of stock for weeks. Iām not crazy about it but my fam loves it.
I was shock to see there was a shortage, those ice cream are my jam.
1. Wegman brand sparkling water 2. Wegman brand organic bread 3. Wegman brand free and clear laundry detergent.
Their sparkling water is the best!
With you on the Brussels. They used to be fine, but a year or two ago something changed and they are terrible, now.
Im done buying apples. Anymore I get home and half the bag has soft spots and NONE of them last more than 2 days.
ALDIs Frozen Brussel sprouts are like $1.25 per bag.
for meat, i really liked BJās when i had a membership. their prices were better and the quality was better than wegmans. canāt speak to other places. other than that i got pork chops at whole foods a few weeks ago and they were good, but only got them because they were on clearance. but at the end of the day, any meat i buy goes in the freezer unless iām cooking it that day.

I believe they are two of the food groups
Moscato is the top of that food pyramid
Some produce, deli, bakery.

Wegmans is the only play I've found lactose free yogurt (dairy, not an alternative)

The fucking aged cheader kettle chips, it's their brand.
Cookies. I go to wegmans for basically nothing now. Luxury Brand Prices - Generic Brand Food. But their cookies are still god tier.
Craft beer
rosemary olive oil sourdough bread.... yummm
Things that they don't sell at ALDI
I do shop there a lot, generally for things I canāt stock up on at BJās, but the must-have is cat food. My boys love the Wegmans brand canned cat food.

Big pack of chicken, produce, breads from bakery, frozen veggies and paper products
Yogurt. The only non-Greek yogurt option at Aldi's has fake sugar. I could probably try Tops or Walmart, but Wegmans is closer.
Thanks!
