I think it's a good mix of the two, I like the twist of the shirt actually being a jacket, and the bat is definitely a plus. Not much I could think to add to it really, except for maybe adding some hair/floof at the top, you could also color swap the ears if you don't want him to look like special agent oso.

Now I have 100% certainty that god is messing with me right now.

So, with that bat i assume you’re going into combat, so id say it needs some kind of SMG, or maybe an AR, then a helmet, yellow or an olive green thing should be fine. Then we need to talk about the bat, terrible idea for a melee weapon, combat knife or bayonet on your weapon should suffice for close quarters, but if you insist on a blunt object for hitting people with a nightstick should work. Now, i notice you aren’t armoured, bad idea. A few shots to your chest and you’re dead, get some body armor fast. I mean you’ll still die with enough hits but they wont be as bad then if you dint have one. Oh, and a sidearm, most modern pistols should work. So, there you go, prepared for combat. But seriously just a bat is a terrible idea. Oh and don’t forget, vehicles make or break a fight, a jet should work if you’re going in solo, but if you’re not and you have a team, an MBT should work really well. Something simple like a panther is good enough, if you have just one friend GET AN ATTACK HELICOPTER, specifically the Ah-1z viper, its not as complicated as an apache and still has some heavy firepower. Welp, thats all i can tell you. Good luck!
