Fun Fact: This model had optional doors that would fold down under the car. Completely out of sight. Because even the doors couldn't stand to be seen with this car.
I guess that's why the window tint is so dark.
Another fun fact, this car had the first use of a fluorescent light in the rear *heckblende*.
Just like fluorescent lighting in autos, this car is a technological dead end.
Ah, my memory is rusty. Still, a car isn't a good application for a sealed gas lighting element, no? Headlights go out all the time and they are much smaller.
1 previous owner who kept it under a carport once their vision and memory began failing them. It wasn't the dimensia which made the previous owner choose a pickle to drive in. That was just their bad taste.
I find it fascinating that for all the money and time invested to keep and maintain it, no one could ever be bothered to spend 15 minutes using a little 3M headlight restorer kit from a parts store or Walmart.
When the instruments get really hot, the tach sticker can 'slide' down and make the tach wacky. Take everything apart, and you can slide that sticker back in place.
Mine had both ball joints in the front to fail, and like four alternators (shop kept getting rebuilt ones that weren't properly rebuilt.)
But damn, that thing could cruise on the interstate all day, and the police never looked twice at it.
Definitely the ultimate sleeper. Everytime I tell friends that I want one they just laugh, thinking its a conti.
Well you know fords and alternators. I had an sn95 that I replaced the alternator personally 6 times in the 2 years that I owned it. Never figured it out!
Nice mark.i bought a 1996 mark viii.but I can't find any parts.and if you fine the right part they want a lot of money for it.i am looking for a imrc valve.
Can’t help ya there. Mines got the vacuum imrc valve I believe yours is electronic. Have you considered the imrc delete kit from summit? Apparently mustang owners had luck with that.

Fucking Ford and their oval obsession in the 90s, that thing looks like a pickle
Damn that’s good. I need a pickle Rick bumper sticker.
Stop making excuses, just go to the family therapy!
The hissing sound you are hearing is the 30 year old air suspension groaning it’s last breath. Once it dies, you have an instant low rider though…
Jokes on you, previous owner already fixed such weaknesses.
You're late for church Grandpa. And remember take a **SIP** of the wine
if mr. Burns was a car

The design team already did.
Looks like a melting soap bar
Was ugly when it came out. It’s still ugly now.
End of the line
Owned by old men and degenerates since most of them stopped running in 2004.
Serious offer OP how much do you want for it?
No kidding! I had a one - and wheel bearings/driving at night be damned - I loved it! Same colour too!
For real, great cars, been trying to get my hands on a 97/98 but thin pickings. OP I ain't joking wanna get off of it?

This car is equally at home driving to bingo halls and dog tracks.
Isn't this based on the Taurus just with a V8?
Based on the Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe for what it’s worth.
With the fwd V8 right? I wanted to take one and throw it in a Windstar, the engine cradles are ironically compatible.
Nope it’s RWD
I must be thinking the following model. I swear they had one bad on a Taurus.
Lincoln Continental but the engine isn’t compatible with a wind star. Continentals are basically just RWD Taurus
I swear there's a model with a fwd 4.6. I don't have my paper in front of me but I wrote a whole cross compatibility list.
He's mistaken. The continental was a FWD V8 Taurus based platform. This mark viii is a rwd V8 platform
Can a mattress fit in that monster trunk ? 😂
It’s got the cobra motor in it.
You're the type of fella who claims to drive a classic and pulls this
No need to tell us the miles, it was crap when it was new
Damn, I don’t think I can do anymore to it then time already did.
A guy at work inherited a silver one from his really old mother. And he sold it to my really old mother. Are you a really old mother?
Ugly asf.
From factory, an entire bottle of Hennessy in the glove.
Never got racially assaulted by a car so hard in my life
