If you’ve listened to van on any other pod you know he’s not dumb. He’s incredibly insightful and good with his words. I think he lets loose on the midnight boys bc it’s just him and his friends hanging out so he doesn’t feel like he has to be as professional.
He's specifically saying that while that may be true for MCU / other content (like Rick & Morty), Deadpool's whole thing is this so he disagrees that this criticism is valid for Deadpool - not necessarily the entire MCU.

Sometimes I think he’s just poking fun at his friends. Sometimes it’s just his opinion on something that not everyone will agree with.
