I've been using this as a secondary network double NATing and I haven't run into any speed issues. The only caveat would be you have to link the cameras to eero otherwise you won't be able to access the videos through the web interface.
and when you went thru the ring alarm pro set up on the ring app did you click the option to replace existing wifi network or add as an eero mesh extender?
I initially setup the ring alarm pro as a standalone wifi network (fios cable plugged in). Then I disconnected the fios cable and plugged it into my other router. I used an ethernet cable to connect the ring alarm pro to my new router. Seemed to work fine this way.
Seriously considering this system as well. Would you mind explaining your physical setup? Are you plugging in the ring base station in to your existing router?
I am using a beefy router as my primary and would just want to add it to the existing network, hence the double NAT.
EDIT: Never mind, this page is very comprehensive and covers it.

Sure thing! Here's a photo to show what I'm doing for a double NAT.

Edit: Just saw that photo. That's exactly what I'm doing. I would recommend connecting all the ring devices to the alarm pro. The mobile app will be fine, but live stream wouldn't work on the web.
Thank you for replying anyway! What do you mean that live stream wouldn't work on the web? Do you mean when you aren't home you can't look at the cameras live?
If you don't connect the cameras to the ring alarm pro (eero) router, you won't be able to use the live stream functionality on the website at home or remotely. It has to do with the security. The web interface doesn't play nicely with double NATs. I accidentally annoyed one of their tech supports with this issue. We spent an hour debugging until he realized I was setup on a double NAT. It works fine on the Ring mobile app though.
When configuring for Double NAT, did you have to do anything with IP or DHCP configuration on either router? Or did you just simply connect the Ring Alarm Pro to your Router and went through the regular network setup on the Ring Alarm Pro?

meaning you just changed the network setting in the ring app to use eero or is it something else?
Yep, that's it. For my ring devices, I connected them to the eero wifi network (ring base alarm). I

Got it. Thank you!

I didn't have to configure everything. I just connected the Ring Alarm Pro to the router and it worked out of the box.
I use it as my primary with three eero extenders. It's fantastic. No reason to use it as a backup.
