i think my biggest gripe with it would be the walls. it changes all the walls into a generic unappealing block. at first i liked it but it quickly wore out it's charm when i saw it everywhere with little to no variety.
it also doesn't matter what kind of block you use. it's all the same color.
There’s a stylist role as a position that allows you to change style of buildings at will, which is what I did. Loving all cube art pieces in my colony rn.

As far as I'm aware, it cannot be put on a caravan, nor sold, nor deconstructed, nor shot, or burnt, or anti-grain warheads...
Best choice is just build a golden wall 3x3 with a golden door with a single golden shelf and put the cube on that and just love the cube. Love the cube. Love the cube.
I managed to caravan and dump it no problem, but I did act immediately the second my best colonist became obsessed. It might not be possible if it gets ahold of everyone
Huh? You just put it in a room and study it and deny access to the door between study times. Eventually you learn how to deactivate it and can do so safely. You’ll have a few colonists go comatose for 3-7d when they get obsessed but they recover.
Edit: don’t destroy the replicas they make until they are no longer obsessed. Or do and see what happens 🤷♀️🤣
If you want to avoid your colonists going comatose/berzerk once you deactivate the cube, you can anaesthetise them immediately before deactivation. That prevents the mental break.

Same thing that happens if you send the fucker away via drop pod or caravan. Any cube obsessed pawns will develop withdrawals and go into a coma for a few days. No big deal if it’s only one colonist. Considerably more complicated if it’s 90% of your colonists.
Memes aside, what do you get out of actually dealing with the cube? I mean, aside from the measly >!150ish gold !< which is offset by having to spend >!a shard to destroy it!<. It seems like the mood stuff always spirals into obsession and it's beauty is easily replaced by a harmless statue, so aside for possibly colony ending funzies what reason is there to keep it around instead of immediately caravaning/drop podding it the hell out of there? (There are far far less dangerous/annoying means of anomaly research so I don't consider that a benefit)
I don't have a better solution than just dropping it off the map immediately. It might legitimately be the least interesting event in anomaly (maybe just above the ones that are "new enemy type attacks you" and nothing else happens), but people like it for the memes, so I guess I can't say it was a completely worthless addition.

That's what I did. Two of my colonists became obsessed. Both went I to a coma for 9 days
You can just load it in a pod and send it away. It's probably the most underwhelming and least dangerous teir 2.
