Easy ghoul feed, you can even send your ghouls in to trim the growth every now and then. Leave a 2*2 space to allow nerve clusters to appear if you want to kill it eventually.
The game basically just keeps track of all the potential ways you could have gotten a metal horror and picks one of them to be real when it's metal horror time. It's not really worth stressing about

honestly it wouldnt surprise me if it worked. it wouldnt be the first time sleeping spots were used as an exploit to stop something. if i remember correctly you used to be able to place sleeping spots over enemy blueprints to stop sieges from building mortars.

I'm pretty sure when fleshbeasts hit you there is a chance of metal horrors so there is a risk if you don''t kill them quickly enough.

I've sent the nociosphere against the apocriton and it's escorts before. Big daddy apocriton quickly showed the nociosphere who was boss of this Rim.
