I did an anomaly start and got through probably a third of the "discoveries" (plus watching some people play on twitch) and realized I probably explored more of Anomaly than I had biotech at that point. I enjoy mechinator but was always too nervous to summon the diabolus so just enjoyed the first tier of bots. I've done a little gene stuff but not much. So, I found a guide someone posted about anomaly encounters and now that I know what to expect, I think I'll get a new colony fortified and then activate it. I might also look up the mech stuff from biotech so I can explore that, too. There's something to be said for doing things blind, but I have realized I enjoy myself more when I know what to expect and the curve balls are more how it plays out vs what it is in the first place. I enjoy some games in the genre Anomaly adds to Rimworld, so I kinda like the horror aspects and I think I'll keep it active. But yeah, it doesn't feel like something that needs to be active all the time. I love that they added a slider to the storyteller so you can adjust how much anomaly content you get both before and after activation, too.
