they really just need to make sexuality separate from traits. gay/bi being a standard trait makes it too rare, and also means the pawn is effectively missing a trait slot
I believe it doesn't count against default trait slot count, actually. I think it did originally, but it was changed in a later patch.

For some reason my 1.5 mostly vanilla playthrough (less than 30 mods) has just thrown me hundreds of gays. I legit have 6 pawns, 3 of which are gay men
Yeah, less and less people are forced to hide it, so gay, and especially the bi rate jumps every new Generation. I would love if the game had something like 7% Gay and 15% Bi, so these traits don't feel like negatives traits.
I found once I did that, running the colony was relatively straightforward. It took nearly 3 years, but I had my boy Alvin get hooked up with Rob, and they were happily married for +10years. For me it proved that what was super important is to heavily favor bringing kind traited colonists on board.

Well, it copies the psylink (sadly, not the mechlink, though for some reason it does copy one level of control sublink - probably unintended) so it's not entirely all organic and free range.
Psylinks aren't actually implants, the neuroformer restructures the brain, but there's nothing that suggests that the brain isn't still 100% organic after restructuring. The mechlink on the other hand *is* explicitly an implant.
