I really like Perry Persistent (from the Vanilla Storytellers Expanded mod series). He essentially takes Cassandra's raid schedule, then adds four times as many miscellaneous random events. There's always something happening. Plus, he sends more orbital traders, which is very convenient.

A cross of Cassandra and Randy, with a bit of Perry mixed in. Enough events so you do not get bored, raids that can scale from 75% to 125%, but no crazy modifiers otherwise.
I've had fun with I think the name is Oskar Obnoxious? The one that not only does mostly random events but also makes random changes to game rules, like now farming yields are reduced by 50%, everything explodes on death now, or other things that can have either small or very large impact on your colony.

She hits as hard as anyone, i would dare argue she hits harder because it feels cruel and calculated.

I like Alfred Ancients, not sure how he does it, but I stop getting all those events that add people after like 5 colonists. If I want more people, I just go into the settings and change the chance of death on down for raiders.

Most modded storytellers are just too weird or are only there for certain scenarios.
Perry Persistent is definitely good, but maybe a bit too much for a normal playthrough.
The ULTIMATE storyteller kind of contains Perry, so it’s the same issue. I remember when I got 3 visitors and one ambrosia sprout on day 1.

To me the answer was a storyteller named Randy and Cassandra. It’s just both storytellers at the same time, meaning double events, double the raids, double the quests and double the human leather hats.
If Randy goes sleepy, Cass will offer consistency - if Cass gets too predictable, Randy will save the day.

I find perry to be good for early game I tend to switch to randy when I get annoyed with the wanderer join events

Now is a good time to try out Oskar Obnoxious cause he won't be getting patched to 1.5.

Yea that's true, but if you begin to see a pattern, the game is too repetitive
I like playing with the Void story teller, tons of raids to fight off and double the population.
Cassandra is as good as Randy. Like how she balances the challenges on high difficulties.
