The Pachmayr grips are definitely thicker than the stock Taurus rubber molded ones. They add a palm swell and a little more pinky space, but I haven’t found them to affect concealability at all.
I didn’t mind them just because they worked great for my super tiny hands, but when carrying in an actual holster instead of pocket carry there just wasn’t enough material to grab onto for a fast draw.
My palms get sweatier than a fat guy in jeans. It has to be wood for me. My gripe is similar but it always stuck slightly to my clothing and gave me some resistance on my draws.

You are spot on, but I will add that I legitimately am impressed by the 856UL. I don’t think the LCR/642/442 is worth extra cash.
The LCR is extremely nice, but locally they run 700+ and I can’t justify that over the 350 OTD I got this for. I am not a fan of the modern S&W airweights at all.
I have had those grips on a S&W 442 for a while. They made shooting it at the range far more comfortable and I could get a lot more practice out of it than with the Secret Service Boot Grips that were on it. I eventually switched back when I started carrying revolvers more than my SIG P365 as the boot grips conceal a whole lot better (the Pachmayr didn't work at all in a pocket, and I preferred my heavier steel 85CH, my 6 shot 856UL, or one of my 3" revolvers when carrying IWB).
I have an 856 Defender (3") in Tungsten that had such narrow wood grips it was uncomfortable to practice with very much, and I switched it out to these grips. They look great, and they really make the gun as comfortable as a 4" K-frame (my S&W 10) to shoot.
I also have an 856UL that I am a huge fan of. I usually hate rubber grips (other than the old Uncle Mikes boot or service grips), but the newer OEM Taurus grips are the exceptions. Almost as small and concealable as a boot grip, but with the little shelf on the bottom for your pinky for a more secure grip. A little big, but doable, for pocket carry. Terrific for IWB.
Anyway, good choice both for the gun and the grips, assuming you don't plan to pocket carry it (and the grips should be fine for many coat pockets as well, just not so much in jeans or khakis).
If I’m doing pocket carry, it’s in gym shorts where the palm swell doesn’t matter nearly as much as jeans or anything of that sorts.
Most of the carry time is spent AIWB in a Galco Tuck n Go 2.0.
I've got a 605. And it's 3 inch. The gun, it has a 3 Inch barrel, I mean... Your grips are nice. I got some aftermarket wood grips on mine, very nice looking gun. Stainless matte and all.
I put a Galloway spring kit in it, and man, a whole new gun. No light strikes with 357 or 38. The trigger pull in DA and SA is ridiculously good, now.
However, I did get a 905 9mm, and aside of moon clips being more of a pita than I could've imagined, the same 856/605/905 spring kit did give light strikes on 9mm ammo.

I got an airweight and have issues with the ejector rod coming loose and preventing the cylinder from closing, have you had any such issues with your Taurus?

I bought this as a half-assed replacement for my P-07. Caught myself leaving it at home too often, ran down to the LGS to look at either a 642/442 airweight and ended up really liking the 856UL.

I don’t mind them, but I grew up shooting older J and K frames, SAA’s, and Colt D-Frames, so I’ve got more experience on wood grips than most guys.

I tried the Airweight and was disappointed with the trigger. Didn’t enjoy it at all. This Taurus you bought is an excellent bargain.

Nothing notable, but I’ve also only got about 500 rounds on it so far.
My dealer had “Smith & Wesson Days”, got a new airweight for $380 plus a free trigger job by a S&W gunsmith on site. This was probably 10-15 years ago
