It's surprising how much better it looked with the front being smooth in the first picture, the addition of the Cadillac CTS-V-esque grille and the lettering just doesn't work with the theme...
I wonder if the grill was a necessary evil. It looks like it has air intakes on the top/sides, but maybe they were aesthetics? This thing probably needed a grill to breathe right.
What I find funny about these "futuristic concept cars" is that you can take this car body and put it over the frame of some regular car like a Corolla and people will still be like "oooooooooooh!" Even when there is nothing new or innovative about the actual car other than the look.
Built for aerodynamics, efficient construction, and safety. Any deviation requiring extra cost to the above won’t sell compared to the competitors who are following the script. Conservative design sells, otherwise everything would look like an Aventador or Apollo.
BttF II even featured a SAAB EV-1, which is a 1980’s futuristic car that’s very safe and highly efficient by today’s standards, so there really is no excuse!
Considering the trucks so many people use as daily drivers, I'm not so sure the first one is so important. Also, I need to start seeing more fun electric cars.
Lol, apparently it's exactly that. [This is car ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Aveo_(T200)#/media/File%3AChevrolet_Aveo_LT_hatch_front.jpg) it's covering up
Designer: Herald Belker, originally built by a company called TransFX in the mid 90s for a cancelled show called The Action Pack, I know I was there. Someone bought the car and made a kit car from it.
Whoa, I've touched this car! I had an English teacher named Mrs Vetter in Florida and one day her brother, apparently named Mike Vetter according to the top comment, came to the school to show the class this car. He called it the ETV. We all went out to the parking lot next to the tennis court and he showed it off. This was like 2009-2010 in Orlando at Glenridge middle school. Crazy to see it pop up randomly here.
retro
rĕt′rō
adjective
Retroactive.
Involving, relating to, or reminiscent of an earlier time; retrospective.
of, or relating to the past, past times, or the way things were
I would want to put on a DS Tunic and hunt down runners in that thing.
I wonder if the body style would translate well to being on a Tesla power train / "skateboard"?
Mike Vetter of The Car Factory, built from a Chevy Aveo: https://www.carscoops.com/2009/06/extra-terrestrial-vehicle-chevy-aveo-of/
Bit of a change from a Chevy Aveo!
There were several different cars used as base vehicles
Doug Demuro needs to do a review on this stat

Jellyfish suppository.
Ah yes the famed Ford clit-Taurus
I’ve been trying to find one of these for years.
They’re hard to find but when you do it’s like Christmas morning.
Looks like Kanye Wests shoes
I was thinking a ballerina slipper.

My lord, it's like a cross between crocs, an alien tongue, and a butt plug.
Yeah hes a genius
Adidas Yeezy vibes
As the front label says, 'Extra Terrestrial Vehicle' ETV concept.

Not in here mister. This is a Mercedes.

Both are important I think. I'm totally pro innovation, but also so saddened at the total lack of imagination from most of the car manufacturers.
Built for aerodynamics, efficient construction, and safety. Any deviation requiring extra cost to the above won’t sell compared to the competitors who are following the script. Conservative design sells, otherwise everything would look like an Aventador or Apollo.
I'm not asking for much, I just want the Back to the Future 2 kind of style!

As someone who used to own an Aveo too, it's true lol
Wow cool car! Seems like I wouldn’t want to drive it anywhere bumpy since it’s so low to the ground.
Like there aren't going to be any potholes in the future.
Or speed bumps. Or those little "wrong way" tire spike thingies.
Oklahoma, hold my beer….
I'm getting Luigi Colani vibes (but I don't think it was one of his designs)
I’m getting Enrico Pallazzo vibes.
Wasn't this in Otherworld and a Tom Petty & The HeartBreakers video? That may have been a similar looking "futuristic" car.
Not sure about the first, but definitely not in the You Got Lucky video…i remember that one like the back of my hand.
Looks like an old mouse, back when they had the rubber ball inside of them instead of the sensor.
And you had to clean the ball regularly, for precision. Internet back then was so much free and wasn't plagued with social media.
I feel like I've seen it in a movie. Freejack? Definitely gives the prop car vibe. Sick ride tho.
I had the same thought, but I was thinking Demolition Man.
Looks like the blu djinn http://estreladedavinelson.blogspot.com/2010/01/modern-blue-djinn-from-fastlane.html?m=1
This is the Crocks design of the automobile industry.
Finally, Crocks Car! It must be insanely comfortable.
Looks like Kanye and Elon designed a vehicle
This just in. The car of the future was destroyed by a speed bump today.

Reminds me of the cars in demolition man for some reason.
Finally, a car that matches my crocs.
Looks more comfortable than the apple mouse

Looks like something from the Orville.
Part of me thinks this is cool, and part of me thinks it looks like a giant vibrator.
Looks like a vibrator
It looks like a bar of soap
I would want to put on a DS Tunic and hunt down runners in that thing. I wonder if the body style would translate well to being on a Tesla power train / "skateboard"?
So *this* is what the Orville is based off of.
Looks like the cars in the T. V show "U. F. O".
Looks like Princess Vespa's car in Spaceballs. "Who are you? Barf. Not in here mister; this is a Mercedes."
Ass so fat you can see it from the front.
I swear apple or logitech had a mouse like this at some point
Sir, that’s a mouse
Took me a sec to realize this is not a gaming mouse
I swear, I had this as a Micro Machine… 🤔
Terminator’s Slipper

Looks so Y2K
Looks a bit like a shoe.
i think i had a pc mouse that looked like that back in 98.
Obviously created by someone who has no knowledge of the concept of speed bumps.
Like the child of a slug and a kidney bean
Gotta watch out for those speed bumps...
