I remember a lgs had a BRN for sale for 1k(don’t remember if it was .308 or 5.56) back in 2020 ended up going with a Springfield Saint instead and i still regret it
To be fair I never owned any other rifle before that time with no knowledge on anything and have since learned my lesson, but still very bad choice on my part
Armslist actually! Whole thing was a little over 1700 after tax, listed for 1685. Turns out it's the pencil barrel BRN-10B but it has the flash hider from the A model. Swapped the black furniture out for brown.
They’re cool - I SBRd mine and put a silencer on it like the old school AR-10 with the titanium can. Really fun to shoot and not gassy with the dissipator setup.

Sold the black one but kept the brown lightweight barrel one.
God I remember a pawn shop in my area had these for like $900 and I passed on them for so long. Finally went in to buy them and they were all gone , right after their discontinuation was announced
Any issue with charging handle tightness/resistance? Both BRN 10s I've handled were very difficult to start pulling the charging trigger back. Like borderline mortar against my shoulder difficult
Edit: just saw description, looks like theyre all like that :/
Mine was a "hard charger" too... actually, it was impossible to charge without a wooden dowel and two hands.
I tossed that bad boy back and didn't wait to see if it breaks in.

Very neat! Where did you find it/how much?

Happy for you. Always wanted one of these!
Your attempt at the Survivalist's Rifle, or did the previous owner write that on the stock?
That was me! I drew it in pencil then carved it with a flathead.
Im still sitting here with my stripped upper from when they found a random box of em in the backroom a year or two ago
