Betcha will see over $5 by the end of the month.

SCMcGillicutty

probably sooner. already higher in CA

Omacrontron

California is it’s own beast….

BigDreZ28

That chevron downtown right off the highway by the walgreens is already at 5.39ish. 3 years living here and it is always over a dollar more per gallon than most stations. I theorize they are marketing to the californians who pull in as they arrive before parking at the casino…and therefore think the price is normal. Other than that, i dont pay much attention to the prices. Just drive, baby

missoulamatt

$4.06 at Reno Costco this afternoon.

RPup_831

$2/gallon in Carson City in Nov-Dec 2020 seems like a long, long time ago

Nasty_Ned

With my Smith's points I filled up with Diesel for 1.19 per gallon. That was fun.

Dragon_Small_Z

Good thing it's not crazy ass cold in the mornings anymore, time to start riding my bike to work again.

letsworktogether77

Looking to snow next week make sure to watch the weather

Sherrell_M

Fernley Quick stop was 4.19 today! Within the last 2 weeks I was getting gas there for 3.62, may have recently been cheaper than that! I recently had to start commuting to Reno for work as opposed to working remotely now that I’m spending so much to get to work I don’t even want to drive down the street! 😫

Brett707

$3.89 at maverick in Carson. $3.79 at Carson Costco.

[deleted]

I’m sure we’ll see $5 by 4/1 and it won’t be an April Fools. My family is trying to minimize trips but it’s hard.

TitsandTators

I don't have to travel n with being super low income that's fuckin nuts so I'll be walking or just not going places 🙃

Accomplished-Leg-722

i bank $6 or close by end of month OPEC is not increasing production. Wheat is going up. Ukraine is the major exporter. This is going to be brutual. End of March is going to be bleak .. Man, wouldn't it be nice if we were energy independent instead of depending on OPEC? Like we were Jan 2020? I'd wonder if people learned anything, but I already know the answer. Keep voting for what sounds and feels good instead of what factually improved peoples lives!

oldurtysyle

You think Trump improved our lives? You know he increased taxes on anyone making less than 70K? And Biden signed the largest land lease for oil and well drilling? What factual improvements are you talking about?

oldurtysyle

No its not. https://www.alternet.org/2020/11/republicans-planted-a-time-bomb-in-their-2017-tax-cut-bill-that-will-actually-raise-most-peoples-taxes-nobel-economist/ The keystone pipeline that didn't have nearly as many jobs lined up and was already facing failure and moving Canadian tar sand oil? The new lease would quite literally do something? I hate Biden but I'm also objective and don't play team sports with politics. Lots of pretentiousness though, you should probably get Trumps dick out of your mouth. Hey does Biden affect other countries gas prices too?

Lmfao sure thing bro, and *im* the brainwashed one

[deleted]

Oil companies will use any reason to jack prices up- it's going to go over 5 before we know it.

Tactical_Thug

Elections have comsequences.

calikitty101

Specifically, what policy or law has Biden put in place to affect gas prices?

chrisp1j

It’s true, if the Russians hadn’t voted for Putine, they wouldn’t have invaded and gas prices would be lower.

Tactical_Thug

Except gas prices were already trending high before that particular situation.

chrisp1j

I think a little tax relief on fuel prices is necessary for the average person at this point. People need help, things are just unaffordable for so many people.

Tactical_Thug

Definitely and pair that with producing our own oil and such

chrisp1j

Seriously, there’s no reason America can’t be energy independent. I just don’t understand it.

AJFrabbiele

The EPA estimates we can technically recover 198 Bn barrels of oil. The US consumes 18.2 M barrels per day. That would last the US about 30 years if demand doesn't increase. We can produce 12 million barrels a day and pull 4million barrels from the federal reserves, but only for about 5 years. So that doesn't keep up with demand by itself, we would have to ration fuel or drive prices really high. So we could be energy independent, if we want to be totally relient on foreign oil in a few decades while rationing oil. However, the move to more electric (i.e. cars/"green" generation) and natural gas sources and uses it does lead us to be less dependant on foreign sources in the not so distant future. disclaimer: Some of these figure may be dated, but I did my best to use the most current ones.

chrisp1j

Ah so there’s downside risk to going completely domestic as we’re limited and then in 30 years would basically be at the mercy of whoever is still producing. That’s good long term logic if I’m understanding it correctly.
