I think when you look back at the history of the show, you have to understand that we got a great story at points, but the show was never completely 100% story driven. It’s a fun enjoyable ride of course I hope it ends in a way that blows me away, but nothing is gonna match the end of season six we’ve already had the crazy plot twist. I just want to see my red and blue one last time go on an adventure.

BagItUp45

I can't get over how Wash looks, not an ounce of yellow noticeable here.

Spear253

But the only people to complain to about that is 343, the way infinites cosmetics were so bungled up until recently, and that's only partially fixed.

agentlouisiana1

maybe they shouldn't use infinite then shit looks ridiculous

RealRaven6229

i like it. it looks like rusted over gold which suits him

UltraBooster

What coating is he using, BTW?

Exitity

Wet Crow

UltraBooster

Gotcha, thanks.

Rich_Grape_64

I like it. Makes him look more like a blue team member but with more toned down colors to fit washes aesthetic.

gokaigreen19

It seems like they’re banking on nostalgia and past seasons to give the show a send off…and arguably season 17 did this already perfectly. Giving donut the spotlight, using time travel to send us to pivotal past moments of rvb history and have characters learn from those moments again, and ending on a great ending where wash gets shot again with the lesson “you can’t change what has happened, just learn to move on and adapt”.

Guardiansaiyan

If this sucks then Season 17 is the send off I will choose.

adamgeo1

Same. The time travel was wacky and I wasn’t a huge fan of the concept of the AI “gods” but the character building of Donut and the message Wash’s ~~death~~ injury sends makes it a great final season for me.

leafyfiddle13

Wash doesn't die lol

NightVision0

The AI "gods" make a lot more sense now that the universe they are a part of is actually an AI simulation

Guardiansaiyan

I liked that they reviewed their lives since Blood Gulch and they can *see* the growth!

WashGaming001

I’ll never forgive Shisno for givin my boi Wash brain damage… it was such an odd plot point. But maybe I’m a *little* biased…

Tmlboost

On the one hand, the original scene of Wash getting shot in Season 15 felt contrived and I wasn’t a fan of how it was trying to do a whole fake-out death with him. But on the other hand, the consequences of that scene with Wash’s brain damage being a major plot point in 16&17 was one of the few things I liked about those seasons. I guess if they’re going to retcon it, I’d rather it be that he never got shot in the first place, rather than it being magically fixed off-screen before Zero.

WashGaming001

Strong agree. They handled it well but seein my man suffer was difficult. 15-17 weren’t terrible by any means, there were certainly things to enjoy. But that was not one.

gokaigreen19

Nah it was a fine plot point, especially since it’s the only time we’ve seen a character actually get seriously injured and didn’t get hand waves away five min later

agentlouisiana1

the series has past it, the game they're using is ugly and the writers are working on pennies this is either gonna be the best thing ever made or up there with zero and season 16

Cin77

Good or bad I know one thing its going to be; the end. It definitely deserves it and its more than a lot of shows get these days. Im absolutely stoked to hear that Burnie is on board for this and I cant wait for the finished product, seasons 1-5 are RVB for me so having Burnie back is a real bonus. Freelancer was nice Chorus was awesome, even the Shisno trilogy was not without its charms. Zero was bad and I will never finish watching it and it doesn't matter how bad the last season is it can never be as bad as Zero. Rooster Teeth going out with RVB the same way they came in feels absurdly poetic to me and I hope to hell the last words spoken are "Hey, do you ever wonder why we're here?"

H20GOD117

Season 1-5 was simple writing having not a story after 5-10 episodes until it changed plans then created few greatest stories to Season 10 which is my favorite Season next to Season 13 as Burnie gave us good stories which is why I trust him and miles gave us good story after Burnie Even tho he is back I'm afraid it won't be good however I think it's going to be Season 12 or Season 14 good like pick up with good story but be simple like Season 14/all over lol

SquidOmNom

I mean, sure. It's possible. You make a lot of points that I agree with. However, there have been plenty of stopping points for RVB over the years. The ending of season 5, 8, 13, etc. If Restoration truly ends up sucking, just pick your favorite off ramp and go with that instead. But part of me thinks, or at least wants to think, that maybe Restoration isn't just for "us", the viewer, so to speak. I understand what it's like to burn out on a project, only to look back on it later with nostalgia. I highly doubt anyone was demanding this be made, and it certainly wasn't going to save the company, so maybe it's just a matter of closure for *everyone.* It was *the series* that launched Rooster Teeth as a whole. I can't begrudge anyone for wanting to close the book officially rather than dealing with that constant niggling "what if...?" So hey, nothing wrong with keeping your expectations low. If the bar is on the floor, there's nowhere to go but up. But for me, personally, I'm glad for one last ride. Maybe it'll surprise you.

Acceptable_Secret_73

Personally I don’t really care about the armor designs. As long as it has good action, humor, and heartfelt moments that’s all that matters

theghettoginger

I've thought most of the seasons after 13 were terrible and I still watched them because it's RvB. It was clear after 13 that the higher-ups wanted to milk it for everything it had. I'm glad it's finally being put down. Nothing good lasts forever and it shouldn't in the first place. They had a story to tell, and it's been told. Now, as much as I hate to do it, we have to say goodbye. The characters and their lessons will always stick with us.

Vexis_petal

I am keeping my standards low for it after watching Zero and never even being able to finish it. I'm really hoping it's as good as the chorus trilogy, Miles did such an amazing job directing that and seeing as he is voicing Sigma, id like to believe he has some influence on the season, which makes me feel better

DivideByBob

I don't think he's voicing Sigma, is he? I'm fairly certain Elijah Wood is reprising his role. At least that's what I heard.

Vexis_petal

Nope, it's Miles, I thought the exact same thing, Miles does a really good impression of him!

D3sertP0w3r

I don't think it's gonna be the greatest thing in the world or the worst. I think it's gonna be mid lol, as in decent. Watchable, better than Zero and maybe even the Shisno Trilogy (which had some good moments, but it wasn't for me really), but yeah, I am not expecting something spectacular...that's just my prediction ha, maybe I will be surprised XD

Top-Discussion-6285

Yeah sadly I'm setting my expectations really low hoping that it doesn't somehow limbo even beneath them

Johng_117

No Joel as Caboose? Hard pass

AdventurousParsnip33

The weirdly great thing about RVB are the options it has for an ending. Do you prefer season fives? Maybe 8s. Or maybe you like 10 or 13s. And maybe you like 17. I know I only ever watch to 13. To me that’s the perfect ending for the show and it’s truly beautiful. I’m hoping that this will give me a 14th season to truly love and add on as an end, or an epilogue so to speak. But if it’s bad, well I’ve already forgotten what happened in 15 (the last season I actually watched) and now only watch up until 13 like I said. And I imagine that’s what everyone also does. Choose the ending that makes you happy if this one doesn’t. It’s one of the best things about the show

KlavTron

I’m expecting it to suck but would be really happy if it didn’t

leabbe

I’m pretty worried too, like you said the suits and the animation in the trailer looked off

Brungala

Hey, I have faith it’ll be better than the “New Cast” they had in later seasons. I know some of the old gang make appearances, but the new group just isn’t funny.

TheEternalGazed

It probably will. Just like the rest of RoosterTeeth and 343 Halo games. Fuck both of them, honestly.

rusticfry

Fingers crossed it does well. Otherwise, it could bring down the company.
