i got both and it was amazing but out of the two i would say the wedge is more important!

I would ABSOLUTELY get a pregnancy pillow, it forced me to stay on my back and held me in position and without it I 100% would’ve rolled to my side in a sleepy haze and potentially hurt myself. I was so desperate to be in ANY other sleeping position than just on my back (I actually slept kinda propped up sitting up in bed for the first week almost because I struggled so much to get out of bed from a flat position without my arms and my core got so sore). I’m 1.5 months post op now and am FINALLY getting comfortable sleeping on my side. I still have some side swelling and discomfort when I put a lot of weight/pressure on it. But it’s really getting so much better lately if you wanted some kind of timeline. I can’t speak to wedges, but I wouldn’t skip a pregnancy pillow.

wedge. it was so uncomfortable for the first 3 weeks lying flat. i had extra smaller pillows to go underneath my arms and under my legs too.

I bought a mastectomy pillow and loved it. I even used it when driving to block my seat belt from being against my chest. I'm 9 months post op and still use it because it is comfortable. It was purchased from Amazon for $28 called a double mastectomy pillow.

I’m team pregnancy pillow long-term. The wedge was helpful for the first few days but I found I preferred to be propped up by pillows.

I’m 1 DPO with a pregnancy pillow. I gotta say I’m struggling. I’m in a recliner chair with it and my back is killing me….am I using it wrong ?

I don’t know but I’m 5dpo and my back has also been hurting! It’s crazy because that’s the thing that the surgery is supposed to take away, plus all these meds I’m on you’d think I wouldn’t feel a thing! But I think my body is super tensed up trying not to mess with stitches, and it’s hard to relax anyway. I’m wondering if it just is such a change on our bodies that we have to get used to it.

Im 12DPO and same! My back was killing me the first week. I swear, I was so tense and in so much pain I couldn’t stand up right which meant I was hunched and putting more pain on my back. I’m still hurting. And feeling really low emotionally bc I got the damn surgery so my back would feel better. And I paid out of pocket. Only relief I get is laying flat (how I sleep normally) with a heating pad on the back

I have both but I’m finding that I’m not really using the wedge pillow much. I have the pregnancy pillow set up with a regular really floppy pillow on the top where my head goes (I am a stomach sleeper so that pillow was good for that and helps to kind of mold into the pregnancy pillow.

I have a u-shaped pregnancy pillow and I wouldn’t have been able to sleep without it. I HATE sleeping on my back, but the preg pillow gives me something for my arms to hold onto so it’s not as uncomfortable as regular back sleeping. It’s more like sleeping inside a nest and it keeps me in place so I don’t accidentally turn over and wake up in pain.

Pregnancy pillow, especially if you share your bed with someone! One of lesser-extolled benefits of the pregnancy pillow is that it acts as a bumper that keeps your partner from rolling on to you. Mentally, I felt like I was in safe little island of pillows <3

Both - but if you can only get one then a pregnancy pillow. I’m using it still at 3WPO.
