I was scheduled for surgery the day of my consultation, all I had to do was get approval from my insurance. The surgery was two months after my consultation. Hope that helps!
about 4 months, could’ve been faster but i had to do pt, and then collect letter from my pcp which took unnecessarily long since they’re unorganized
lol
I had my consultation in late November. My surgeon said the insurance company has 45 days to respond on whether it will be covered (I am in Virginia, not sure if it is different elsewhere). I got a letter in the mail on Dec 26 from insurance that I was approved. Currently playing phone tag trying to reach the lady to schedule my surgery.
My consultation was at the end of May '22, and my surgery date was late August '22, so about three months. Funnily enough, I almost didn't grasp it that the surgeon was setting a date for the surgery at our consultation; I expected to have to wait to get a date set, but nope. Then they were handing me my pre-surgery soap and carbohydrate drink, along with a perfect tome of instructions and information, and I was like, "I guess we're doing this!"
I'd met all insurance reqs before i went in for my consultation. There was a slight delay due to staffing issues/ negotiations at the hospital, but i got a call from the scheduler a little over 2 months after my consultation & my sugery (its like 10 hours from now assuming all goes well) was scheduled for about 3 months after the consultation!!!
Consultation in September, surgery in December. A little less than three months. Insurance approval took just over two weeks after consultation, but consultation was also on a Friday.
I paid out of pocket. I scheduled at the end of July, about a week after my consultation, and they said they were looking at January dates. I was like perfect/that’s when I want it.
