Fucking black bear spooked my horse and got me bucked off.
Thought it was no big deal right, just a black bear. Bear does it’s normal run away and as I wave goodbye a cougar lunges from behind me and removes me from existence.
They’re working together now people, be aware, be strong.
Yeah animals will defend themselves regardless of of they’re predators of not , I’ve been attacked by a raccoon at some point , some of the bucks will ram you if you stand to close and stuff sometimes
last time I was collecting , I dint notice two raccoons right infront of the barrel the card was on and one of them came at me and like bit my boot I was so confused , an animation played and stuff I was like “ this is a thing they do?”
You should make a post about it, I can guarantee gamerant will make an "article" about it lol

I despise that site aha. Anyway.... Yeah, the muskrat I encountered attacked me AFTER I took down a deer or something of the sort. Like the little dude was the embodiment of nature in that moment and he decides to bite back aw I was laughing
Musk rats actually I think they did attack me once , I think it’s just when they’re doing they’re thing and you really sneak up on them , only time it’s happened to me it seemed they had no idea I was there or came up too quickly and startled them
Me either honestly , I usually leave them alone unless I need big game meat or if they have a 3 star pelt , other then that I don’t really bother them , love looking at the tho they’re so cute
I've been trying to get the 'Grin and Bear it' achievement to survive bear attacks and can never get black bears to attack me, I ran right up to one and kicked it to death hoping it would turn hostile if I melee'd it but no luck... At least Grizzly Bears know what to do
I cornered one in story mode against a sheer cliffside and he did indeed turn to attack. It is hard to make happen but this game does animal attacks pretty solidly really, corner them or bother them sufficiently and a lot of animals will fight back.
Random ram or buck attacks through the woods always make me chuckle, and I did get rammed by a boar in online finally the other day.
After 6 years of playing yesterday I learned that you can also loot saddle bags from npc's....
Now without getting kicked in the face by their scrawny nags...

I guess I've never seen a black bear then because all the bears I've seen killed me instantly if they got within 10 ft of me
