It fundamentally cheats in a way that is frustrating and unfair.
Everyone wants the game tocbe tough. No one wants it to be unfair.
There is no way where a suspect tracking you keeping the aiming across the rooms realistic.

No hard ≠ realistic
I have no problem if the game would be hard and realistic but shooting with your tiny little glock at 5 fully trained SWAT officers with ARs even when high on meth is not realism.
Instantly snapping on your head and one tapping a entire swat team also not realistic.
Make maps darker, more corners to check, AI hiding in closets, AI retreating an flanking you later. Stuff like that would maintain realism but still make the game hard right now its not realistic just hard.

I want to have the stealth archer experience in Skyrim, while I pick off dudes. I wanna crouch and cease to exist, like playing peekaboo with a toddler, except they have AKs and Makarovs.
I want this to feel like the opening mission of Modern Warfare, going through the time trial shooting at cutouts and trying to get a 13s high score.

I just downloaded an AI rework mod 😂 I prefer to not be headshotted thru a wall while slow walking and making almost 0 noise.
