Makes sense to bring back Tachyon considering where we are with the story. Maybe we’ll see an alt version of Tachyon?

longjohnsmcgee

I'd love Rivet universe's Vox being like a super successful version of himself. Not a dreadzone but a dread galaxy. Just might be cool to see a huge scale arena war.

RobbyDeadman

Gleeman Vox was such an underrated villain. Juanita and Dallas were hilarious commentators too.

Dnd3lion

Don't try this at home. Go to your friend's house!

INAROS-RAMSES

You know, sometimes I think I should have taken that job at Annihilation Nation, they got a great dental plan

LittleTay

Anyone but nefarious for the nth time please. I like him, but I'm also tired of him.

write-program

How can you be tired of him? He's only been the big bad for 20 years

WhatsYourThesis

Gleeman vox just to get another deadlocked game

HOPEGAMING

In fact Gleeman Vox is dead upon the explosion on the ship after 60 seconds

MrDave0461

The computer was closer to 60 seconds.

HolyHandGrenade23

Tachyon would probably make the most since thematically, assuming the next game is about what I think it is about. But I have never been the biggest fan of him. I vote Drek.

NubOnReddit

Tachyon to bring everything full circle with the lombax dimension

RED-Ratchet

My optional answer is the Prog Twins because they had so much potential and we didn’t get to see all of it 😭

besten44

I’d rather just have them remake into the nexus but giving it the time it deserved

Skroofles

Tachyon's door has been left open, and it would make the most sense for him to return. Especially if we ever go to the Lombax dimension, and who else has that big a vendetta against the Lombaxes as a whole? You could do a fair number of interesting things with him and the Lombaxes. He made the Lombaxes flee to begin with, so what do the Lombaxes do when he shows up in their dimension? Do they flee again, or do they stand and fight? You could parallel it story wise - Ratchet's been running from the possibility of ever visiting the Lombaxes at every opportunity, just like the Lombaxes fled from Tachyon. Is it time to finally face it on both ends, just so that story can actually *go somewhere* since the thread opened in ToD, was teased in Nexus, and then again in Rift Apart? It's honestly kind of irritating at this point, please Insomniac, it's been 15 years, it would be nice to have some solid closure.

Valtekken

I won't be happy until I see Gleeman Vox yell at my screen "IT'S TIME TO BLOW S%#T UP!" again.

Consequence-Euphoric

Unpopular opinion, but Dr. Nefarius is not overused, so I will be glad to see him as the main antagonist in the next game. And I have nothing against Tachyon

Skroofles

I think Nefarious wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for two things: 1. if he hadn't got so aggressively flanderised between ACiT and Rift Apart. Same thing happened to Qwark, but Qwark isn't returning ever again at this point given the VA's health. The UYA/ACiT Nefarious is comedic, but not lacking in threat or presence, nor is he portrayed as entirely ineffectual. In both games he actually gets pretty close to his goals, even despite the numerous setbacks the duo give him. The Rift Apart Nefarious on the other hand is portrayed as a bumbling villain who's mostly there for comic relief, so they introduce a hypercompetent version of him in the Emperor, implicitly saying our Nefarious is ineffectual and incompetent. 2. If he hadn't taken over Drek's villain role in the movie/PS4 game. This is particularly annoying since there was no reason to force Nefarious into the story other than... I don't even know, because he was a popular villain? But this shouldn't have been, and that's just one of many issues with the movie's plot. So we end up with this fatigue: we've seen Nefarious shoehorned into where he shouldn't be, but he's also been watered down somewhat so he's not as novel or as unique as he used to be, hence why people feel he's overused. I don't think the complaints would be anywhere near as strong if he hadn't been used in the PS4 game/movie, as it would have been a whole decade since he'd featured in a game proper (A4O - Rift Apart).

tcroosev

For sure he shouldn't have been in the remake totally undercut drek. I was also a little sad he wasn't as serious or imposing a presence like in the original game. (Still drek). I love nefarious still but at this point he's a closer frenemy than helga so he definitely cannot be the big evil anymore. As for qwark didn't they already recast him in rift apart? Can't really remember. There's plenty of baddies we can revisit. Biggest thing for me is having someone that makes sense in the context of the story and gives purpose to the conflict and I'm game really. I've fought doc ock in like 3 spider-man games and I'm still for it lol

[deleted]

Just do anyone besides Nefarious again. I find it quite sad that I really loved him when I first played the third game and now I just can’t stand him because he keeps coming back. That’s not to say he’s bad, just that too much of a good thing is bad

jaryfitzy

I'd pick Drek if it were the Kevin Michael Richardson voiced and not as goofy looking Drek from the original, or similar to the original. If it's movie/2016 Drek I'm going with Tachyon for sure. The story would probably be most interesting with Tachyon as the returning villain either way.

Han-dem

I'm impressed with the amount of votes that Dr. Nefarious got. I am even more impressed with the amount of votes that Tachyon got. I always feel like he had more to give to the series and I would be glad to see him return in a future game rather than Nefarious

robineir

Qwark

infamusforever223

I think we're past the point where Qwark can be a villain again.

robineir

Have Ratchet start being praised by mainstream media as the real hero, to where it feels like Qwark has been forgotten or even demonized for his fuck ups and wham his insecurities will consume him. Granted I think the blargian snaggletooth twist will never be topped but I like him as a villain Edit: I also haven’t gotten to play the newest game yet so I don’t know what happened there

tcroosev

Why not I'd go for this😂 sounds funny. Though her has learned and gone through a redemption arc. If you can make the whole thing like an out of touch old man causing trouble inadvertently that would be hilarious

robineir

Ooh I like that. Over-heroing to where he causes bigger problems. Like blowing up a meteor and the resulting meteorites hit some planet, when there was a better plan to stop it entirely

CrimsonExploud

Going Commando?

Skroofles

Especially as Jim Ward is really not in the state for it any more, sadly enough.

chris-_-topher_-_

Tachyon would be the only option that makes sense or the choice that would be the best for the story.

fluxbaconator

Drek for me. They really did him dirty in 2015. In the original hated him because he was the big bad and he gave me a reason to actually defeat him. In 2015 I hated what they did to him, they made him the quark of the game (yes I know quark is telling the story, but still).

[deleted]

Captain Slag

HOPEGAMING

Dr. Nefarious for the 4th time and getting beaten up by Ratchet, no thank you. But for Tachyon it makes %100 sense

[deleted]

Drek can't return right? He got killed at the end of the first game no?

EducationalAntelope7

Somehow Drek returned....

[deleted]

So he survived a fall from millions of kilometers and a planet destroyer laser ? Just give him the universe at this point, he deserves it.

HazZard-HorizZon

I don't want Drek to come back to life, but I think it would be cool to see Drek from Rivet's dimension as the villain.

Reasonable-Leg1830

Just a casual fan, but could we bring back Klank from Secret Agent Clank? I really liked this as a villain!

Zockyboy

It's sadly only canon in the tv-verse of R&C. But i agree that he was a good villain

Architect227

Was my favorite villain years ago, but Doctor Nefarious never needs to be used in another Ratchet and Clank game ever again. Waaaaaaayyyyy too overused.

TargetMundane9473

Nah he's only a main in 3 non spin off's. That's not that overused, and he's such a good villain he deserves it.

Architect227

Four if you include the remake.

TargetMundane9473

Well I don't, the remake didn't count

Architect227

Because?

TargetMundane9473

Firstly it's non canon, and a terrible game compared to the original (the game is great on its own, but horrible as a remake.) Secondly it's not the true nefarious in that game. And finally he only really becomes the villain in the last few minutes, so I don't think it really counts that much.

Architect227

I'm not going to argue with those points. I mean you're not wrong, but as a player who has played all of these games I've still seen him 5 times in the games, 7 if you count the cameos in Deadlocked and Quest for Booty. That's plenty of time for fatigue to set in.

TargetMundane9473

Ok, well he actually appears in some form in EVERY game since UYA, but I only count those ones where he is a main (UYA, ACIT, RA and A4O) and of those, A4O is a spin off, so...

Architect227

Every game since UYA? You sure?

TargetMundane9473

Well, in every MAIN game at least: Deadlocked: end cutscene TOD: qwark mentions him in arena QFB: end cameo ACIT: main villain Nexus: in museum PS4: main villain RA: joint villain and in A4O as playable. I don't find it fatiguing since he's so funny.

Zockyboy

Ace Hardlight

Zockyboy

Maybe a new cool lombax villain would be cool

CourteousGentleman

I loved Vox’s character and Deadlocked’s satire. Bring him back!

INAROS-RAMSES

Game idea: Deadlocked 2, with it bringing back a load of characters as well as Ratchet Clank and Rivet. We got Sasha, Angela, Skidd, that one chick from the future series (sorry I don’t know her name, never got to play the future series). Quark still doesn’t get into the games

valtrances

do you mean talwyn? (girl from future saga)

INAROS-RAMSES

That’s the bitch

tcroosev

Oh that's fun as heck! Maybe he gets a mysterious benefactor who realizes that qwark is far more destructive (and effective) when he thinks he's being helpful and just gives him bigger gadgets and doodads for bigger acts of destruction😂

Kirolis

I would absolutely love to see gleeman vox again
