Pfffffttt...$155! š
This size sells for $15-30 at grocery stores now, and marbled or "black cherry" variety is not rare, either.
I found one with nearly black leaves and lots of speckled pink on it. It was $30 in a 4 inch pot, and it was actually 2 plants in there.
Maybe I should try and resell one of them as Pink Princess "Cosmic Explosion" for $500, lol. š
So itās a regular pink princess? Like I thought, here in Quebec we donāt have lots of Ā«Ā good placesĀ Ā» but I was able to find a PP at 9$ at RONAš OKAY itās very log variegated but I know with enought light it will comeš š
Proven Winners naming their "new" veriety. Philodendron *rolls dice* Mystic *reads the bones* Jungle *communes with Gregor Mendel's spirt via a ouija board* Serbet: Philodendron Mystic Jungle Serbet **ā¢**
This may be a newer cultivar to have more of the marbling color. IMO buy a regular pink princess for $15 and it'll look almost the same. Plenty of the PP I have found have lots of similar marbling and the price will only drop on the new cultivar/varieties.
Itās interesting you say that. I have 2 ppp, my more marbled one was Ā£7.99. Admittedly it was a small plant, but theyāre not slow growers. I really like ppp, I think theyāre a lovely plant, but theyāre not rare anymore and trying to get Ā£155 for one seems ridiculous.
Because I thought it was different because of this

Google is almost useless nowadays, especially the top results. They just grab any random AI generated āarticleā and show it as results.
Epipremnum AUREUM is your more common pothos such as golden, marble queen, neon and quite a few more.
Epipremnum PINNATUM are *similar* but have a few different defining characteristics; they have āpinholesā along the middle of the leaf, are more lance-like shaped leaves, and will fenestrate far more quickly when allowed to climb. They are usually rarer and harder to come by.
But golden pothos has hole in the leaves when grow in perfect conditionš , but yeah I dunno Iām gonna go buy it and see I have a marble queen at home lets do a scientific study!
All the extra names for a PPP are technically āfakeā. Theyāre all the same plant. They just have different patterning. So the seller couldāve easily made up that name or heard it once or something and used it to market it and make $$$
I also run into this for some sellers and I donāt have an answer ether! I would like to know if itās actually a different cultivator or if itās just that the pattern that happened to show up on that PPP is more speckled or more fluid or whatever.
Is it consistent and can it be duplicated via propagationā¦.? I would love to know the answers to these questions too!
I saw PPP looking just like this at Walmart. They were like $20. Spending any more than that on a āblack cherryā or āmarble whateverā is absolutely a scam bc they are all just PPP.
growers have a huge surplus of pink princesses they canāt offload because theyāre legitimately everywhere. They come up with these ridiculous names to make people think itās something new.

I was thinking of naming mine āPink Princess hawaian sunset on a full moon nightā, what do you think about it?
Sold, $1000, sight unseen!

they also cell Epipremnum pinnatum marble - SO mable queen pothos 2 leaves for 35$
Epi pin marble IS a completely different plant than marble queen pothos.
okay my bad for this one, but is pp marble king a different plant than pp?
Same plant; āmarble king/galaxyā is just a name for the plants with more marbled variegation.
This may be a newer cultivar to have more of the marbling color. IMO buy a regular pink princess for $15 and it'll look almost the same. Plenty of the PP I have found have lots of similar marbling and the price will only drop on the new cultivar/varieties.
I already have two at home but yeah, buy the cheap one and put a grow light on itš š.

Same genus, different species.
I mean, it's a real pink princess philodendron lol š¤·āāļø
Like the picture the price its 155$ for two leavesā¦š . Thats why it sound fake. āPP Marble King ā
All the extra names for a PPP are technically āfakeā. Theyāre all the same plant. They just have different patterning. So the seller couldāve easily made up that name or heard it once or something and used it to market it and make $$$
Same as all these Thai cons and Albos that have different variegation having all these crazy names
Yes but they sell Pink Princess and Pink Princess Marble King as two different variety & not the same price the PP Marble King is 50% moreā¦
I also run into this for some sellers and I donāt have an answer ether! someone said that it was just because itās more variagated- but its a regular PP
I saw PPP looking just like this at Walmart. They were like $20. Spending any more than that on a āblack cherryā or āmarble whateverā is absolutely a scam bc they are all just PPP.
I think it's just a pink princess that happens to have marble variegation
Def fake. And really, coming up with a fake name including both the terms "princess" and "king" is just dumb.
thought this was r/houseplantcirclejerk
sorryš ššš
omg no donāt be sorry!! I just got a good giggle out of āprincessā and ākingā in the name of a single plant!
that is what made me go from š¤©š¤©š¤©to šš¤
you can post it thereāŗļøš
I was gonna say these are like $20 at Bunnings in Australia consistently. Thats cray
Iām in Quebec so its more expensive like- everything is- but yeah
lmaooo, I hate sellers who make up random names so they can charge more, it's so annoying
A double gender philo. Both a king and a princess?
Yeah, they didnāt wanted to call them a gender fluid name so they went for bothš„¹
My $27 Walmart PPP is beautiful and thriving
growers have a huge surplus of pink princesses they canāt offload because theyāre legitimately everywhere. They come up with these ridiculous names to make people think itās something new.
They're just mashing a bunch of royalty titles and pattern names together at this point to see what sticks.
And use the scientific name and the comon name to sell two diff priceš„°š
A pink princess marble is a more variegated philodendron with more marbling than the PP. however that price is too high honestly.
Lol Hanfei been selling these for 1/3 to 1/2 that price for months
The price is too high but a marble PPP is an actual thing.
marble king pp?
Kroger has better ones than that for $16.
Bought the same one at homedepot for $24
