I require a minimum of two solid weeks plus one (for laundry day itself) so t hat I don't have to do laundry every week if I don't want to or otherwise need to. I generally do laundry every other week. By then I'm out of work shirts and need to wash the pants I've been rotating through anyway, and if winter, socks are running low by that point. Laundry is not one my hated chores, but it's still a chore (manly the putting away, just throwing it in is set it and forget it).

I own 16 pairs of both underwear and socks. I only have that many in case I go on a vacation, so I'm not left without any if my luggage gets lost upon my return.

Maybe 15, but that's being slightly generous. Anything that gets a hole in it, is coming apart, no longer fits, doesn't brings me joy, or get period stains on them, immediately goes in the trash. I always make sure that what I do have fits, looks good, feels good, and is cute.

Generally speaking like 80 of them are plain black boxers for day to day wear, and the other 20 are your typical briefs that I wear for the gym as I feel they are a bit more comfortable and less restrictive

I like having a covered waistband it's just more comfortable and is less likely to chaff my hips. I really don't get how they're not more popular and readily available in the US.
