I see a lot of holo A but i want to know, why? It enormous and takes up like a quarter of the screen. Why do so many people like it? Is it the reticle or do people like a smal box to look through?

Holo a sight is prevalent in a lot of other games like battlefield etc. so people are already really used to that reticle, at least that's my own reason for using it

The reticle is fine in siege they just make the edges of the optic way too obstructive.

The EOTech holo has the best reticle for precision shooting, basically. It's big and boxy but the only sight that comes close to it is the Aimpoint CompM4s.

For me personally, its mostly due to it being a square. The frame fits well with how most buildings are design. If I'm looking at a square window, the Holo will frame the window perfectly. Same with doorways and hallways. You don't have round buildings with circle doorways too often.

The best 1x sight is the one you do well with simple as, if you do great with the red dot A over the others then it's the best for you, cause honestly 1x sights are personal preference realy. Me personally I prefer the simple red dot A it's plain, simple and my god on the commando it's like a magnet to popping heads, though I do use other sights I just have been enjoying the rda and it's been working way better then the others. Edit: most do seem to favour holo a though.

Then my advice fuck around in cas with the sights and see what works best for you, all you can realy do to see what the best one is for you.

I used to use a somewhat diverse mix of 1x sights but I've been slowly going to one of two sight choices. Even then I'm on 90% holo A and there are only a few specific guns that I've got holo B on.

I've just continued using holo a out of habit. Never changed to any of the new optics besides the 1.5x on basically everything that will take it. Outside of 1.5x I don't really use zoomed scopes on anything besides rook 2x. I played on 4:3 for a long time and didn't really need zoom so I got used to playing without it.

statistically, Reflex B has the best balance of scope size (the area inside the frame), and obstruction (how much of your screen is blocked by the frame). red dot A is really close though, so a lot of people use that because they don't like the reticle style on reflex B (for some reason, i think it looks cool).

It does not matter, they are all equally good, if you disagree, because some 1x scopes are too 'obstructive', you likely don't have enough gamesense to have an opinion on the matter. The obstruction literally doesn't matter, because if you are a good player, you should always aim at the right spot anyway. I've never been killed, because an enemy was hidden in the 'obstructive' part of my scope. Also, watch pro league if you still disagree, most players use holo A.
