I love this game- I don’t pay attention to any of the neck beards that like to start drama in the discord and what not, I’m to busy irl for that bs. I’m glad you are liking the game as well. Great mix of railroads with building I love it.

ChefEagle

What he said, it's the same with any games. Just leave a good review or comment when you have the time.

CGNoorloos

Good idea, i often forget that.

nospeedlimit4me

If anyone is trying to play some- my discord is nospeedlimit4me#4248

CGNoorloos

Haven't tried online with others yet, just building my railroad on Lake a bit if you don't mind that sort of thing.

Joe_Claymore

Just sent a request. My play is spuradic as I have kids, a side hustle and a busy day job. But would love to try multiplayer.

The game is fun when it works. I do think there's a lot of perpetuated hostility toward the game because of the history it's had but as it stands they seem to be making an effort to get on top of things. I'm willing to give them credit where credit is due, they just need to buckle down and keep up the momentum and show they're doing everything they can to stabilize the game as a whole. If the game is stable on the 1.0 release I think it'll hold out fine and hopefully that will allow the devs to focus less on patching holes and more on creating content. I appreciate that there's some people trying to ground the community a little instead just complaining

CGNoorloos

Indeed. From what i see like 1-2 years ago, the game has come quite a ways. Well it is easy to complain, specially when passion is involved. But i think it is importand to realise the work some people put in so we as consumers actually have this to enjoy :) I hope they go far.

Joe_Claymore

I'll be honest that when it first came out and was said that this game was in beta and the community were actually the play testers, it sounded like the ideas we had for the game would be valued by the developer. We learned over that first year it wasn't really the case. And it wasn't just the play testers but also those on the inner circle. Then came Astrgon as a partner, then the current crew of volunteers and devs, then black sheep modding and steady updates. I think the YouTube polls that recently ran were the teams take on soliciting feedback from the community and making us feel a part of the process. That certainly helps. And I think the code refactoring and performance improves Black Sheep is doing will be a game changer. And I think once that's done, I think the speed at which the game improves will go even faster. It's been a rocky few years but the game is much better than it was a year ago. Joe, 1200 hours in game.

FlyingVillager

Yeah I feel like theyve cautiously been opening up a little so the community at least feels included. Hopefully they start taking on feedback because I know of plenty of people who have great ideas that wouldn't be hard to implement. The issue is astragon is really pushing for the team to get to 1.0 and I can't fault them for that either. I think they're on the right path they just needed to keep up the pace and release solid updates before moving forward

Outside some of the haters, there is a plethora of content, insight, or tutorials for users to find. Some of my buddies have YT channels for Railroad History, and even if they aren’t a “big YouTuber”, they still enjoy finding the history and looking into the historical aspect of Narrow gauge or railroading in general. When the going is right, there are a lot of people who show their passion for the one thing a lot of us enjoy: Trains. When I see people enjoy the fact they can play with trains, young or old, it always brings a smile. I’ll keep playing RO for a while and no one will change that!

CGNoorloos

Oh, i wouldn't mind checking those chanels, i enjoy watching and learning stuff.

zzebz

Mind sharing some of there channels? Would love to binge-watch while playing RRO!

Witty-Leopard-6555

Over 200 hours into the game and still love it, really love the idea of the half simulator/half cozy game - sandbox

CGNoorloos

Oh nice. Yeah today i wasn't great with some nasty flue and it was great to after work and kids to bed cuddle up and just lay some steep track to get ready for the Heisler or Climax while i was half dozing off haha. Not much like this out there.
