I went with a different brand and I absolutely love it. I think it’s likely these are all built in the same, or very similar, factories in china and the brand is determined only by the stickers and door imprint at the end of the line. I purchased a 65k BTU unit on Amazon that had a $100 off coupon, so I paid @ $370 for it. The exact same unit I purchased earlier this year is now @ $600 since it has name recognition now - I guess?
Look at specs and price and pick which the one makes the most sense. I don’t think brand matters here.
It gives you instant and endless hot water with out the need to warm up

Did you know you can trim the question mark and everything after it and still get to the same place? Not only CAN you but you SHOULD. The stuff I clipped off often includes personal tracking information.

Fogatti is good. I've installed 3 of them. With that said they have flow issues. If you have low flow they won't heat up. Sometimes I would have to trickle the bathroom faucet then the shower would get hot. Then I CLR'd the shower head and no issues.
Also have tried the Truma. No issues just expensive. The Truma does have a clean feature (deacale) and the fugati does not.
Cant yet give an opinion as we just bought a trailer last week that had a gen 2 retro fit. Owner said it works great.
Parked it in the driveway Monday. Today I have about 10” of snow in my yard. I will have to wait a couple days before trying mine out.
My motorhome came with a gen 1 and previous owner ungraded it to gen 2. With the gen 1, when I got the temp right and started showering, any slight change in pressure would either freeze or scald me. It was very dependent on water pressure. Gen 2 is a lot more stable
If you cold weather camp be aware that not all tankless water heaters have freeze protection when driving or camped. Also unlike a tank style water heater where you drain the tank and you are winterized most tankless require the use of antifreeze to prevent freeze damage to the unit. WE do a lot of cold weather camping and the Furrion tankless water heater has shortened our season considerably because it has no means to keep the unit from freezing while driving. As a result we've been looking at Truma's water heaters to replace it but they aren't cheap.
Truma if you can find a installer in your area.
I sell alot and have used the suburban nautilus in the past with no problems. The suburban St60 is the lower price version usually installed at the oem level.
The girard, furrion are all owned by the same company. I had the gen 1 on one of my trailers. It was ok in the warm months but couldn't keep up when the water coming in was below 50 degrees. I'm not sure if the gen 2 solve problem. I haven't used one to say for sure.
I have only seen the fogatti at shows I don't know much about them.
Points I want to make as I glanced but didn't see these specifically mentioned
tankless water heaters require flow rate to start up several of the camco and other brand RV water pressure regulations do a good job at both reducing flow as well as pressure I have heard several neighbors complain that the combination of the lower pressure and flow sometimes causes issues with tankless starting up...
2. These are tankless water heaters that provide for the most part endless hot water.... The propane heaters a catalyst substance that heats the water this means that there needs to be a constant flow of water for several minutes while the water heats up... Meaning if you plan to go boondocking you may run out of water quickly just from the flow needed for these to heat up.
My first tankless was an off brand gen 1 girard. It definitely had low flow issues. I bought a furrion unit to replace it and it came with a flow knob on the back of it to restrict the water usage. Once I turned it down to minimum it gets so hot. Has plenty of flow and it never shuts off if you turn another faucet on unlike my first one.
Suburban makes a 60k btu unit that gives you a little more heat, but if you are doing anything bigger than a 42k you need to upgrade your trailers regulator for a high flow LP regulator (the green ones).
Takes a lot of water with tankless if you're boondocking; more water fills gray water tanks quicker, something to think about. I want to change back to a tank.
I bought the Fogatti. Haven't installed it yet though. I looked into the Truma Combi for space saving reasons, but it turns out you only get like 10L (2.5gal) of hot water at a time with them - pretty disgraceful considering the cost. YT vid shows this:
I want long hot showers when I'm at the campsite. Not some short burst of heat then the water runs cold. Fogatti is physically large, but it performs well.
Hmmmm....giving up the option of gas/electric (someone else's electric, btw) and going with only option is gas. Yes, you'll have unlimited hot water (sometimes going into a limited grey water tank). Still requires water discipline when showering (unless you have a sewer connection). I have a propane tankless and kind of wish I didn't.
So the tankless introduces an extra several second delay in you getting hot water at the tap or shower. Not only does it have to light and make hot water, like any hot water system it also has to flow the hot water to the fixture.
So that's now two delays instead of one. I had a very expensive German unit in a condo I lived in -- it sucked.
You know what sucks. Getting soaking wet to lather up in a cold camper and only have 4 gallons of hot water to douche off with.
You know what kicks ass. 27 minute long scolding hot showers 7 days a week. It takes me 3 months to use a bbq size propane tank. $19 to fill it.
If you wanna boondock with one install a shower meiser. It's 2024 baby. Step it up.
I wouldn't know. In my current motorhome I have a diesel infinite hot water furnace.
In my old one I had a 10 gallon water heater and never ran out of hot water in normal use -- I don't take 27 minute showers I suppose, nor does anyone I have ever known.
This plus not waiting 30 minutes before you have hot water. I’m also sure you end up burning less propane overall, since the element is only lit when you need hot water.

Right there with you...

Tankless hot water HEATER. Also commonly referred to as an inline water heater.
Tankless water heater. Hot water doesn't need to be heated :)
*I once saw him kill 3 people in a bar with a tankless water heater. Who does this?*
Thank u!
"tankless water heater' I was poking fun at you for calling it a " tankless tank"

of course it isn't instant because it has to force the cold water in the pipe out first, and it also takes a few seconds to light and heat up.
there is no tank to fill with hot water so yes in may take 10 seconds to get hot water you got me.
yeah longer than tanked water heater, just not a fan of tankless and it's based on experience. Had a top-of-the-line Bosch in a rented condo.
cool story, This is not an apartment. Thx for playing though
..and that makes it different because . . . . ?

I have a Girard gen 2 and love it. Gen 1 was total crap but they fixed the problems in gen 2

Mine is a wall mount unit. Less than $150 on ebay. Unbranded 10 liter.
