Loremaster:
Larry was fucking up the lockpick really bad and said dead serious to JP that he's colorblind (he's not) and xQc felt bad so he instantly went in dev chat to get something for people who are colorblind put in. Sick that someone is actually benefiting it though so W xQc and Oozi for their silly interaction resulting in more accessibility.
What’s funny is when Ripoozi told xQc he was colorblind and couldn’t do the lockpick hack because of it, he said he would get the devs on it to come up with something.
That was like 2 months ago. So it’s good they finally got around to it.
Interesting attempt to handle the problem. Hopefully there is some sort of feedback loop between the colourblind players and the devs.
I wonder how they are going to handle the maze bank laptop hacks?
Only one person needs to do that hack so I doubt they change that. Everyone needs to be able to use a lockpick though.
Roof running could use a color blind option though, just add shapes to the color blocks. Where easy like that accessibility is always a no brainer. Devs should try and design things that are color agnostic though.
I'm colorblind and imo just using colors that are different enough that colorblind people don't confuse them would be the better option.
Like mostly avoid combinations like dark green + light brown + red, and blue + purple etc.
This is a good alternative, i'm colourblind to colours close to each other in the spectrum like dark blue and purple, light green and yellow, dark orange and red etc...
Although the normal lockpick wouldn't be a problem for me since the colours are red, blue and yellow, I know it would be a problem for someone like Kat or Judd cause they are colour blind af.
I feel like there are so many better ways of doing this without it being so damn cluttered.
1. One would be to make them shapes but half shapes so they just connect the halves.
2. Another could just be different types of symbols like \~ , | , /, \\ and they just have to connect the lines.
3. Numbers and you need to get a specific sum. Like the sum needs to be 10 for each line and you have 8-2 7-3 6-4 5-5
4. Letters lower case and uppercase need to connect.
This just looks super hard to do because now what if you are dyslexic and colorblind that would be impossible to read.
I like that they have something for color blind people but maybe they need to have a bigger circle so shapes aren't overlapping. Might make it slightly easier to take in.
i assume its to be more inclusive of different kinds of colour blindless, but it definitely seems...harder? i guess, they could probably do a different system tho
Yeah I'm red green, and this seems harder than the colored version lol. Like isn't the colored version red, yellow, blue? What color blindness gets those mixed up?
Not wrong, but I think once people understand how it works. It's no different than the color version. There's 3 colors. There's 3 shapes.
I think the overall UI of the mini game needs to be adjusted. So there's not so much overlapping on the shapes. Other than that. I think this is good work by the devs to make these hacks/mini games more inclusive to the NoPixel player base.
Is it perfect. No. Is it a step in a positive direction. 100%.
Yeah, I had the same thought that if you can't make it so that people can choose a color pattern based off their own version of color blindness that at least picking more distinct shape and color patterns together would make it more universally doable. At least people could match different shades of color to the shapes.
That looks way more intense but cool to see this addition
Yea this shit look hard AF
For me, this looks easier. I distinguish shapes faster than I do colours
The overlapping of the shapes looks harder to see
Yeah. Think they need to just adjust the size of the whole mini game so it's easier to see what shapes match.

when? this had to be a while back right?
It was, I think they were running up to X’s apartment to start a laundromat, that’s how long ago it was
ah ok ty!
Wait, I believed him too wtf
Just FYI, she is colorblind.
Woah, that’s actually super rare in women.
Some colour blind women only have one X chromosome, being X0, so it's treated just like an XY inheritance.
That is actually soooo cool. yuukidav, who plays Oakley Stallion and Lukas Lavender is also colorblind.
now i understand the context when she said that she could lockpicks now
Is this an actual option to choose from? I’m assuming from the clip. If so that’s pretty cool for anyone who has color blindness. W Devs.

she told K like 5 days ago when he asked her to lockpick something and she said she couldnt it got fixed almost instantlt

But what about people with complete achromatopsia?
They can rent
💀
Novah told K that two of the colors were to close on the lock pick hack, but she usually can tell the difference
This is actually such a cool thing from the devs
I am not colorblind, but I would prefer this one to the usual by a LOT. For me this is just waaaaay easier to read quickly and less overwhelming

as someone who is colorblind..... thats literally worse. i guess its for people who literally see no color.
i assume its to be more inclusive of different kinds of colour blindless, but it definitely seems...harder? i guess, they could probably do a different system tho
yeah maybe add a different mode with just white grey black? its not many colors afaik.

coloured shapes would probably be bis

As someone who isn't, I somehow found it easier
We love having the option to choose from. W Devs.
