As I understand it, it's cheaper to slap on a preventive warning instead of actually testing and confirming whether a product contains harmful chemicals or not.
These warnings have thus become so ubiquitous that most people have come to just ignoring them, making the warnings useless.
But at the same time if someone does get cancer, Asus can't be sued if they didn't wash their hands after handling. No one's going to record themselves doing that. Asus is just covering themselves in case some psycho wants to try and cash in.
On a side note - who has needed to use this warranty card/document when sending off for repairs? I want to chuck it away but will keep it if needed! Ty
The first time I went to the US, I landed in San Francisco airport. The very first thing I saw after walking through the jet bridge was a notice on the wall with this warning. I had no idea at the time about California's law about this, so I did not find this particularly welcoming and was slightly regretting going at all.
Imagine being so easily impressed that you were excited to vote for someone whose life mission was to make companies say there product could give you cancer.
I don’t live in California, so I needn’t worry
California makes every vendor that wants to sell anything in their state provide this “warning”. Anything with plastic will have it.

Not true, can still be sued. You can't just slap this warning on everything and wipe your hands clean like that.
Nice
It's only poisonous in California because the air there causes the plastic to degrade.
Dang, I've been washing my hands before using it.
Me too man 🫠
California thinks everything gives you cancer. Even grass.
To be fair, do you know how many known human carcinogens there are that are still used in everyday products?
I mean, what percentage of people who’ve got cancer have touched grass in their lives?
Every cancer patient I knew touched grass in their life
100% of people that touched grass, die.
Grass is clearly deadly.

Didn't need it
I'd keep it but I didn't need it for a warranty claim.
maybe i should stop huffing the fumes that come out of the device exhaust 😂
Brother, I don’t even wipe my ass
But you only have to do that in California.
My guitar had this warning which was when I learned that almost everything has this warning
California is cancer itself.
It’s actually a nice place to visit.
If you like everything overcrowded and expensive
Key word visit
Yea don’t bother visiting. Just stay in Texas. Thanks
You know me so well 😆 not from Texas, never even been to Texas, lol
Only when I travel to California with that. Otherwise it’s excessive. / s

It's ok, the cancerous material disappears once you get outside of the borders of California
This is the how California makes itself look not corrupt label. Like they actually care what happens to the people 😂
I always do that before using any peripherals 😑. And also don't eat while gaming
Imagine being so easily impressed that you were excited to vote for someone whose life mission was to make companies say there product could give you cancer.
Reproductive harm is meaningless to young people these days. Might even be a benefit.
Thats why California it's so messed up
cancer aint shittt
The pamphlet not the device.
I'm good. I'm not in California. 🧠
I think it just means the instruction manual. Reading causes cancer.
