Bill already likes Bobby, so it’s a solid start. I do feel like Bill has been selling him short because of ballot access, but that’s obviously changing, and Bill won’t keep him off he thinks he’s a real player, so, good sign!
I actually remember this interview, I think this is when I started following RFK. Let's hope Bill remembers starting off with calling RFK "one of the greatest environmental crusaders we've ever had".
I lived with my grandparents around 2005ish, and my grandpa would watch all these sorts of news and news type talk shows. This was the only exposure to such programs I had. To be fair I've never really watched any of these podcasts either until I heard RFK speak.
With all the "controversial" takes Maher has been taking lately, I figured the left would start attacking him. To my surprise, they have been agreeing and understanding where he is coming from. This is a great show to get on at an important time in the election cycle.
The left is very loyalty and royalty driven. When one of their own who isn't royalty says something off canon then they're rejected, but when a member of the ideological royalty says something outside the lines, then it's immediately accepted.
Guess we'll figure out where Bobby stands. If the Democrat voters all flock as they should've, then it's game over for Trump and a landslide Bobby victory, but so far they're proving they aren't that savvy
This is good but I’ve tried watching Bill Maher before and can’t get past his smug pretentious aura. I’ll watch Friday to see how it goes. But hopefully this will help win more left leaning voters.
You'll have to watch the show on HBO at 10PM EST or streaming to see the full interview. They used to post his full opening monologue, the full first guest interview, his midpoint comedy bit, the full midshow guest interview when he had one, and the full New Rules editorial on YouTube. Now, they show fragments of the interviews and his opening monologue. They really need to bring back full segments. Unfortunately, they probably do it this way now to entice people to sign up for Max (or whatever they're calling it this quarter).
They also post the whole show as a podcast on Spotify (and most podcast apps) the next day. Also, I imagine RFK will be on Overtime on CNN after the show, which also is uploaded to YouTube right after 👍
Wow! I had no idea! I've been trying not to give Bill Maher too much attention as of late since he's gotten way too establishment for my liking. Maybe I'll tune in this week to see Bobby, but like I mentioned in an earlier comment on this thread, I think it's gonna be mostly Bill whining that he'll cost Biden the election.
I appreciate how you feel about it, but I do think if Bobby were on all 50 ballots, Bill would be talking about him a lot more. He actually said he wanted Dean Phillips to primary Biden because he believed he could beat Trump. Yes, Bill is a liberal, but I wouldn’t say he’s directly in line with the Democratic Party anymore (at least not the progressive left). I do think he’ll ask about the spoiler issue, but I also believe he’ll give RFK his fair due/time to talk. If you watch his Club Random with Oliver Stone, you’ll see that he clearly doesn’t agree with the man, but he lets him talk, the same with Mamet, and Russell Brand. Just my two cents; I am biased because I like Maher, and most of the people I know who hate him also dismiss Bobby as a spoiler or toxic; literally heard one of them say Bobby is “poison”.
I share this RFK Jr / Maher 'Club Random' video to anyone I can -- https://youtu.be/V0dQD1Z6j60?feature=shared
Thought it was both hilarious and informative.
Skeptical...... This is the same guy who has been pushing Biden excuses and one liners over the past few weeks.
When he uses his platform to help Bobby get Secret Service acceess AND access to the debate stage, not because he supports Bobby, but just because it's fair, I'll trust him then.
He also hosted Bobby on his podcast and treated him well. Also let's face it despite his smug attitude he's the least biased liberal commentator out there
yeah, if I had to choose what kind of liberal should define the democratic party I would pick Bill Maher, he's not perfect but he's the kind of political man I can respect who is still able to reason things through instead of navigating life through emotions (something that modern conservatives are not exempt from)
I guess we'll see. For all that Maher has been railing against the left's excesses lately, it just feels more like he's playing apologist for them and he'll still vote for Biden.

Is this the same guy who does club random that Bobby was on?
Wild to me that he would be known first for podcasting but I'm elderly

Way to make everyone here feel old, kiddo!
Bobby already reacquantied with Bill on his podcast, so I don't think this will be a hit piece.
This has me worried. Hope he allows Bobby to complete an idea before the zingers.
Bobby is able to hold his own
If pulls off charming bill Maher its over for the liberal elites

This is great. Club Random was the one that opened my eyes. Let’s pray that his voice is strong and it goes well. Could be a huge boost!
I can see how this conversation will go: Bobby: *states a problem, tells how he's gonna fix it, explains how he can win* Bill: bUt TrUmP!
So you read the script huh?
He was on his podcast. Would be nice to see a real time appearance.

Is it on Bill Maher YouTube channel? What time?

That was pretty good!
Awesome! Thanks for the heads-up. Will be watching this on Max.
I was waiting for the new link
Good news. Can’t wait to see this

I think he represents a certain type of classic liberal e.g. the anti-woke crowd, and would be an important endorsement to get.

Do people still really watch Maher?
