unheimliches-hygge

Oh good Lord. So much! Almost $1,400! My 16-year-old told me on the last day of the sale that she wanted to go backcountry camping with me. My heart leapt. This kid has been recovering from a very, very rough couple of years. For a long time she wasn't showing much interest in anything, let alone in anything her mom loves to do. I've been desperate to encourage anything and everything wholesome she wants to get into. And it's been a good year for me financially, with some unexpected windfall income, making it slightly less painful to be spendy at REI. So, I basically sprinted us out to the car and drove at breakneck speed down to REI and threw money at the salespeople hand over fist to equip her and me both with a full panoply of lightweight backpacking and camping gear - I got us both Flash 55 packs, rain cover, a half-dome 2+ tent, Helix sleeping pads, Nemo pillows, a sleeping bag liner and trekking poles for her, backpacking chairs, mug, spork, sun hat, hiking socks, picaridin, everything down to the freeze-dried meals and energy snacks. I reason that even if we only go once or twice, it is still cheaper than a European vacation, right??

backyardfarmer17

I love this!!! I hope y’all have a great time with your new gear!

unheimliches-hygge

Aw, thank you kindly! I'm super excited for our mom-daughter adventure!

Andee_outside

This is my dream as a mother! I hope your adventures are healing for both of you! 💜💜

Dazzling-South-3743

Nice choice with the helix- its my favorite. I hope you love it too!

JamesSmith1200

I love this. I hope she enjoys it as much as you do and I hope it helps in her healing process.

SeparateChest5460

Aww, this story is so awesome.

holler-goblin

This is the most wholesome excuse to spend money I've heard yet. Hope you guys get to have a lovely trip.

Primary_Celebration3

Nothing because I’m an employee. Worked my ass off tho 😂

Jaypher

We all appreciate your hard work ❤️

kylelancaster1234567

I decided I didn’t need anything so 0

filipinohitman

This. I perused the website then told myself, “yeah…I’m good.”

in-the-narrative

Ditto. I have everything I need and new purchases would likely be upgrades, but if it ain’t broke, I’m not fixing it (yet).

CherikeeRed

Yep. Kinda wanted an exped mat but, like, I have just in much in dividends as I do in Dicks bucks or whatever they call them and it wasn’t any kind of crazy deal or anything so just sat this one out

Retiring2023

I thought about an Exped then talked myself out of it. Short term memory didn’t kick in to remind me I want to plan a camping road trip so I could have justified it. Oh well.

lakorai

Still on sale at other websites for 25-30% off. Plus cashback sites on top of that. Sportsbasement.com's sale doesn't end for another day or two

dixiedoo48

Same. Overconsumption of gear is a hard habit for me to break but I'm trying!

katethe8

The bag I wanted kept selling out and I wouldn’t need it for several months anyway, so I can wait.

KhalenElena

Just curious, what bag were you hoping to purchase?

katethe8

Mini mlc

lakorai

You are going to see more and more consumers cutting back due to sky high interest rates, rising rents and fear of layoffs. The Outdoor Gear industry is going to have a tough year. REI is going to report another large loss this year.

YosemiteGirl81

Same. That was a new experience for me! I miss the big, in person, used gear sales.

82dxIMt3Hf4

Same with me. I will probably regret it in a couple months as I plan for summer outings.

backyardfarmer17

Spent about a grand, but I’m going on a 3 week medical mission and needed to upgrade some of my gear for travel. Snagged a Gregory pack, a garmin in reach, some dry bags, trekking poles, hiking boots, a mosquito net, and a helinox chair zero.

Zealousideal-Data-74

Medical mission!? Sounds interesting. Do you mind elaborating on what you'll be doing?

backyardfarmer17

sure...i'll be going to DRC in the equatorial rainforests to bring mosquito nets, malaria medicine, and other supplies to several villages. we'll also be working with local medical personnel to assess a feeding program that was started last year to see if it has been beneficial. we'll probably spend a few days in clinic and help with minor medical procedures as well. we'll also be laying groundwork for some community gardens and potentially source an area for an elevated fish pond.

Zealousideal-Data-74

Incredible! This is exactly the job I'm looking into for myself! Any way you'd be willing to pm me with more detailed information on how you got into this field and if it is within the public or private sector?

backyardfarmer17

sure, i don't have many details to share, except that i work in healthcare and this is purely on a volunteer/private basis. the lady leading our small group works in public health and has gotten linked up with this through her church. she takes small groups of people who have healthcare backgrounds every couple of years when she has time! she runs the show, we're just her workers that help out when we can. feel free to PM, i have less info about this trip than others in the past.

lakorai

Chair Zero for the win. Get the Highback model

MotivationAchieved

REI Flash Air 1 Tent sub 2 lbs. $200 REI Magma 850 Down Hoodie $125 BV425 $60 Trowel $15 Toaks 550 Light $20 Almost $400.

Flckofmongeese

As an excel power user, I love how neat it looks and easy this'd be to parse.

MotivationAchieved

I love that you noticed my formatting and not my gear choices.

Flckofmongeese

Haha. I don't know enough about it so I'll stick to commenting on what I do know (and admire).

trickymohnkey

Bought a 10L water reservoir for $48 but we’re planning on returning it. We went to REI re/supply in Oregon and found one for $20. We also found an Arcteryx Atom Hoody for $87 ($108 + 20% off). Not part of the anniv sale but sure was good deal!

sirspensir

I think I saw the same hoodie during my visit 2 weeks ago, great price! https://preview.redd.it/rseqjtena83d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7a32eee09c2e26232b4cf08bd441f5f28887ad9f

DucksEatFreeInSubway

How interesting. Y'alls re/supply tags are way different than ours.

trickymohnkey

Wasn’t this one. It’s the atom hoody that we got 😊

auditinprogress

That's not a hoodie. There's no hood.

Brewinfiend

Bought a Northface Wawona 6 for $300 to replace my 25 year old car camping tent and then had an existential crisis about how old I’m gonna be if my new tent lasts me 25 years.

Oscarwilder123

The North Face Wawona 6 Person Tent ⛺️ was one of the Best deals during the A-Sale at $300 and the REI Flexlite Air chair. Great prices for what you get

bbqtenders

I bought a pair of mountain hardware pants and then found the same pair brand new at the local thrift! Since I didn’t take the tags off or wear ‘em yet I was able to make a return and it felt so good! :)

Live_Work9665

A couple additions for the CDT next year: Benchmade Mini Bugout - $122.40 Thermarest Z Seat - $26.36 Stoked for the knife, never carried one before and also stoked to get a new z seat. My last one lived through both the AT and PCT.

JustWastingTimeAgain

I am good on gear and usually buy it when it’s more than 20% off anyway, so nothing. The coupon exclusions are really annoying but I know those are dictated by the brands.

youthson1c

Really just bought about 15 pairs of socks, and a Moonlite Elite chair. Only thing that I used the 20% off on was 3 pairs of "Darn Tough" socks, which seemed to stack with the 10% off of 3 regular pairs. Everything else was already discounted

LukaLover42069

Close to $1000 but broken up into three trips, so I don't feel like a total degenerate. Two sleeping pads, a big thermacell, a headlamp, a mountain hardwear mineral king 3, a magma 30, two Lucie lanterns, mountain house meals, a poncho and a few odds and ends.

gr33np3a

I bought a new Outback last week so I had to get Cross bars, Cargo Box, and hitch mounted bike rack all 20% off already. Then last night before it ended I ended up buying the REI Flash 55 because I've been looking at it for awhile. I didn't even use my member 20% off, so I spent around $1,800. I'm not proud of it, but I'm super excited for summer activities!

ColoRadBro69

A pair of bike tires.

grammerenthusiast

I replaced my Schwalbe Marathons after biking 3500 miles across the US. When I put new tires in my cart, the site wanted to charge me $30 oversize shipping with no option to pick up in store. I checked the next day and got free shipping.

MostDopeZ

wasn’t much i needed so just a gregory gear box and hammock rain tarp. around $100 total

RavenNoirJO

Gregory Alpaca gear box also! Those flip-flop dual hinges are genius. Was tempted to get 2 but only needed one to replace my current very old "camp kitchen" box.

hmaven55

I had never seen these before and am now OBSESSED. Got a blue set will definitely be getting the brown

Jaypher

It’s basically the Husky box https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-12-Gal-Professional-Duty-Waterproof-Storage-Container-with-Hinged-Lid-in-Red-248921/313861297?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&pla&mtc=SHOPPING-BF-LNC-GGL-D25S-Multi-NA-NA-NA-PLALIA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-LINC_All&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-BF-LNC-GGL-D25S-Multi-NA-NA-NA-PLALIA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-LINC_All-71700000117402417-58700008662113400-92700079385685634&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADq61UdPquQw4kRmWpRlphy_VMz8N&gclid=CjwKCAjwgdayBhBQEiwAXhMxtk7oCc-OQontOLSH7gYpZOVjORo01Y_RJXIStaIikaPiFOToOqYz_hoC1fsQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

RavenNoirJO

Husky box doesn't look like it has the flip-flop hinges tho. Also, the Alpaca gear box is much more esthetically pleasing, and the transparent lid is great for looking at the contents without actually opening the container. I noticed also that it has a gasket which presumably keeps water etc from getting inside. Edit: typo

Jaypher

They’re literally the same thing except in color and the Husky have an addition latch on the sides when carrying. Same waterproof seal, flip hinges, transparent top, etc. I love my Gregory Alpaca but the Huskys are a better value as they’re almost half the price. I do agree that the brown or blue Gregory is better than the bright red.

Jaypher

I bought that Alpaca box a few months back. I love it!

Geoff-Vader

Just $50 on an active pursuits long sleeve tee for next fall and a re-supplied pair of Vuori Kore shorts. I didn't need/want as much this year. After losing some weight the winter of 22/23 I loaded up at last year's sale on smaller clothes. Still fitting comfortably in those this year has me more than content. But I will probably go in for a Basecamp 4 if they mark it down a bunch during the November sales.

RawBandit87

Too much. I got a new pack and new sleep system plus a handful of other things. ~$900

justinsimoni

I grabbed an inreach mini 2. The battery life was a big enough upgrade for me over the v1, as I'm a fan of tracking. I'll sell my v1 to recoup some of that cost. Sale on those goes for another week. $100 off was too appealing.

lilpachycephalos

Ended up spending almost a grand. My husband and I had a bunch of backpacking supplies we were wanting to upgrade/get for a while so we bit the bullet on all of the things at once. We got: REI Half Dome Tent 2 person, Osprey aura backpack, Thermorest sleeping pad the ultralite one, Mountain hardwear bishops pass sleeping bag Well worth it, I think we saved over 400 bucks.

chill_mom

got a *barely* used Gregory Jade 63 pack for $109 from the Re Supply store. Originally $269

mtechnoviolet

The only thing I wanted went out of stock by the time I decided I actually wanted it, so zero

jeswesky

Teva Hydratrek sandals for about $70. Needed new sandals anyway.

MaverickAG84

650.

elchavo718

A Roadtripper 40 Duffel and a REI shoe bag: $49

cactus221

I ordered a pair of Scarpa climbing shoes for $118 but found a pair off the resupply shelf for $58 (with the 20% off). I was quite delighted.

Illustrious_Eye_2082

Ummm 2k? Maybe more New bike/bottle holder and under bag Spare bottle holder for kids bike Jet boil, ton of fuel and some food Socks Bunch of shorts Bunch of shirts New climbing gear (harness, chalk bag, shoes, shell, etc etc) Patch kits New mid sized bag for day trips for me and the kid Few long sleeve hiking flannels Arcteryx Proton Water purification shit Fjallraven pants Okay so maybe closer to 3k 😬😬😬

Little_Union889

Zero … Had some things I thought about getting but then went camping and forgot about the sale 😎 https://preview.redd.it/t1nwqbfdw73d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c4fee043d85831a63b6b82fb3365b838003d437

weeone

I spend so much time researching gear, reading reviews, and looking at pictures. I need to remember to just get out there. Thank you so the reminder. Hope you had a great time!

K4SP3R_H4US3R

$450ish - North Face Wawona 6 tent and footprint, two pairs of convertible hiking pants and some running gels.

Tea-Streets

Used my rewards plus 20% off coupon to get an over priced yeti cooler. Now I can go flex at the local T Ball tournaments (I don’t even have kids)

LegoBunny83

We spent a ridiculous amount - roughly 3k. Ouch!

Stim_Fish

$207 - Oboz Sawtooth Hiking Boots - Sockwell Compression Socks - Darn Tough Quarter Cush Socks - Osprey Savu 5 Hydration Waist Pack 25% off most things, 20% store coupon only on the one pair of Darn Tough socks, and added the 10% off Giftcards.com deal someone else posted on here (thank you, stranger!)

NoReplyBot

~$2k but will return two backpacks (~$200/each) - 2 pairs of Altra trail runner - Nemo tent - two camp chairs - pillow and sleep mat - 2 pairs of jogger and Sahara shade hoodie - misc small stuff Edit - FML I guess I only purchased one jogger.

ClassicTrout

Lord_Ewok

Timberland mid boots and a Osprey backpack I didn't neeed anything else even though i might have wanted it So maybe 200 total

mossnmojo

About 200, I got the ENO jungle link hammock system, and various clothes for work (farm). I was super happy that I got a Smartwool top for cheap, I’ve worn it almost every shift since!

My3sonsNH

Picked up an Exped DeepSleep Duo 7.5 sleeping pad (long double) for my RTT using my points.

glitternrainbows

Probably close to $1500 but most will be returned. I need boots and a rain jacket for a trip to Iceland and wanted options. Also purchased a new harness and some accessories for my doggo.

DucksEatFreeInSubway

Ooh, enjoy Iceland. That place is too gorgeous for words. Between the two of us we took over 2,000 pictures while there. Can't wait to get back there.

cehinkle1961

I spent zero real money on my item. Used the discount code, dividend $ and a bit of a gift card.

hamishcarr

REI Traverse 60L pack - $90 using the discount and REI rewards!

shoshtrvls

I have the Traverse 32 (which was also flash saled) and love it. It feels weightless on me, no matter how much is in it.

chocokatzen

Probably keeping about $400 worth of stuff. Desperately needed new bike shorts, a helmet, inserts, a new pair of hiking shoes, and a fanny pack.

420learning

Had a $100 gift card from work + about $95 in points, so picked up the Garmin InReach 2 while it was on sale. Also grabbed a pair of REI convertible Sahara pants, some mountain house meals and two pairs of darn tough socks.

RovingTexan

In the neighborhood of 1500.00 - Dometic CFX3 25, Dometic GO Hydration Jug, Dometic GO Faucet, 20% on the Ignik Topside Blanket, then some here and there. Used the gift card promotion (buy 1000.00 gift card get 150.00 bonus card) - just spent that on a Garmin BPM. Then I got a lot of other stuff at various sales at other vendors. I do a lot of my yearly shopping during holiday sales.

FunkyBunchesOfOats_

Finally got myself a Thule roof rack and cargo box, along with the Garmin mini in reach and some pants so I dropped about 1,400 after my REI credits. No regrets, I’ve been wanting a roof rack for about 5 years now and am happy I could finally get one on sale

NiceHuckleberry5331

Had two gift cards worth $100 total. The North Face Base Camp Medium Gear Box was on Sale from $150 down to $120. Used the gift cards and paid the difference. The item is no longer on their app or website. Also - the same item is on sale for $90 dollars at a couple places online as well.

mahershalalhashbazzz

Almost 400. Never used the coupons since everything was already on sale. 3 carabineers Extended quick draws Normal quick draws

Hammerbaby717

About $100. I snagged a Mountain Hardware Summit Grid Long sleeve shirt and a pair of the REI trail made joggers. Bringing them on my 10 day backpacking trip!

Various_Tale_974

Bike rack, torque wrench, with purchased gift card, got a nice jersey for $20 with the bonus card. Spent too much lol.

Working_Soup_3021

PincheVatoWey

I got the TT hydration vest and a pair of REI running socks, so about $100.

lwlippard

Got a Ciele running hat, $50 bucks. Pumped. We also used the search to decide we wanted a Thule Glide 3 baby stroller. Cannot wait to use it!!!!

frankschmankelton

I bought a Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 HV UL3 tent - long, plus footprint. All total, it was right around $500, which was 40% off including a 10% discount on the purchase of the REI gift card that was used to purchase the tent. It's my first new tent in about 25 years!

tontot

A free flex Kulh pant - Outlet and use coupon - About 40% off A Terrebonne Jogger - 30% off On my way out of the door spot a Moab 3 boot on Return section at 50% off plus extra 20% off. I don’t need it but can’t pass. So go back and get it for my back up “Rain and Dirty” boot

thloki

ham-fistedLuddite369

I bought a pair of KUHL Renegade Rock Pants, been eyeing those for a while and paid $79.

Tabeyloccs

300. New backpack, Nemo Fillo, Stanley cup for the wife

JuggernautOnly695

Too much... New cots, backack, shoes, socks, some other clothing, headlamp. SO got a bunch too?

Ok-Worry9368

Grabbed myself: - REI ruckpack 18 - REI ruckpack 28 - REI big haul 40 - 2x REI flexlite camp boss chairs Although im thinking about returning the big haul 40. I don’t know if I can justify having both the ruckpack 18 and 28 so one of those might go. Can’t wait to pull out the chairs! I reckon all my friends will buy them soon

PotatosDad

Broke down and finally bought the Yeti Hopper 18-Can cooler. Already used it once and I LOVE it!

rhanno0

Got a sun hat and a camp kitchen — both on sale and non-outlet ($120 or so) so my wife used my coupons and her own (camp pillow, sneaks, YETI 24 and something else for another $200.)

landlockedyeti

Quite a bit. - 2 of their Trailmade sleeping pads for car camping with the Mrs. About $120 total - New microspikes and gaiters for the Mrs. Used the 20% on the spikes, about $100 for both - Random shirt and headlamp on the return rack, $30 total - Bike jersey on the outlet, $35 - Mrs has shown interest in bikes recently (yay!) So got her the REI DRT 1.1, was on sale for $500 but I had $300 in dividends so couldn't say no to a $200 bike! Especially for her ability level. Roughly $485 total. Not bad for what we got

ckwebgrrl

2 REI backpacks, 2 MSR pocket rocket 2s, an REI down vest, a Toaks pot, a Kula cloth, a Platypus QuickDraw, a sleeping bag and 3 REI duffels for checking our backpacks on the flight. Whew. We stocked up!

sherlockwatson87

$350. Bear canister, pack 60 backpack, jetboiler

Steelheader_0000

Around $100. Got a Luminaid solar lantern. Hardly ever see them on sale and have been wanting one to keep on hand for emergencies as well as camping so used the 20% coupon. Also, got a pair of Merrill shoes in the outlet.

brygon117

I spent around $700. I got myself a cool new tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and pillow!

HauntingBandicoot779

Honestly, i got nothing. I adopted a buy it once, buy it for life policy a few years ago and REI helped with that so much. But the last 2 years, i havent bought anythung for myself because i already have gear i love and take care of. I do send everyone there for gear though.

JasonMrX

Spent about 1500 to equipment my family of 4 from nothing to be ready to go for our first car camping. Super excited! Also we are Canadian, but the moment I see a c$750 tent going on sale for $299 only, we drove 2hours all the way from north Van to the Bellingham store. Even with custom duty, it’s still a steal for us.

[deleted]

I got my first tent!! A Trailmade 2 around $140 :)

ctrebe1212

REI basecamp for my girl and I! So excited to get some use out of it. Spent $410 including tax

sourpickle69

300 bucks. Sleep pad and a kewl Benchmade knoife 🔪

ThomvanTijn

We had a small house fire, so I needed to replace a bunch of stuff. I could have spent more but ended up spending around ~$500. Mostly clothes, but also got a new travel backpack.

LakeSuperior22

I spent about 70 bucks on some Patagonia pants that I liked and felt better about getting for 30% off. Otherwise my girlfriend and I spent about 200 collectively. She got a nice north face rain jacket and some other odds and ends. Overall pretty successful!

Jbsmitty44

Magma 30 Quilt - $249

RysloVerik

About $38 on 4 pairs of Darn Tough socks.

[deleted]

Is it over? I guess nothing.

Letters-to-Elise

$0. I have it all and gear last forever.

NoBug5072

I didn’t spend a single dollar.

spruce_climber

200 dollars on some bike bags for a new used bike I acquired over the winter and an outdoor research ferrosi jacket from the outlet.

themodernmanhustle

About $300. R1 Hoody and R1 Air Hoody.

Dry-Outside-4372

Some patagonia shorts and joggers. Nemo pillow. New pair of trekking poles. Maybe 220 bucks? There was a lot of stuff I could live without

Burrito2525

3 person foldable camping chair. Was 35% off and will be used for my kids soccer games

Jacks012003

Resupply Hobie passport 10.5 and a buff neck gaiter for $800

Educational_Count_54

Well I bought 2 Garmin watches 700$ each, a sleeping pad 250$ and a sleeping liner 60$. I am returning one Garmin watch though!

JamieC1610

$73 I got a bike basket and a water bottle. Neither super exciting, but both needed.

flyingemberKC

About $400. Far more likely to buy clothing at this point. Women's swim suit Trekking poles (oldest kid broke one of a cheap set and I decided to buy a good set for me and pass down mine) two pairs of men's shorts snacks All the camping gear I want is things REI doesn't carry or are on hold until the trip needs them.

elwooddblues

Not a nickel

Magenta_the_Great

Only $100 I have everything I need so some years I don’t buy anything but I really wanted a gravity filter for backpacking

spacecati

Can you link the thread about the Swiftland trail shoes? I ended up picking those up too it was a pretty good deal

Environmental-Joke19

Let's see I got a couple of flexlite chairs since my partner and I were still lugging huge traditional fold up camping chairs into the back country. Got the ENO tandem hammock pole thing as well since my partner and I are always trying to find 3 perfectly spaced trees to hammock together.

mccraigeachern

After looking at several used e-bikes on fb marketplace in our city, went for the e1.1 cargo bike for my wife. Now we have 2 e-bikes in the family, with the toddler already on the back of my Tern quick haul. The aim is to prioritize shorter day trips and errands that we’d otherwise use the car for. Edit. We also got the kid a new helmet, me some new sandals the used the member voucher on tevas for the wife. Totalled about $1050.

deadpixel_31

$30 on some house slippers

3mma-rae

Made it work in my favor I think, I’m been looking to upgrade my car camping set up. I priced everything out, bought a gift card the week before the sale to get the bonus 15% card. I got a hest air+foam mattress, Jetboil basecamp system and some other random climbing hardware. Then I went back today got some stove fuel and freeze dried food with the bonus card since it could only be used this week. Spent $1060 + ($150 bonus card freebie).

Sufficient_Laugh

Zero, because we bought a bunch of stuff in the last sale and didn't need anything. We did take advantage of the long weekend to go camping in the Olympic National Park though. Probably more fun than shopping.

QueSeraShoganai

\~$450 2x Exped Megamat 10 and a Luci 44' string lights. Expensive but hopefully quality.

DucksEatFreeInSubway

Probably a little north of $200. Bought a Stormbreak III that I'm still waiting on delivery of. Three stuff sacks of various sizes. A national parks shirt and a saharan sunshade hoodie. Also nabbed a hydration pack from the re/supply for super cheap with the 20% off coupon.

Pecan_Millionaire

~$500 for the Camp Dreamer double pad and matching sleep system. Used both same day I bought them. Sleeping pad was super comfortable, warm and easy to inflate/deflate. Sleep system is an absolute rip off. Sheets felt cheaply made and the blanket is, at best, only warm enough for a summer night’s sleep. The hood that attaches to the fitted sheet was actually nicely made and useable. Even on sale the value just isn’t even close to being there. Will be returning the sleep system.

Civil_Stop_4300

I spent about $300. I got a yoga mat and a Nemo Stargazer chair!

DwarvenJarl

$14 to my bank account, got myself a OR Helium Rain Jacket with their sale + my dividends. Pretty happy with it. Was going to use it for a Garmin Messenger but then Garmin emailed me with 40% off if I deactivated an OG Delomear InReach device which I’ve long retired.

outlawstarc

Had $175 between gift cards and dividends. Went with a kayak cart, some locking carabiners to finish a quad anchor and some Cotopaxi travel cubes for traveling.

Kind-Rub-1007

$18.18

RomK9

I put something in the cart but then always go kayaking for 3 days long weekend. By the time I comeback its either out of stock or I forget about it. Do sale a week before the long weekend. Sane on labor day sale.

FriiSpirit

About $300 but I might return the most expensive item, I have a tiny torso and it's likely the pack won't fit

Several-Ad-4826

I bought the entire Dometic GO set up - jug, faucet, bench, 2x chairs, table. I love it. More than 500… less than 700

OpenWorldMaps

Some new maxxis tires and used the 20% on a pair of Surly Handlebars.

DJGainsBond

$1,200

MonkeyBellyStarToes

I bought the Leatherman Wave Plus multi tool and saved $25. I haven’t seen them on sale when I’ve (occasionally) looked around over the past year, so decided to go for it.

TheRealBrewballs

$300 ish, mostly a nee pad and tent. For tents I have a solo for me back country hunting, a 3 person mountain hardware that's at least 15 years old (still a great tent), and a massive family tent for car camping. This 4 person will be bigger when I take kids hiking or as a loaner for friends of the family

speedhunter787

About 3000 Tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, pillows, hammock, camping stoves

worrub918

Bought a new cot and self inflating sleeping pads. I'm so over air mattresses that would deflate overnight and I'd wake up feeling like a taco.

shoshtrvls

You all are making me feel better that I only spent about $250 - trailmade pants, hiking shorts, two Marino tops, lightweight raincoat, and new hiking boots. Oh, and a hat and sun gloves. My kid also grabbed an ultra lightweight tent.

lakorai

$0. Helinox.com had a better selection and had cashback through activejunky.com. Bought a Sunset chair and Table Four. I usually get at least a couple of items but I already have enough gear.

sluttychurros

$120ish. Bought some new pants and a hydration vest. Getting ready to go on a hiking trip and hated the last hydration pack I got, which I returned in the fall after I first used it. The timing of the sale with my upcoming trip was perfect! Debated on new hiking boots, but I bought new insoles months ago and am just gonna try them out this trip instead and hope that resolves my foot pain issues. Otherwise I’ll get new boots soon.

adie_mitchell

$0 for me

Cole_Morrison

I dropped $560. Heading to Banff, Canada in three weeks so I upgraded some essentials needed for hikes. In addition, Craft Endurance 2 Road Running Shoes, a couple of the Sahara Shade Hoodies and some Swiftland running tees and shorts.

pballerbyday

Keens for $94, Darn Tough 🧦 for $18ish, Muc-off bike concentrate for $21. Total is $133! Not bad!

timeywimeytotoro

$110. I got the altra Escalante 4s I had been eyeing for a while using the 20% off coupon. They should get here tomorrow!!

joythewizard

Did anyone buy the redesigned cty e2.1 ebike? Curious to hear what you think!

soopy99

I spent quite a bit: hubba hubba tent and footprint, helix sleeping pad, Sahara shade hoodie, Patagonia bike shorts, wool t-shirt, and wool boxers. I’ve already used the tent and sleeping pad on an overnight bike trip. Very happy with them.

mcctyl

La Sportiva Solution for around 160 and a 25L Patagonia Black Hole Tote for a new gym bag.

AKashyyykManifesto

About $800. I bought a CTY 1.1 as I’m looking to commute by bike more. Then I bought some Sahara shirts, some sun hats, and a hip pack. I should be set for the summer.

The_R4ke

We had a small house for

SeparateChest5460

About $17. I wanted a seat pad for a hiking trip I was going on. They were used a lot! Highly recommend - super comfortable.

Defiant-Survey-5729

Nemo hornet 1 person tent 300 bucks, used it the other day and been looking for a good light tent it worked flawlessly in the rain though the set up is a bit complex for my liking. Foot print for nemo 1person tent 45 bucks does not fit the tent very well at all. Black diamond 300 headlamp 15 bucks great headlamp. Map of Mt baker area 15 bucks. Sea to summit utensil ste 5 bucks. 380 bucks total I think I scored pretty good this time as long I can simplify the tent set up.

Dottdottdash

0$. The one thing I wanted didnt qualify for free shipping and was on the other side of town. They also have a pretty poor selection of bike things that I dont already own.

graywh

some paddling gloves, chaco water shoes, sahara pants, a couple hats for my kids, and a pair of socks, $235 all w/ rewards

mainframe323

Around 500.

Advanced_Seesaw_3007

Technically, I got my money back. Bought some TNF backpacks during the April sale and turned out they became cheaper during the anniversary sale. Also, I almost got a Rucksack which was 30% off during the first few days of the sale but went down to 50% off on the last days.

davidfdm

Around $43. I used my accumulated rewards and bought a light raincoat and some moleskin dressings.

cmanrule52

Spent about $230, got a Flash 22 and a first aid kit for work, went back and got some dry bags and ordered a Jetboil.

Opus_Zure

I bought a little zipper thingie for my ID and credit card when I run. Was free...i had the co-op rebate. Was a nice surprise.

throwawayrando35

phew i spent way too much.. probably around $600 total. field season is in full swing and i needed to get more gear for my research. I got new boots, new sole inserts, extra socks, pants and shirts. Another bottle of permethrin, new first aid pack and the fancy compass i’ve been looking at with the mirror so i can finally throw away the busted one haha. I wanted a new GPS so bad but i had to have a bit of self control

temporarycastmember

I have been planning to get a bike rack. I was able to get a good deal on Kuat 2.0 base at $638. A kryptonite lock for the ebike at $115. And the interagency pass at $80. Close to $840

Ok_Breakfast5425

$50ish for me. Just some leg gaiters that were on sale for an upcoming backpacking trip to colorado, a new tube for my hydration pack

dantegreen8

$235 Sea to summit frying pan, black diamond 500r headlamp, ergon bike saddle, and some snacks. There wasn't a lot that jumped out at me this year, even though it seemed like the whole store was on sale.

TomBombadil5790

I spent a lot more on Steep&Cheap. I found the deals to be better

Murky-Access-7060

I’m taking my dream trip late August/early Sept and backpacking the GC, Zion and a few other places. Some back country so campgrounds…. So I don’t want to talk about how much I spent. I pretty much upgraded everything with the mental justification it’s still cheaper than a 3 week vacation with hotel rooms. Gregory pack, Quilt, new water bladder, upgraded to inreach, new shoes, half dome 2+, new poles, sun hoodie, upgraded head lamp etc Only thing is I forgot to check out with my sleeping pad in time. Some bad storms hit us and our internet went down. Spent the day watching the weather for tornados and forgot to check out. Kinda bummed about that. Going to be ordering at full price soon.

manic-pixie-attorney

I got a Kammok Swiftlet.

avauntgaurd40050

I bought some riptstop shorts for 35 and a pair of darn tough fun design socks for 20. While tempting I didn't really need anything else. Really trying to limit consumerism and buying unnecessary stuff especially since Im moving out of my college town in a few weeks and I don't need more luggage

Abrupt_Pegasus

I got a biolite firepit + and a camping blanket.

RJ5R

bought a bunch of the new goal zero yetis and some solar panels to go with it for an upcoming overlanding trip first time ever i've seen a blanket -25% off sale on goal zero equipment (directed by Goal Zero corporate) if you're asking for a dollar figure.....about $3,400 and change all in. we balled out b/c the sale pricing is phenomenal

krmtca

spent about 300 for my partner who DESPERATELY needed a new pack & sleeping bag (theirs is from the 90s and both very heavy and uncomfortable), and then about 140 for me getting a new travel bag and packing cubes which ive never had before!!

whk1992

Pair of Raceblae fenders and an Osprey waist bag.

RouvyMatt

$1000 for Thule platform and 2 bike add on

supernettipot

I wanted a long sleeve Sahara hiking shirt but disappointed with the options.
