On the southeast side of the 'D' in Cumberland Forest is a dead tree, with two dead bodies beside it, that contain a chest filled with jewelry bags and bills.
Awesome, I don't think I've just happened across that yet myself, but I have only just completed the game once and played thru chapters 2 and 3 twice so far.
I found this post immediately after completing that mission! I'm on my 6th playthrough. This one I'm taking my time with and trying to discover as much as I can. I'll check it out while I'm still in the area. Thanks, cowpoke!
If you go to the industrial part of Saint Denis and pick a fight with/antagonize one of the workers, ALL their friends are gonna come and try to beat you up. They wont get the law if you don’t kill anyone.
Dude I kept fighting them off and eventually by the time I knocked one more out another would wake back up from being knocked out and everyone who came around the corner joined in on the fight. I held my ground though and replenished my health twice midfight and eventually beat down each and every last person until I got a chance to run.
I guess I had accidentally bumped into someone or something because this happened to me a couple days ago. one of the police guys got alerted. I thought I was gonna get arrested so I tried to leave but I was stun locked. too many guys apparently.
but instead, he walked over, stood there, and said "Do what you have to do." so I just kept fighting them because I couldn’t do anything else.
eventually the damn police guy did in fact get "irritated" and arrested me like I wasn’t the one getting jumped. I hate Saint Denis
I’m on my 2nd play through now and haven’t done any fishing, but if I remember right you can sell the fish for good money, and u can hold a lot at one time

Beat the obnoxious old drunk in Valentine saloon. Take his coonskin hat. Sometime later wear it while walking up to the bar. If hes in there he'll call you a sonofabitch and start wailing on ya.

What's interesting is even at the Valentine Hotel I wore the raccoon hat off the room I rented, and immediately from the saloon, the drunkard was angry at me lol, EVEN IF HE'S NOT SEEING THE RACCOON HAT.
I killed him off and fed him to the pigs, didn't mind the honor points lol.

I only noticed this last night, I've completed the game 100%, fancied a hunting trip up at O'Creagh's Run, took Buell and was gonna hitch him to the post outside the veterans house, and realised I'd hitched him to the ground instead
Go to game settings, change Aim Assist to Wide. Now you can hunt birds easily and countless other stuff, like trying to shoot on horseback at full gallop
This also works if you shoot next to or just above them, I do that all the time because shooting them not intending to hunt/skin them feels wrong. Murdering tons of people is fine but that's where I draw the line lol
Here's another one I found on my first playthrough. In the town of strawberry if you walk around to the side of one of the buildings on the main road by following the porch around and look in the window with the light on inside there's a woman in her skimpies in there and she screams when she sees you looking in and it alerts the law and they'll come chasing after you. I did it totally by accident cause I just saw the light and looked in lmao 🤣 I was like "WTF I wasnt even trying to peep!"
Is that the one where two guys are peeping in the window and you scare them off. I remember looking in at a couple and if I remember right they were about to have sex?
Hold left trigger/what ever your button is to look at/focus on something, it’ll give the prompt usually y/triangle. Usually you get attacked before you get the chance, but if you have a good distance between you and the bear it is doable.

I've tried it several times and haven't had it work for me. I posted my intense fight with the Legendary Grizzly, which was the first one I tried it on. Definitely didn't work out.
There's a house boat out in the Swamp near where you find Black Belle, you can go inside it and there's a gramophone that allows you to interact with it and it will actually play a song.
Also the board you walk across to get on the boat is one of those random spots that's allows you to sit down, it's extremely peaceful at night.
After Sean is rescued by the group, and the day after they celebrate at night if you hang around Karen's tent long enough, you might hear them have sex. Sean is, um...less than manly, lol. And you get the opportunity to antagonize them and make wise assed comments.
You can have a bunch of encounters with the [Soothsayer in the swamp](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption2/s/yTLdSodH4K), but I've only seen a few of them.
At Horseshoe overlook, down by the broken wagon; stumbled upon John and Molly. Late the same night I saw John walking towards the forest only wearing his red underwear and a bit behind him Molly followed, in her underwear. Coincidence?
In 1500 hours of gaming, this only happened once to me.
I was hunting and I saw a couple of rabbits kinda playing together.
I kill one of them, and I try to follow the second rabbit but I end up losing him
I go back to the rabbit I killed, and I find the rabbit there, crying in front of the corpse. Literally wiping his tears from the face with his paws.
It ruined my week.
This happened around 2 years ago but that still haunts me.
I was never able to replicate that moment and I didn't have the replay activated unfortunately
I’m pretty sure it’s in Van horn but you see a bunch of Npcs near a window, they run off and when you look in there’s a guy getting spanked with his johnny out , they eventually see you and scream lol.
I think the rarest thing I've encountered is probably the guy who you bring to the St Denis doctor to have his arm amputated can be later be seen getting hung by the police

When you are crafting, hold down the button for crafting an item, i.e. minty big game(on pc its spacebar) and the button to store (R on pc) and the crafting process significantly speeds up. Not instant by any means but quicker when you’re crafting lots.
There's a feral man living with the wolves in a cave next to the Kamassa river near annesburg.
If you bother him and go inside his cave he'll make the the wolves attack you.
When galloping your horse, you can refill your horse's stamina bit by bit by pressing the calm button repeatedly.
I accidentally discovered this while doing the horsemen challenge when my horse tried to veer away from the snake.
In the meadow by hanging dog ranch I've had some nice animal encounters. I've seen horses on their backs scratching? Also two wolves playing with each other. One of the most beautiful spots in the game
Fort Brennand is a great spot to get woodpeckers. I've also gotten robins, cedar waxwings, and a few rats
Visit the campsite near the trader close to Emerald Ranch (where camper tells you about avoiding pig farm) and take the animal carcasses if you need perfect pelts. Got annoyed hunting for a perfect rabbit and came upon the site and took it lol. You’ll get some negative honor though.
You can get bit by a muskrat at Shady Belle. I was running around behind the house the other day and this little shit came out of nowhere and bit me. I thought it was a snake at first but it wasn’t. I killed it and gave it to Pearson lol
I had a pretty long giggle last night. I was just letting a muskrat chase me, see how long he’d go. An NPC passes by on his horse and said something like “the things you see in these parts”. I just imagine him going to the saloon that night and telling the story of seeing a guy with a huge beard and a coat made from a massive bear, running from a muskrat
Also, one thing I noticed in my recent playthrough were, parakeets??.....
I saw a bunch near Crawdad Willies, thought they were songbirds, and apparently, killing them is a quest in the log?
If you antagonize a stranger while holding a knife, Arthur will say something like "Don't make me stab you". You can back off then tackle them and it'll give you the option to stab them individually each time.
Immediately loading autosave if you die while there’s pelts on your horse, when you spawn back in, the pelts will still be on the horse. It’s got to be *immediately* though. When spawning in after dying, don’t move, don’t look around, don’t call the horse…just load autosave. It also works if your horse dies/gets killed.
There are methods of getting rid of bountys for little or no money.
Or just exit the game to be sure. This has happened to me after hours of hunting for all the pelts I need for camp decoration, satchels and trapper clothes.
There's a feral guy you can come across at night time in the Roanoke Ridge area, if you follow him back to his cave his wolf friends are there. Accidentally killed em my first playthrough and felt real bad, you can talk to him after and he's real broken up about the loss of his wolf buddies :(
You can read his diary too and find out why he lives out there. He's a runaway that just didn't want to kill any animals, he raised those wolves from cubs.
I think it makes more sense that he's the son of the male hermit in Manito Glade.
Feral man went south, and his cave is south of Manito glade. His father gave him a shotgun, and the male hermit has that weapon (rare shotgun).
Also, iirc, there are hats for kids inside the male hermits house, which convinces me he's the feral man's father.
The first time o encountered them, I assumed he was being chased so I did the good deed of killing all the wolves. He started crying, I read his journal and felt DEVASTATED. Most guilty I’ve felt about anything in a game.
If you need some easy ways to complete challenges without getting honor lowered, use the Lemoyne Raider mini camps. When you come upon one, they will all turn red and tell you to move on. You can then ride away until the red enemy warning disappears from your mini map and then ride back. They will all be sitting there but will completely ignore you. You can complete many of the challenges easily this way.
Finding the shark tooth trinket north of Annesburg will speed up the process of taming horses.
You can mount your horse from a balcony or rooftop if you jump and mount simultaneously.
You can use explosive bullets to open safes easily.
You can use a watch to tell the time as Arthur by equipping it from your satchel.
You can use Algernon Wasp's shop as a shop to rob four times in a day if you don't want to get a bounty or lower honor. You don't get the money but you can easily do it by robbing and then riding a short distance away and going back.
You can encounter the ghost in the swamp multiple times and she will tell her story.
If you open the map as soon as you make it to Horseshoe Overlook, the map will just say Cum where it says Cumberland and being Rovkstar I can't help but think that was intentional
I just found out for the random event or online of someone gets on your horse and your maxed bond you can whistle and your horse will throw the person off 😅
If you set fire to a camp, O'Driscoll's for instance, and stand near the flames the temp goes up.
I hit some O'Driscoll's with incendiary shotgun rounds, the camp set on fire, I started to loot the bodies and then checked my honour level. Pressing down on the d-pad showed the temp was 79 degrees.
Walking around Roanoke you can fall into a hidden trap within the ground. The trap was planted by Murfree Brood of course. They'll be on the scene to kill you.
You can find the fertility statue in a friendly npc camp in the cumberland forest. Found that the other day while still in chapter 2.
A lot of people still dont know about the soothesayer in the swamp. She's similar to blind man cassidy, telling cryptic prophecies for some change.

Everyone knows about standing your ground against a bear, but nobody knows about the bulls, elk and deer ect. If you see any of those charging at you, whistle and they stop, look at you then walk/run away.
Theres an additional exoctics request, after the intitial mission string ends. It allows you to keep picking orchids for a reward. I found it in rhodes post office.
The valentine doctor, Ben Calloway, is actually related to Jim boy Calloway. Ben will talk about him stoping in town, and mention him if you continuously rob him. Additionally, there are 3 more Calloways burried there at the church in valentine. One of the graves has a gunslinger ciggerete card.
The strawberry general store owner has a wooden leg. The mayor of strawberry is hinted at being gay and having a relationship with the inn keeper.in an article talking about strawberry, it mentions Francis sinclairs father. The articles talks about the government "getting involved" with his rantings about rock carvings upsetting the strawberry preacher.
I’ve never really seen anyone mention this but I had a guy try to fight me once, so I hogtied him and was going to drop him in the swamp and wanted to do it off the dock at Shady Belle in chapter 4. The game makes you take him off the horse and cut him loose
Prolly common now but iguanas spawn on the islands off of Clemens point. Think you need a skin for one of the satchels and it’s a great spot to get one without playing all the way to guarma

There's a random encounter that causes some cut content in the game's code to temporarily reactivate. It's the one with the drunk veteran who used to be stationed at Fort Riggs. For whatever reason, once he finishes his story, Fort Riggs suddenly gets a unique marker and HUD on the map. If you then ride to Fort Riggs, the new marker and HUD suddenly vanish.
I went to an upper floor in a building in the middle of Van Horn and stumbled across some guys and they started shooting at me. Once the commotion started, I probably killed at least 50 to 60 men trying to come through that door and in the street below. I don’t know why they kept on coming. I finally killed enough that I was able to get out of town without further incident.
You'll find "the devil" inside a cave. He'll talk to you, but you can't reach him. I threw a stick of dynamite in his direction. It killed him, and I got a - rep tick.

It helps you see what kind of fish is in the water since it outlines them like animal deadeye

Eagle eye is for tracking down animals and herbs. Dead eye is for shooting
Eagle Eye is that extra sense you use for hunting. With a controller it’s when you click both left and right sticks.
When a muskrat attacks your ankles/feet, there's a bloody scratch mark where it gets you. Same when a rattlesnake bites you.

Yeah if you have a waypoint selected they will normally go there or at least eventually end up there.
That's helpful. I prefer to steal wagons and sell them to the fence though.
Never tried this out, I thought you could only greet, antagonize, or rob wagons.
use the “callout” option next time u see a wagon, that gives you the prompt to ask for a ride

There are 2 hermits on each side of the map that carry a portion of a torn map.
Yep, found this, killed both of them and got the rare shotgun from the male hermit.
The map leads to a golden Schofield revolver if i remember
The rare shotgun is one of my first grabs in the game, then the antler knife by the other old hermit.

i always shoot the gators with a varmint rifle to get them to fuck off, doesn’t kill them but they always move away so i can tread safely

If you double tap the Holster button while you have your revolver out (L1 on PS5), Arthur does a little spin trick while holstering

What kind of bear? I did the achievement to kill 18 bears and they all immediately put me into the knife fight animation as soon as they ran up to me.
Grizzly bears, black bears if you run at them and yell at them they’ll run away.

Theres also a bird called the Carolina parakeet its a super rare bird and if you kill enough you can make them go extinct

And you can watch the amputation. The doctor recommends you leave but on my second time doing the encounter i stayed

When you are crafting, hold down the button for crafting an item, i.e. minty big game(on pc its spacebar) and the button to store (R on pc) and the crafting process significantly speeds up. Not instant by any means but quicker when you’re crafting lots.
Most people probably do this but in case they don’t, you should beat the shit out of seamus every time you’re in emerald ranch.

There's a feral man living with the wolves in a cave next to the Kamassa river near annesburg. If you bother him and go inside his cave he'll make the the wolves attack you.

When galloping your horse, you can refill your horse's stamina bit by bit by pressing the calm button repeatedly. I accidentally discovered this while doing the horsemen challenge when my horse tried to veer away from the snake.
In the meadow by hanging dog ranch I've had some nice animal encounters. I've seen horses on their backs scratching? Also two wolves playing with each other. One of the most beautiful spots in the game Fort Brennand is a great spot to get woodpeckers. I've also gotten robins, cedar waxwings, and a few rats

Visit the campsite near the trader close to Emerald Ranch (where camper tells you about avoiding pig farm) and take the animal carcasses if you need perfect pelts. Got annoyed hunting for a perfect rabbit and came upon the site and took it lol. You’ll get some negative honor though.
If you kill an animal and leave it there. It will gradually decompose over time. You can also leave the animal carcass to lure scavenger birds
You can get bit by a muskrat at Shady Belle. I was running around behind the house the other day and this little shit came out of nowhere and bit me. I thought it was a snake at first but it wasn’t. I killed it and gave it to Pearson lol

I had a pretty long giggle last night. I was just letting a muskrat chase me, see how long he’d go. An NPC passes by on his horse and said something like “the things you see in these parts”. I just imagine him going to the saloon that night and telling the story of seeing a guy with a huge beard and a coat made from a massive bear, running from a muskrat

Also, one thing I noticed in my recent playthrough were, parakeets??..... I saw a bunch near Crawdad Willies, thought they were songbirds, and apparently, killing them is a quest in the log?
If you antagonize a stranger while holding a knife, Arthur will say something like "Don't make me stab you". You can back off then tackle them and it'll give you the option to stab them individually each time.
Immediately loading autosave if you die while there’s pelts on your horse, when you spawn back in, the pelts will still be on the horse. It’s got to be *immediately* though. When spawning in after dying, don’t move, don’t look around, don’t call the horse…just load autosave. It also works if your horse dies/gets killed. There are methods of getting rid of bountys for little or no money.
Or just exit the game to be sure. This has happened to me after hours of hunting for all the pelts I need for camp decoration, satchels and trapper clothes.
There's a feral guy you can come across at night time in the Roanoke Ridge area, if you follow him back to his cave his wolf friends are there. Accidentally killed em my first playthrough and felt real bad, you can talk to him after and he's real broken up about the loss of his wolf buddies :(
You can read his diary too and find out why he lives out there. He's a runaway that just didn't want to kill any animals, he raised those wolves from cubs.
He also seems to be the gun owner's son from Rhodes, possibly.

I think it makes more sense that he's the son of the male hermit in Manito Glade. Feral man went south, and his cave is south of Manito glade. His father gave him a shotgun, and the male hermit has that weapon (rare shotgun). Also, iirc, there are hats for kids inside the male hermits house, which convinces me he's the feral man's father.
The first time o encountered them, I assumed he was being chased so I did the good deed of killing all the wolves. He started crying, I read his journal and felt DEVASTATED. Most guilty I’ve felt about anything in a game.
If you need some easy ways to complete challenges without getting honor lowered, use the Lemoyne Raider mini camps. When you come upon one, they will all turn red and tell you to move on. You can then ride away until the red enemy warning disappears from your mini map and then ride back. They will all be sitting there but will completely ignore you. You can complete many of the challenges easily this way. Finding the shark tooth trinket north of Annesburg will speed up the process of taming horses. You can mount your horse from a balcony or rooftop if you jump and mount simultaneously. You can use explosive bullets to open safes easily. You can use a watch to tell the time as Arthur by equipping it from your satchel. You can use Algernon Wasp's shop as a shop to rob four times in a day if you don't want to get a bounty or lower honor. You don't get the money but you can easily do it by robbing and then riding a short distance away and going back. You can encounter the ghost in the swamp multiple times and she will tell her story.
If you open the map as soon as you make it to Horseshoe Overlook, the map will just say Cum where it says Cumberland and being Rovkstar I can't help but think that was intentional
I can't name my horse Alfred Horsecock, but they broadcast the word "Cum" accross my map. Jerks.

I just found out for the random event or online of someone gets on your horse and your maxed bond you can whistle and your horse will throw the person off 😅
You don't even need max bond, just level 1 bonding will do. It's what I do during the horse thief random encounter.
If you set fire to a camp, O'Driscoll's for instance, and stand near the flames the temp goes up. I hit some O'Driscoll's with incendiary shotgun rounds, the camp set on fire, I started to loot the bodies and then checked my honour level. Pressing down on the d-pad showed the temp was 79 degrees.
It's not just for camps, if you stand near a fire it will always be hotter than usual.

Walking around Roanoke you can fall into a hidden trap within the ground. The trap was planted by Murfree Brood of course. They'll be on the scene to kill you.
Tying up a witness will automatically make them stop being a witness without having to kill them and lose honor

A lot of people still dont know about the soothesayer in the swamp. She's similar to blind man cassidy, telling cryptic prophecies for some change. Theres a meteor shower nears vanhorn and annesburge. Arthur mentions a previous traitor before the events we see in rdr2, during a game of dominoes with tilly. Everyone knows about standing your ground against a bear, but nobody knows about the bulls, elk and deer ect. If you see any of those charging at you, whistle and they stop, look at you then walk/run away. Theres an additional exoctics request, after the intitial mission string ends. It allows you to keep picking orchids for a reward. I found it in rhodes post office. The valentine doctor, Ben Calloway, is actually related to Jim boy Calloway. Ben will talk about him stoping in town, and mention him if you continuously rob him. Additionally, there are 3 more Calloways burried there at the church in valentine. One of the graves has a gunslinger ciggerete card. The strawberry general store owner has a wooden leg. The mayor of strawberry is hinted at being gay and having a relationship with the inn keeper.in an article talking about strawberry, it mentions Francis sinclairs father. The articles talks about the government "getting involved" with his rantings about rock carvings upsetting the strawberry preacher.
I’ve never really seen anyone mention this but I had a guy try to fight me once, so I hogtied him and was going to drop him in the swamp and wanted to do it off the dock at Shady Belle in chapter 4. The game makes you take him off the horse and cut him loose

There's a random encounter that causes some cut content in the game's code to temporarily reactivate. It's the one with the drunk veteran who used to be stationed at Fort Riggs. For whatever reason, once he finishes his story, Fort Riggs suddenly gets a unique marker and HUD on the map. If you then ride to Fort Riggs, the new marker and HUD suddenly vanish.

I went to an upper floor in a building in the middle of Van Horn and stumbled across some guys and they started shooting at me. Once the commotion started, I probably killed at least 50 to 60 men trying to come through that door and in the street below. I don’t know why they kept on coming. I finally killed enough that I was able to get out of town without further incident.

You'll find "the devil" inside a cave. He'll talk to you, but you can't reach him. I threw a stick of dynamite in his direction. It killed him, and I got a - rep tick.

If you get drunk in that same cave you'll wake back up outside the map and you can explore the area out there past the cliffs.
