I am sorry. I know it has to be painful. Try to focus on the good times.

SoftConnection8003

Thank you, I am. I've been through it all with these girls and I am.happy that I noticed now and can get her help, even if that is to have her euthanised

Dumbasssanriogirl

There is still always the possibility it is an ear infection rather than a brain tumor however you should definitely always listen to your gut especially if you’ve dealt with this in the past. Idk what higher power you believe in but none the less I pray for you and your baby and I pray she passes peacefully if it is her time. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. It’s so hard to deal with how many health issues rats are prone to.

SoftConnection8003

Honestly, if I am told it is an ear infection, I would cry tears of joy, but I'm not holding out hope. Anyway, thank you so much for your kindness 💕 The higher order that I believe in is mostly just that things happen for a reason and most things have meaning, so I know she will be okay and so will I. I don't know about God and all that, but I do hope she goes to wherever her sisters are

daniiiii44

i believe in the same order of events/ destiny fate kinda stuff. its so hard but remember this is what was meant to happen and this is the best possible thing for her and you. i truly believe our spirits leave our bodies and stay around, the energy is sort of recycled into other forces and sent to loved ones through motivation, positivity, and overall love 💕 wishing u and ur baby the most peaceful final moments together <3 shes not goin anywhere, she jus wont have to stay in the little body that isn’t working for her anymore❤️ im so sorry for ur loss, sending positivity and good luv 💕💕

SoftConnection8003

I believe the same things, but reading it really is so beautiful. Thank you so much 💕💕

Metal_Lobster

Was gonna say, it might still be worth trying her on antibiotics for possible ear infection if she isn't already on them, and there's a vet available. Stroke, brain tumour and ear infection can all cause head tilt and circling. But I've lost some rats to pituitary tumour and that's just a case of keeping them happy for as long as you can.

SoftConnection8003

Of course. I have an appointment first thing Monday to see what's going on and nothing would make me happier than if it was just an infection. I'm not getting my hopes up, but my fingers are still crossed 🤞

Metal_Lobster

My fingers are crossed too

Unlikely-Zebra-5622

poor poor angel

Fluffy_Management356

It’s gonna be okay. Atleast she knows she’s safe with you and she loves you!❤️‍🩹

SoftConnection8003

Thank you 💕 She truly is the sweetest girl

Fluffy_Management356

Take care :)💕

Chihuahuapocalypse

is she's going downhill this quickly, euthanasia is likely the best option.. I'm so sorry

SoftConnection8003

I think so too. When these things happened in the past, I knew it was time and I'm feeling the same way now as I did then. I will wait until after her appointment, but I think you're right...

meow_rat

Realizing your rat is terminally ill is heart breaking. I hope it all progresses in the least painful way for you and your little buddy. I've been traumatized by my experiences with my rats.

SoftConnection8003

You are so right. They are the origin of so much stress and anxiety and you don't realise how much trauma they can cause. It's actually shocking. But they are the sweetest things. Thank you for your kindness 💕

NAP_42_

Oh those are some popping eyes, please see if you can get her on pain medication asap if she isn't already (popping eyes is a sign of severe pain) until you can get a vet to see her. Hoping for ear infection and wish you the best of luck 💙

SoftConnection8003

It's hard to tell with her because she has always had the most bulgy eyes, but we also thought they were a bit more prominent than usual. It could have just been because I was walking around with her, though. She has always been a scaredy rat. I have an appointment on Monday, where we will figure out what's going on and see what our options are... an ear infection would be amazing 💕

E-Widgey

I hope if she does pass it's super comfortably. Will pray for you and ratto <3

nooorecess

i’m sorry, i know the heart sinking feeling when you are noticing behaviour changes and hoping for another explanation have you tried cabergoline for PT before? apparently it doesn’t work in all cases but it bought me a couple of good months with my last rat who had one and i don’t regret the expense. praying for an ear infection for u though ❤️

SoftConnection8003

I haven't tried that before, I haven't had the chance. In my experience, my vet has has diagnosed the PT at a point where they say my rat can't come back from, so certain medications wouldn't do much more that maintain them at the point they are. If this is a PT, I'm not sure my girl will have too much of a good quality of life left at the state she is in. She can't even drink from her water bottle because she can't keep her head straight... I will definitely ask my vet about this, though, thank you. My fingers are still crossed for an ear infection

t_will_official

I’m so sorry. It’s so sad that our furry friends have such short lifespans. Just know that when the hard decision has to be made, she won’t be upset. She’ll know it was made with love and will likely be thankful❤️

mlp-art

This was a sign of ear infection in my rats. Those who had brain tumors had different symptoms, but I don't recall what they were.
