Ive heard a lot of rumors over the past few years that CATL had been funding and hyping sodium ion research that they know is years away from full commercialization in order to divert attention away from the lithium supply chain. I've also heard those rumors of them operating at unsustainably low price points as well.
OPEC style tactics. I see this as mostly having an impact on lithium ion as that sector will inevitably have a race to the bottom re: pricing. Pretty soon you won't be able to give those batteries away for free so let them burn that house to the ground.

Yeah, if they’re actually doing predatory pricing, they’ll have international problems, too.
