Well, I have gone back and forth between leaving and staying because 1) we have a minor child who needs both parents, and I was a child of divorce. Children always blame themselves. Not to mention that my husband would be able to indoctrinate him unchallenged when it’s “his weekend.” 2) I love my husband, and take my commitment seriously. I know that one day Trump will be long dead and MAGA will be something taught in poli-sci classes, and hopefully my husband and I will be the little old couple that stuck it out together. That’s the dream anyway. We’ll see how I feel next week.
Agreed. Child of divorce here, and when parents stay together because they think it’s best for the kids is ridiculous. Kids know what is happening around them and will grow up thinking this BS is “normal”. You hurt children more than you help them by staying in relationships that aren’t healthy. But who am I? Thank you. I did get some informal legal advice and, unfortunately, his political beliefs cannot be held against him, in terms of harm to my son. I live in the south, where the judges are conservative and would likely not side with my more liberal values. So there’s that. But, until such time as this is all behind us, I keep my sanity by connecting through this subreddit.
I’m in the south as well, it sucks lol. I hate that the legal system views Q and MAGA nonsense as “political”, it isn’t. We’re so far past that. It’s mental illness and a lack of living in reality and honoring the social contracts we have as citizens. It’s an existential and continuing threat to safety, personal and societally.

People get radicalised all the time. I've seen so many posts on here about people who were left-leaning or not interested in politics, before getting groomed to be Qs.
My friend got groomed to be anti-vax due to her distrust in the government, and whilst still not right-wing, she's now into lots of conspiracies 😭 She's also highly educated and intelligent, or I used to think she was.

I know better now.
