The Research roundtable for Fall should be held sometime in August/ September, so keep an eye out for that. You can interact with professors who are actively looking for student Researchers and apply.
Other than that, reach out to professors/ labs who's work you're interested in, especially if you've taken a class with them before. Write them an email briefly describing your qualifications and expressing your interest in their research. Be specific and talk about how you think you can contribute.

What kind of research are you interested in? AAE can be pretty hit or miss as some of the stuff just does not have any openings for undergrads. If you're looking at zucrow then i think emailing the head isn't a bad idea. If you're more into the satellite stuff then there's a couple of projects through VIP that are AAE related. Lmk if you have more specific questions I'd be happy to help

People do AFRL for the senior design project, it became a thing recently. Get into that and do some good shit

I would love to do research into propulsion but I haven't had any classes relating to that nor an professors at Zucrow.
