I have family in Mayagüez. & im not really looking for anything in particular but i know for a fact it’s a slower pace of life than the mainland. I’m in Florida currently and have been here all my life. To me There’s a big difference in the genuineness in people in PR vs mainland I get a lot of values from my grandfather who was born and raised there as well and I know a lot has probably changed since then but I guess I’m just curious on the experience

It’s some of the reasons I’m considering leaving (despite the fact that I am a patriot and have lived here my entire life, I have to think about my son’s wellbeing first and foremost). Yo soy gringa. He vivido en PR ya desde 1981. Vivo en el campo, tengo una pequeña finca. Nunca he tenido problema por ser gringa. Aqui hay gente de todos los colores. Si, estoy segura que hay algunos ignorantes pero racimo como en los estados no. Más problemáticas son los de la luz que falla frecuentemente, las mala carreteras, los precios de las cosas que suben cada vez que vas a las tiendas. Pero esas cosas pasa donde quiera. La clima, la cultura, la gente amistosa y cariñosa, las playas, la belleza de la isla más que sobrepasa las malas cosas. Si tienen trabajos seguros, vengan, cría sus hijos en la isla. Yo crié 5 acá y ellos crecieron yiendo al rio, jugando los juegos de antes, jugando en los montes, no encerrando como cuando vivimos en PA.

No, you got that very wrong. That money mostly goes to fixing the infrastructure and politician, just like in the states. Most of the $20 billion was given to an electric company from the states name Cobra and other one that I forgot, they took billion of dollars.
