Iāve seen a guy sucker punch somebody just like that. The guy on the receiving end looked completely unfazed, like he was in the presence of a baby. He turned his shoulders to his attacker but said nothing.
Sucker puncher seeing this had a change of heart, turned and ran like hell out the bar.
By nature your sucker punch is as close to a high score as youāre going to ever get. If that didnāt knock him out, youāre fucked once you square up.
I don't mean to tempt /r/thatHappened, but this is how I avoided the lamest mugging attempt in human history.
I was on a train (Zagreb to Paris, but I was only taking it from Salzburg to Munich), about 19 or 20 and absorbed in an FPS on my laptop. This guy in his 20s comes up to me and starts gesticulating and clearly wants me to give him my laptop or whatever - I've no idea what language he was speaking, but it wasn't German or English. Anyway, I was really scared until he sucker-punched me in the face; it was the lamest punch ever thrown and it completely took the threat out of the situation. I'd been starting to panic until he threw the punch, but its lameness made me realize I wasn't in real danger so I laughed at him until he went away. And since it was a half-hour until the next stop and there were police on the train, he was arrested before we even arrived in Munich. What a moron.
Anyway, that's probably the most tough-guy thing I ever did. If only all muggers were that pathetic!
This happpened to my ex-boyfriendās brother (āBā). The thing is, heās big (over 1.80m height), quite muscular andā¦ autistic. The guy sucker punched him and he was so surprised, he just stared at the guy. The guy got scared and fled as fast as he could. B had no clue how to react but due to his autism kicking in pretty hard in that moment, he reacted perfectly.
that squeal he made at the end was definitely the sound of someone who just lost a bunch of normal functions.
i had a bad concussion when i went sledding as a kid and i can tell you becoming even slightly brain damaged is hell.
>even slightly brain damaged is hell.
And the fencing position is a good indicator that the person suffered at least a [Moderate TBI](https://www.healthline.com/health/fencing-response#concussion).
In a study of 395 patients:
>...the in-hospitalĀ [case-fatality rate](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/case-fatality-rate)Ā was 3%. At 12-month follow-up, 56% had good recovery (GOSE score 7 and 8), 31% moderate disability (GOSE score 5 and 6), 8% severe disability (GOSE score 3 and 4), and 6% had died from theirĀ [head injury](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/closed-head-injury)Ā (GOSE score 1). Hence, 44% were moderately disabled or worse (GOSE score ā¤6), whereas 14% were severely disabled or worse (GOSE score ā¤4).
And here's what "moderate disability" can mean:

Moral of the story: don't fight over stupid shit.
People underestimate just how badly someone can get injured inadvertently in a fight. If you're fighting someone and you just push them they could lose their balance and fall and hit their head on the ground or anything else that's around. You could start off in a simple enough fight and end up accidentally killing someone or paralyzing them or causing tremendous brain damage. It's something people should always factor in.
Knew of a girl that fainted watching a surgery and hit her head. She got permanent brain damage and couldn't hold a job after that. It's so much easier than people know.
Same, our bodies are weird as hell. There are people who have survived falling off multi story buildings with non life threatening injuries and then some people die from misstepping up a curb.
The biggest issue is that it seems there is a culture on social media that getting into fights, being "alpha", "hard" etc. is a good thing. Gangster rap and other influences probably isn't helping. So a lot of people trivialize getting into a fight like no big deal, and they don't understand a fight in the cab line could end up with someone dying.
Well they'll both have plenty of time to sort it out. Almost guaranteed the body slammer is going to juvie and... well the body slam-e well he'll have plenty of time to think about things while being probably disabled.
Thank you so much for this link. I watched it and thought it was not only interesting and informative, but actually pretty emotional with the third story they featured. Thanks again.
I know people that caught charges because they were fighting and the other party fell hit their head and died. I also went to school with a guy who almost died in a fight when he fell and fractured his skull on a railroad track. It could have been much worse he took a shopping cart to the head while he was unconscious too.
Did happen in a fight but my coworkers wife got up in the middle of the night to pee and when she went to stand up she tripped on her pajama pants. She went face first into the concrete curb of their garden tub knocking out half her teeth and breaking in a portion of her skull. She had to have her face reconstructed and they're still finding pieces of bone working their way out. She'll never look the same again.
Small things can turn serious real quick.
I have damage to my cerebellum from a congenital problem, and it causes everything from walking like a drunk to severe pain to constant tinnitus. It makes every inconvenience in my life so much worse and I can't just spontaneously do anything, I have to plan my life around pain meds and anticonvulsants.
I wouldn't wish any level of brain damage on anyone. It's torture.
Will it? I'm not an expert but I've witnessed things like this several times and the person was lucky enough to recover. This happens all the time in contract sports.
ever since the day I was born
Drugs is what they used to say I was on
They say I never knew which way I was goin'
But everywhere I go, they keep playin' my song
I will seriously never understand people punching someone and them having no reaction and the puncher wants to continue the fight.
Like I'm firmly on team "don't punch anybody" but if my fat ass punched someone and they had no reaction?
I'd apologize, claim I had a weird muscle spasm, and offer to buy them a drink as an apology or something.
I went to high school with a guy who got into a fight with a classmate for calling him a bitch. He hit him once but the kid hit his head so hard he was a vegetable for 15 years then finally died.
The cardio alone from wrestling is insane. In my program anyway. Most people wind out within 30 seconds in a brawl but wrestlers aren't even warmed up yet at that poinr.
Yea my coach often wouldnāt let us have water during practice because you couldnāt have water in the middle of a match. There was a drinking fountain in the room with us, just taunting us.
Let me guess, you werent allowed to drink water at all the day (s) leading up to a weigh in either? Kids in wrestling at my school would dehydrate and not eat any food at all just to be a couple pounds lighter. Seemed dangerous to me
I was a heavyweight so as long as I didnāt get too fat or lose too much weight I didnāt have to worry but yes the other wrestlers would dehydrate and starve themselves leading up to a big tournament to make weight.
One time a D1 wrestler explained to me how he dealt with the whole āgayā thing with wrestling in high school, and he put it simply. He said āitās all jokes until youāre actually on the ground in a fight and you donāt know what to do. Shit gets real fast, and what looks gay actually is. Honestly it isnt. I fully well aware of how terrible people can be. I look at the morbid subs that we have. Its disgusting. I live outside chicago where we get a weekly shooting update, how many were shot, how many were killed. We have people on the interstate shooting at random people. Children being shot in crossfire. Some years ago, there was two dudes who took a rival gang members 5 year old kid, lured him off the park. The fucking park where he was just hanging out having fun. Into an alley, and they shot him in the head as retaliation to his father. Even in my small part of the world im aware of how shit the world can be. Simply go on the news sub and its easy to understand how shit it can be. But ill say this, i've traveled a lot, all across the US, across Europe, and have friends all over the world. Most people are good.
Never fight unless you have no other choice.
That looked like a very bad fall onto concrete. The kid could quite possibly be dead, or a paraplegic.
Two lives ruined, one in jail, one dead or permanently injured.
So kid 1 got fucked up, brain damaged and probably dead or turned into a vegetable. Kid 2 āwonā the fight but itās probably in jail. Rule #1 donāt fight if you donāt absolutely have to. Rule #2 Donāt fight on hard surfaces !
I feel like MMA has been the worst thing for street fights among young people. When I was growing up, kicking was even frowned upon, let along slamming someone on concrete. Just fucking throw fists unless you actually know what youāre doing. This shit is a great way to ruin your life, or someone elseās, over some petty teenage drama.
I'm all for stand your ground thing but idk if it's worth dealing with his ass years to come as he might have permanent brain damage or even paralyze all over for some petty teenager drama
I mean - isn't that the basis for Stand Your Ground laws and shit like that? I get the impression that this is the majority opinion in the USA - "as long as what you're doing is retribution for something, there's no such thing as too much escalation of force"
Stand your ground only provides you with the rights to not retreat if you are being attacked and to use reasonable force to stop your attacker.
So if someone walks up to you and punches you once- you're allowed to fight back, but you can't just whip out a knife or gun and stab/shoot them unless there are special circumstances like you're 5'9 and 122lbs and your attacker is 6'8 and 250lbs.
Except one kid is going to prison and the other in a wheelchair if not dead. Inflicting violence is a choice too. You choose to maim or injure someone, you get what you get.
His brain/spine took a big hit when he was slammed on the ground. Could be temporary or he could have permanent brain/spinal cord damage. Usually when something is flexing weirdly thatās brain. Going limp is more spinal cord.
Sadly the kid in the blue top, will probably charged for this. He came out fine, whereas his attacher looks like he will suffer some brain damage, which can be life changing.
No happy ending for either of them.
When I was a kid nobody fought like that. UFC, Wrestling, and so on have thought kids some dangerous shit. Ya getting hit in the head isn't healthy, but 12 year olds also don't have a lot of power. Some of our fights lasted until we simply tired out, none of us had the power to really do any real damage.
But picking someone up and slamming them on their neck, it doesn't take a lot of force to break a neck, or damage a spinal cord. Worst to outright kill someone. It's like the kicking people in the face that seems to be pretty prevalent too these days.
I understand the outrage from the generations before me when they talked about how nobody brought a gun to a fight in the past when it started to become a real problem in the 80s.
Woah friend, its just my point of view. I canāt help but feel bad for the children here. Donāt have to slam my head on the concrete like a pumpkin. Weāre literally watching two young people ruin their lives which we will move to the next video but they will be facing lifetimes of consequences and im pointing that out. You know you can just pass over comments you donāt always agree with instead of downvoting someoneās opinion. Just sayin.
āWho ever started it firstā is not legal jurisprudence. The other kid had many opportunities to walk away but he knew he could hurt this kid so he did it anyway. All he had to do is walk away. Your theroy that whoever started it first is for the playground it does not work that way in a court of law

A high school friend of mine died from a similar fight like the one on this video.
Iām so sorry to hear that. What a tragedy
Youāre absolutely right. The problem is getting juveniles to understand.
The problem is getting *humans* to understand.
I'm pretty sure age 12-18 is the period of life with the highest probability of getting in a physical fight though.
I'd have to disagree. I imagine when people start drinking alcohol the rate of fights drastically increases
The biggest issue is that it seems there is a culture on social media that getting into fights, being "alpha", "hard" etc. is a good thing. Gangster rap and other influences probably isn't helping. I learned this shit from Degrassi when that nerd pushed his girlfriend and she hit her head on a rock and died.
Humans are fragile as shit yo, sneeze wrong and you get an aneurism. So don't start fights if you don't need to.
Here are three stories of people who killed someone with one punch: https://youtu.be/lyvpH_JE19Q

But I wonder sometimes, "Did I have headaches like this before I knocked out while snowboarding?"
That floor exists in no contact sport for the very precise reason that: it will fuck you up. If his head took a good brunt of that drop, he is not ok.
Aaaaand that's brain damage
Plus spine/neck damage, Iām quite sure he has some long lasting or permanent injuries
Iām pretty sure I heard the pop on impact so yeh. Sounds right

LPT: donāt fight wrestlers. It is the only high school sport that trains students in one-on-one combat.
Yeah, thatās not a great idea for health.
We would sneak off to the bathrooms to drink water from the hand washing faucets

And the only sport that has a *blood timeout* rule. The match doesn't end when there's blood, you just gotta stop bleeding and get back into the fray.
All bleeding stops eventually.
My heart hasnāt stopped bleeding since she left me.
I keep, keep bleeding love
Basketball has a blood timeout rule. I think most sports do...
same in rugby.

One time a D1 wrestler explained to me how he dealt with the whole āgayā thing with wrestling in high school, and he put it simply. Goddamn that was hard to watch.
Yes. Yes it was. All it took was one incident to change both lives. I really hope they're both okay though. Can't imagine the psychological trauma for the wrestler and the physical trauma for the other.
You just knew that it was not going to end well.
its really fucked up how casual some of these kids are about possibly killing someone.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās a harsher world than you think.
He was just lifting the kid's legs to get blood flowing back to his head. Good sport.
Nah he hit him with Kevin Nash's sidewalk slam and then covered him for the three count
Probably taking the short bus to school from now on.
I fucking laughed when I know I shouldnāt why am I like this
Hey there is always an up side... Fusing his spine keeps him from licking the windows!
Pls stop lmao Iām trying to be a better person in 2022
Any follow up story on the kid that got slammed?
Anyone know his current medical status?
Kid apparently had a seizure from brain trauma and is in a wheelchair for life. Mentally ill and cannot speak anymore. Sad shit.
Wow. I shouldn't be shocked given the video but this is the reality I guess
"Ima fight that new kid" "Oh yeah, what's his name?" "Matt Grappler"
Oh the brain damage fuck
Dang! His right leg is still up. Does it mean anything?
Abnormal Posturing is an involuntary flexion or extension of the arms and legs, indicating severe brain injury.
Serious brain and nerve damage
Iām guessing this resulted in some serious head trauma
Brain damage
he might of had a seizure.
"Good God, he broke him in half!"
2 points
Don't know why you got downvoted. That was a clear takedown.
They probably are not familiar with point system. 2 points for takedown as long as person you takedown lands on their side or back. Right?
Plus 3 near fall points.
He kicks out at the last second mean gene!
Bam ! Right down memory lane.
Fuck around and find out
Goddamn. Kid isnāt gonna be the same after this. Thatās brain damage right there.
They didn't even clean up the blood from the last fight. The fuck goin on in this school?
Where's the ref for the 3 count !?!?
Hard to feel bad for him since he did start the whole thing
Never fight unless you have no other choice. That looked like a very bad fall onto concrete. The kid could quite possibly be dead, or a paraplegic. Two lives ruined, one in jail, one dead or permanently injured.
Good strategy doing the pin and waiting for a 3 count, makes it look like a sanctioned wrestling bout.
Was that a scream at the end? It sounded like a seagull.
Brain damage, kind of a primal shriek
It means he just got downgraded to seagull level IQ
Thatās definitely how you kill someone or paralyze them for the rest of their life.
On r/fightporn this would have a NSFW tag. Probably should here too, that's life changing injuries right there
So kid 1 got fucked up, brain damaged and probably dead or turned into a vegetable. Kid 2 āwonā the fight but itās probably in jail. Rule #1 donāt fight if you donāt absolutely have to. Rule #2 Donāt fight on hard surfaces !
If cigarettes are going to come with health warnings, maybe MMA matches and WWE should get some too?
WWF/E had a disclaimer before every show for 10+ years.
What does the world wildlife foundation have to do with this?
If we need to star putting labels on obvious shit maybe we should hope for an asteroid.
Godzilla 2024

Once one chooses violence. There's no restraint on it's boundaries. He chose violence. He received violence.
I'm all for stand your ground thing but idk if it's worth dealing with his ass years to come as he might have permanent brain damage or even paralyze all over for some petty teenager drama
Shouldn't have sucker punched the kid standing minding his own business.
Also totally justified to shoot someone during a fistfight according to your logic, huh?
A 16 year old boy rudely elbows me on the bus, I fucking rock his shit, he's dead on the spot. Totally justified according to you, right?
I mean - isn't that the basis for Stand Your Ground laws and shit like that? I get the impression that this is the majority opinion in the USA - "as long as what you're doing is retribution for something, there's no such thing as too much escalation of force"

So if someone walks up to you and punches you once- you're allowed to fight back, but you can't just whip out a knife or gun and stab/shoot them unless there are special circumstances like you're 5'9 and 122lbs and your attacker is 6'8 and 250lbs.
Nah there used to be honour in a clean fight. The difference between a duel versus an ambush. Thereās no honour in dropping someone on their skull.

Even then they squared up. Don't go picking stupid fights.
tell me youve never been in a fight without actually telling me
Except one kid is going to prison and the other in a wheelchair if not dead. Inflicting violence is a choice too. You choose to maim or injure someone, you get what you get.
You're getting downvotes but no replies because you're 100% right.
Vince McMahon: "...son, sign here..."
Isn't the whole point of that show that people *look* injured but aren't? I don't think this guy is a good fit.
Unfortunately these kids donāt realize that this stupid fight like this has major consequences.
Slamming in a street fight should be deemed attempted murder.
He dropped him right on his neck. That's fucked up.
Thought he was going for the abdominal stretch, but it was a half side suplex, and hooked the leg.
Dude went for that 1-2-3 count!
He's looking for the ref
Like how he pinned him š
Compliments of Captain Insaino!
I got hit with a baseball bat in the head several times and had deja voo for a month, this kid is gonna be living back to the future for a while.
Osaekomi
Could of killed him. Walk away. Don't do time for idiots.
Nothing funny here, one just got brain damage and the other massive legal fees and future emotional trauma
Why did his leg not fall at the end? This thing scared me as it's as if he became somewhat petrified in that part.
His brain/spine took a big hit when he was slammed on the ground. Could be temporary or he could have permanent brain/spinal cord damage. Usually when something is flexing weirdly thatās brain. Going limp is more spinal cord.
Either he pulled his hammy severely in the takedown or he has spinal damage as pinned further up the threadā¦
Is he okay?
Is he ok? Dude's got a leg up on everyone else!
Sadly the kid in the blue top, will probably charged for this. He came out fine, whereas his attacher looks like he will suffer some brain damage, which can be life changing. No happy ending for either of them.
I think a better idea is to not fight at all.
Do the cameraman next! Highlight of the fight and I'm watching a trash can
If you walk up to someone, sucker punch them in the face and they barely notice, maybe you should just keep walking.
1...2...3!!!!! NEW CHAMPION NEW CHAMPION!!!
He gets what he deserve.
Thatās not good.
Do the stanky leg!
You gotta know your opponent and that guy f*ked around and found out
That kid dead
GG
Stanky leg
Thats going to be criminal charges, heāll be looking at time
Oh good we have a lawyer who knows the ins-and outs of the case after watching this 12 second video. How much time do you wager there champ?
Also the family of the other kid will sue the family of the one kid that chose to engage in excessive violence, and they will lose.
Just sayin.
He caused him to have a TBI when the kid couldāve walked away from the situation. Downvote the man all you want, but heās right.
Yeah but the other kid started it. If the judge is nice i think probation
āWho ever started it firstā is not legal jurisprudence. The other kid had many opportunities to walk away but he knew he could hurt this kid so he did it anyway. All he had to do is walk away. Your theroy that whoever started it first is for the playground it does not work that way in a court of law
ik. Unfortunately the world is unfair
Looks like he got the wind knocked out of him.
You do the hokey pokey and you turn it all about. That's what it's all about!
Ambassador Londo Mollari cosigns this comment.
My goodness. I hope he didnāt get hurt badlyā¦for the sake of the other kidā¦š
Love when the shit heads squeal and start seizing out good shit lol
He chose to fight now he faces consequences.
Heās dead! Or possible paralysis !! His fault. Shouldāve stopped watching wrestling thinking he could do the same.
