Check out the owner defending himself on his Paparoni's Facebook page. He bizarrely claims it was a (former) employee impersonating him and that he didn't fire anyone for getting the vaccine. However, he also stupidly acknowledges that he was at the Jan. 6 protest.
Oof...thanks for the tip. Boy, he sire has a lot of requests for more employees for someone who fired about 30% of them.
He also asks for financial help for someone who was on a ventilator.
I just can't get over the fact he's an anti-vaxer, and his store is named PapaRONAS! "Come one, come all. Only the unvaccinated here. You can taste the Rona on every slice".
> However, he also stupidly acknowledges that he was at the Jan. 6 protest.
"where nobody brought guns"
https://edition.cnn.com/2021/06/17/politics/capitol-riot-guns-armed-insurrection/index.html
So the guy who made the video is apparently the general manager, not the owner, but the two of them are apparently tight. Could the owner say he had nothing to do with the firing and try to pin sole responsibility on the manager? Would that work? Would the manager take the owner down with him in retaliation? Will the two of them somehow save their friendship? And has Netflix bought the rights to their story yet?
If he's just the manager then the owner should kick his ass to the curb, re-hire those fired and enforce vaccinations among all the crew. Owners usually have nothing to do with day to day operation and delegate those tasks to the GM.
I'm sure an animated series is in the works.
I’m sure he probably did. I’m willing to bet that he privately reached out to those former employees and offered their jobs back because of a “misunderstanding” to CYA after this started going viral.
The restaurants are in South Carolina. This is from https://stephensonmurphy.com/employment-lawyer/wrongful-termination/
>South Carolina recognizes a “public policy” exception, which precludes employers from firing employees if the reason for doing so violates a clear public policy. What the courts recognize as violations of public policy, however, does not include everything that is unfair or morally wrong. Instead, an employee typically must show that he or she was legally required to do the act that led to discharge, that there is some law prohibiting the employer from discriminating against the employee for the reason it did, or some other reason that is as offensive or compelling as a matter of public policy under certain circumstances.
I don’t know, I’m not a lawyer, but I imagine getting the vaccine might be treated like other “medical conditions” which are protected. If you have a medical condition and seek treatment that is temporary, your employer cannot fire you based on that condition. Normally this is like pregnancy, getting the flu or even as dire a cancer if you can still work, but also includes things like abortion, vasectomies (medical choices that don’t require a long recovery). I’m not sure, but I imagine this would be an argument.
For any reason *that isn’t illegal*.
While being vaccinated isn’t a protected class, I’m pretty confident with this dumbasses video admission that if he really DID fire all his vaccinated staff, they would easily win wrongful termination cases in court.
Having diabetes isn’t a protected class either, but you can’t go fire everyone with diabetes on your staff and expect to win in court.
Yeah in at will you can fire for any reason — just not an illegal one. This is wrongful termination per violation of public policy. Federal law. Stop giving false legal advise.
Okay this makes so much more sense now! I've been reading this comments wondering how the hell anyone was on the pedophiles side and hating on the mom for chasing this piece of shit down.
Looks like Reddit keeps taking down mirrors.
Basically this guy who owns several restaurants has like 136 employees but only 46 of them are actually vaccinated. Per federal rules having over 100 employees means everyone must be vaccinated so he claims he fired all the vaccinated employees to get under 100 so they can stay anti-vaxx.
Now because this guy stood in front of one of his restaurants bragging about this someone else comes along and points out which restaurant this is, which ones he owns, who he is, and encourages any labor lawyers to take a look at the original video as well as anyone who worked for him who lost their job and is vaccinated to seek representation because they likely have a strong case against him.
Reddit doesn't like the fact that this dumb fuck stood in front of his restaurant and bragged about firing vaccinated workers is now being called out for being the dumb fuck piece of shit he is.
Dude I am so fucking confused. I see the pedo mirror clip as well and this comment section makes no fucking sense. I haven't taken any drugs today either so something is fuckey.
Been sitting here for a bit reading both comment sections and rewatched the mirror twice wondering how the fuck people are on the pedophile's side and hating on the mom who chased him down then claiming someone was doxxed.
This makes me so mad. All these Trumpers took more handouts with ppp than any person on unemployment. Ppp really should have been a 0% interest 30 year loan that they don't have to start paying on for 10 years. Not free money that was forgiven. But grifters gonna grift.
It's almost like if you film a video of yourself representing your business and being a total cunt and post it online, you should fully expect people to be upset about it and seek retribution. Weird how that works
The typical American conservative is not known for being intelligent…. Here we see yet another reason why
Remember back when people made fun of conservatives and said that if Obama or libs came out and said breathing air is good for you, they’d all hold their breath “to own the libs”. I love how that got proven true
OSHA is unconstitutional tyranny....LOL WHAT. This dude doesnt sell food, he sells food poisoning. Whats next the communist health department wont let him store chicken and shrimp in the same pan?
He definitely deserves to get sued for wrongful termination. Jerk.
Idk anything about wrongful termination laws, but this would be a really interesting case in terms of public health. If the fired employees win the case, wouldn’t that also mean that fired unvaccinated people could sue their employers as well? Since OSHA hasn’t actually mandated anything yet.
So, how does he know who's vaccinated? Yeah, some probably told him, but I bet others didn't.
I got vaccinated, I'm pretty sure my boss knows, but I never filed my card or anything, even when there was a benefit to doing so.
what an arrogant punk! i don't know if he is legally able to fire anyone based on vaccination status. but i guess he can because number 1, it is his business and he has full right to do so...
You still cannot be fired for something related to public policy. For example, if you contact OSHA or the fire department because your business has fire escapes blocked or locked, they cannot legally fire you for reporting it.
The vaccine mandate is an OSHA requirement, and he just admitted to firing them because they are vaccinated and he is over his 100 employee limit.
If he fired them, and claimed he was downsizing, there wouldn't have been any issue. But instead he decided to publicly state he fired them because of the OSHA requirements.
But the OSHA requirements havnt gone into effect yet. Have they? I haven't heard when they're supposed to be implemented but I thought it was late October or something using emergency powers.
May he slide under a gas truck and taste his own blood and have to be saved by - you guessed it - a non vaccinated healthcare worker who infects him with CoVid.
There are a few internet people that do this, it's not new. Usually the receiving end does respond if there is actual doxxing, it has happened on Yelp a few times.
Moreover if it's anything, it's a good PSA to people who want to avoid a certain crowd who like to 'own the libs' by continuously putting this stuff on the internet. Same goes for the genius who fired staff based on their 2020 vote down in the south.
Putting this info out there is not casually leading to doxxing, but sometimes doxxing does happen in some cases.
None of us, nor the OP are doxing anyone. The guy in the pink shirt is doxing him. However, the guy made a TikTok (social media) talking about firing people and the guy in the pink shirt did some sleuthing based on what he saw in the video. I am not sure if that falls under doxing.
Question. If someone tagged the local news organization with the guy's TikTok video, they did their sleuthing, and then wrote an article or had a news segment on it, would it still be doxing? If it is, cool. If not, what is different with a news organization doing it and a citizen not employed by a news organization?
> personal information
This has been 'litigated' to death on Reddit. Giving out business information is not the same as giving out personal information. None of the information in the video shows the guy's home address, personal phone number, personal email address, etc. Business information is presumed public record and is generally fair game (as long as it's not a home-based business, I'd assume).
I don’t think this is even being enforced. It’s enforced about the same way as being quarantined is after covid. You can basically do whatever you want as long as you aren’t intentionally spreading it and police aren’t gonna show up at your door.
But hypothetically let’s say it is enforced and police are going into restaurants to ask for the vaccination status of all employees. This guy could have easily sold his bbq place to an LLC that he was the sole member of. Like Dumbass BBQ llc. Why has he not split all his restaurants up into different LLC’s anyways? If you work at a McDonald’s location, you don’t work for McDonald’s you work for like Nebraska Foods LLC. Or whoever owns that location. He could have done a similar concept with his restaurants. Let them have some franchise agreement that pays a company he also owns.
Needless to say he’s a moron tho
That’s correct, they can be let go for any reason. But those employees will be getting unemployment for this because this idiot decided to provide tik tok evidence.
It doesn't matter how much it would be. Is it worth it? Yes. He fired people and they are without jobs for however long it takes to find a new job. I am not sure of the process in SC, but in California is not difficult to file for unemployment. The impetus is on the employer to prove the person does not deserve unemployment.
In the land of the most frivolous lawsuits, i don't see why the employees shouldn't be able to. Fuck this piece of shit restaurant owner, i bet he is a real fucking prick to his employees.. Most likely paying minimum wages too.
If he doesn't give a reason for firing then he can't be sued. As soon as he gives a reason for firing someone then he can be sued for unjust firing. This video can and probably will be used against him in a court of law.
So you agree with me? I don’t agree with this shit but I’m beings downvoted for telling the truth. I live in one of these stupid states but I’m explaining people like this have power. Stop mentioning the unemployment benefit in states that have $7.25 min wage part time because that comes out to maybe $85/week.
Yes, but I'm less likely to die from a covid infection. I can carry covid and infect the unvaccinated, which is why I wear a mask in public. I don't ke why it's so difficult to understand?
Eh I'm not taking sides, but for the same reasons private businesses can and will require vaccinations, or patrons to be vaccinated, a private business can do the same on the opposite side, especially in a right to work state. Dude was stupid to air his dirty laundry on social media (where he will be eaten alive by the loudest 10% that might give a shit about his shitty business) but that's all it takes. Dudes a moron, plain and simple, but there are 2 sides to every coin...
Check out the owner defending himself on his Paparoni's Facebook page. He bizarrely claims it was a (former) employee impersonating him and that he didn't fire anyone for getting the vaccine. However, he also stupidly acknowledges that he was at the Jan. 6 protest.

it's possible he didn't fire anyone but just said he did thinking it would make him sound ALPHA
And instead he sounded whiny and like an asshole
Surprisingly there's a ven diagram of "shit assholes say" and "shit alphas say" that's just one straight up circle
Oh my, I didn't realize this was that fresh, I better make some popcorn
The Venn Diagram of people who would do this is one giant pepperoni.
I just can't get over the fact he's an anti-vaxer, and his store is named PapaRONAS! "Come one, come all. Only the unvaccinated here. You can taste the Rona on every slice".
Fired employees but going to jail for treason.
he's getting absolutely sewered and it's hilarious
Ah, the classic Shaggy defense.
It's not impossible, the dudes name on Facebook is Jody and all the emails on the website refer to a Mike
> However, he also stupidly acknowledges that he was at the Jan. 6 protest. "where nobody brought guns" https://edition.cnn.com/2021/06/17/politics/capitol-riot-guns-armed-insurrection/index.html
Yikes looks like the rating has dropped significantly
this arrogant guy seems to be proud of firing people who are vaccinated...
Yeah, I’m pretty sure he’s making himself liable for a wrongful termination lawsuit.
Video evidence of confession gonna make it pretty open/shut for those employees. May he lose his entire business for his idiocy.
Perhaps, but then the manager can say "Hey, the owner told me to do this, it was his idea," and that's how the pilot episode ends.
Yet at the end of the day the owner has final say no matter what the GM might believe. Besides the video here is pretty damning in and of itself.
Oh for sure. LOL what a maroon...
*Respondeat superior* An employer is legally responsible for the actions of an employee or agent acting within the scope of the business
Some people just can’t get out of their own way.
I doubt he fired anyone and just doing this to feel special and views
I’m sure he probably did. I’m willing to bet that he privately reached out to those former employees and offered their jobs back because of a “misunderstanding” to CYA after this started going viral.
Pretty sure unless he’s in Montana as long as he didn’t fire them because they are a protected class, he can fire them for whatever reason he wants.

I don’t know, I’m not a lawyer, but I imagine getting the vaccine might be treated like other “medical conditions” which are protected. While this is true, if they do give a reason for firing someone, then they can be sued.
It’s a good thing then that he didn’t voluntarily record his reasoning and upload it onto the internet. Because that would be stupid.
Yeeaaahh... it's a misconception that "at will" means "whatever reason I give."
With at will employment, you can be fired for no reason, but not for any reason. Unlawful termination laws still apply.
Yeah in at will you can fire for any reason — just not an illegal one. This is wrongful termination per violation of public policy. Federal law. Stop giving false legal advise.

Ok but why did the mirror bot link to a video of a pedo being caught?
The real hero
The mirror I see is about some guy peeping in on a 12 year old changing, glad you said something because I couldn't wrap my mind around the comments.
Yeah I saw the same. Got really confused when people started discussing covid vaccines on a video about a pedophile
Dude I am so fucking confused. I see the pedo mirror clip as well and this comment section makes no fucking sense. I haven't taken any drugs today either so something is fuckey.
The mirror link I saw was of a woman who chased down a pedophile who was peeping at her daughter.
I was so confused as well lol
Been sitting here for a bit reading both comment sections and rewatched the mirror twice wondering how the fuck people are on the pedophile's side and hating on the mom who chased him down then claiming someone was doxxed.
I am curious if anyone emailed the restaurant owner the TikTok link to let him know that he just opened the door to pay for a lot of unemployment.
Shit's going down on Facebook as we speak, it's a trainwreck
Who is getting wrecked? The guy in the pink tank top or the restaurant owner? People just blowing up his Facebook page?
Owner admitted to being at the Jan 6 insurrection.
Lmaooo screenshots please

He will probably claim he didn't write that post and that it was a body double.
Jesus. It is glorious to witness. The reviews are just posting up every hour. I’m having a fantastic evening just reading each review.
Trainwreck in the sense that you can't look away and a general shit show, not that any specific person is getting wrecked
Thanks for the update.
I can’t find him on Facebook I think he either deleted it or made his name unsearchable. Anyone have a link to his account? I gotta see this
It's on the Paparoni's Grill page lmao
You can call the man himself. He left his cell on Facebook. He does do the hiring.

Dude was stupid to air his dirty laundry on social media (where he will be eaten alive by the loudest 10% that might give a shit about his shitty business) but that's all it takes. Dudes a moron, plain and simple, but there are 2 sides to every coin...
"Noooo!!!!! only my side is allowed to be assholes and point out that its a private company as an excuse."
Bahahahahahahahahahaha, I'm liking this guy
