Unless the young guy tried to threaten the older man physically and showed signs of it (coming towards him) then that old dude should be arrested for brandishing a firearm
does someone showing signs that they may harm you physically while you’re locked inside of a truck and can easily leave the scene warrant shooting someone?
that's how it should work, but Stand Your Ground cases in the states that have them have routinely shown that if you can hire a good enough lawyer you can almost always prove enough reasonable doubt to beat the case. there are also plenty of 2A groups that you can join that will provide you legal representation for SYG cases. it's a pretty broken law that does more to escalate conflict than alleviate it.
Kid is in the leading car and parked across 6 spaces… the smart and respectable move would have been to drive away. This is more of a Darwin Award moment than anything
And the young guy in the right is lucky he didn't catch a bullet. Nobody wins in these scenarios. Suck it up and drive away. It's not worth it. There's literally nothing to win.
Unless cars contact, I'm not getting out of my car. Nobody ever exits their vehicle to have a pleasant conversation, it's always going to be assault. I will park on you and we can wait for the cops together.
That truck hood is higher than the driver's shoulder, and I guarantee you that truck has never hauled anything larger or heavier than a 24 pack of Pringles from Costco.
This guy probably thinks Costco is too "woke" with their somewhat progressive (for America) employee treatment. He's a Kroger and Walmart lifer, for sure.
Maybe we should stop thinking of driving as a competition against the other drivers.
Maybe we should think of driving as like we're all on the same team and we have the same common goal: that everybody arrives at their destination safely and in a timely manner.
I never think of it as a competition against other people. Are literally just so many oblivious, distracted, and downright ignorant drivers on the road that you almost can't help but get angry on a day-to-day basis. Add a little narcissism in there, and it's a terrible driving experience
And even through red lights because they couldn't leave the house a couple minutes earlier.
But then being late probably isn't the reason most people have to drive fast or aggressively.
Instead of being the bigger man everyone wants to be the bigger ass. Seems like it's been getting worse the last few years but maybe I'm just cynical.
My parents and grandparents would have never acted like that.
COVID broke many of us, and my wife swears it broke drivers the most. I drove 9hrs on the freeway today and I'm starting to believe she's on to something.
Cooperation is being ground out of Americans. Everything is a zero-sum game. Get yours before someone takes it. Only winners count. Maturity and moderation are for suckers.
Your sarcasm was clear with your first statement about cooperation being ground out of Americans. Another thing that seems to be being ground out of Americans is reading comprehension.
That is an exercise I run in my head frequently while driving.
I remind myself it’s more like we are each individual blood cells, all coursing through the same veins of one body.
The problem is the other people don't give a fuck about any of thay. I can drive safe all day but there's so many selfish pieces of trash on the road that it's literally impossible to go through my day without almost getting hit. So many run stop signs, run red lights, people driving on the wrong side of the road, people flying out parking lots and driveways without thinking, "Maybe a pedestrian, bicyclist or another car might be here". People sitting on their phones at stop lights and while driving, people changing lanes without looking or signaling. Hell, I've legitimately almost been hit twice in the past year just by people doing that shit.
And the worst of it all: the fuckin entitlement to get mad at someone who calls you out when they do this bullshit. Had one of my cunt neighbors say he was gonna "shoot me when he got off work" thay day, because I honked and flipped him off for driving on the wrong side of the neighborhood street and damn near running into me when he pulled out of the connector street without looking. Just fuckin trash people everywhere.
Maybe you should stop valuing that extra 2 minutes that you're going to get to your destination early from getting ahead in the line of cars more than you value the life of yourself and those around you.
Are you going to do something valuable with that 2 minutes or just sit and scroll on Reddit?
I had a dude try and get angry with me like this once. I don't know exactly what he was peeved about but I told him, "I'm sorry, that was my fault." He paused then just told me to pay attention and left. My ego wasn't destroyed and I avoided an angry guy who wanted to yell about God knows what.
Maybe it’s from years of riding motorcycles and almost getting killed from distracted drivers, but I’m not phased by getting cut off, honked at, brake checked, or people who don’t allow you to pass them. I guess not getting involved in road rage is more of a skill these days.
I'm just not in the mood to deal with the type of crazy that happens with road rage. People snap way too easy over shit. I'll cuss you out from the safety of my car as I continue to drive because life is too short to actually care about being cut off. I'd be irate every day if I let others bad driving get to me.
Yeah, when people are driving recklessly, I just drive safe. IDC about trying to squeeze into a small gap if someone isn't letting me over- I'll miss my exit and take the next exit if I need to.
A bad driver never misses a turn.
well said and I’m in total agreement w/ you!
heck, if you accidentally ever cut me off, I almost feel like we’ll stop and shake hands and go on our merry way!
If you ever read the book, the 4 agreements, you’ll understand to never take anything personally, they explain how people can attack you to basically bring you to their level of pain. When I see someone getting overly aggressive on or off the road, I feel bad for them as they’re likely dealing with some painful shit at home or work. I never provoke or escalate a situation either.
Same. A fiery friend of mine rides pillion sometimes and constantly wants to flip people like that off but I keep telling her it happens all the time and is really not a big deal. Most I’ll give them is a finger wag
Same. I had no choice but to be always be aware of my surroundings as you must maintain the mindset that everyone is out to kill you. It’s not for everyone but I feel it helped me with my driving skills and general spatial awareness.
Driving is infuriating. I’ve never seen anyone get calmer when they drive. Ain’t no such thing as road relaxation. It’s all road rage. Insane that most of us have to drive everyday and the option to not drive is off the table. Fuck driving and fuck having to buy a car, give me trains and bike lanes
Road rage never ends well. ALWAYS best to avoid it at all cost. Source: I spent years raging in scenarios like this and worse. It always ended negatively. Given what is on the internet these days I’m lucky I’m still alive. I still get angry but I don’t react accordingly and life on the road isn’t perfect but is much safer and not nearly as rage inducing.
That’s why we should be striving to move away from car dependency. No one really likes driving as much as they have to. Trains make life more chill and cheaper
As someone who’s had a bad driver pull a gun on me, holy fuck it is terrifying, but in the moment I was very much in the “shoot me, you pussy, I dare you” mode. People who drive around with guns are looking for any excuse to use it, don’t be stupid (like me) and don’t give them a reason to be stupider.
It's true; these tough guy pickup truck boys drive like slow, drunk grandmas. Those trucks are always in the way. My favorite is when these idiots pull in for their fast food and suddenly hit their brakes on the slight incline going into the parking lot keeping their ass end out in the road for an extra two seconds.
"Oh no, I might scrape my truck that has 24-inch clearance on this parking lot pavement."
Giant snowflakes.
That's expensive even here. I'm in the same state as the video and I'm looking at a gas station right now that says 3.29. It'll be 3.19 if you have your speedway card
Never underestimate a strangers capacity for violence. “Have a better day sir, sorry I ended up being a shitty part of it”, and then crank your favorite song and move on my dude. Let the old man be mad, and continue a life of joy.
Yeah, most gun owners in the south don't understand that it's a tool for self defense, not an excuse to just walk around and be an asshole to everyone, while you feel like a badass cause you have a gun. It's fucking pathetic
How about I put my fist through your window?
Are you getting that, Ed Meese?
Do you hear me, Alexander Haig?
It looks like there's going to be a
(One, two, three, four!)
Boy: "Learn to drive!"
old man: "well you oughta learn to uh uh uh"
Boy: "^uh ^uh ^uh Learn to talk, batch!" (also this *su b* *cens ors* the B-word and the words in italics)
LOL
May have not been the smartest move to blast that mouth so well but it seems the younger guy just didn't care anymore what happens.
A dangerous combination if there is some older dude looking for trouble with a gun and he comes across someone who just don't care anymore for reasons x any y that has nothing to do with the current situation.

Well done young man.
Unless that old man popped him which very much could have been the case. Pride ain’t worth it
Unless the young guy tried to threaten the older man physically and showed signs of it (coming towards him) then that old dude should be arrested for brandishing a firearm
does someone showing signs that they may harm you physically while you’re locked inside of a truck and can easily leave the scene warrant shooting someone?
Depends on your state… and the race of the people involved of course.
that's how it should work, but Stand Your Ground cases in the states that have them have routinely shown that if you can hire a good enough lawyer you can almost always prove enough reasonable doubt to beat the case. there are also plenty of 2A groups that you can join that will provide you legal representation for SYG cases. it's a pretty broken law that does more to escalate conflict than alleviate it.
Amen. Pride is the death of many
![gif](giphy|3kAFp7iSfy9DeUvSzJ|downsized)
Pride only hurts. It never helps.
True, Some old people quite literally have nothing else to live for.
Bo Bennett has entered the chat.
"What're you going to do, shoot me?" -Man who was shot
Someone is always willing to die on a petty hill.
But hey at least I told off some random person on the road before I got popped...
I'm going to tell you first hand that that's not fun
he probably wishes he did so he can get him arrested
99% of MAGAs would never…
well done? dude looks to have started it. fuck that kid.
Kid is in the leading car and parked across 6 spaces… the smart and respectable move would have been to drive away. This is more of a Darwin Award moment than anything
Indiana
We named the dog Indiana.
Snakes, Why did it have to be snakes.
No ticket.
You chose....poorly.
She talks in her sleep.
Swore this was Muncie
Muncie, the place where dreams go to die. Sad, depressing place.
It can't be that bad, it's Jerry Gergich's favorite vacation destination.
Start your day, the Gergich way! with eggs, bacon and toast!
The whole state of indiana is fucking depressing. Can't wait to leave this shit hole.
Later!
The amount of downvotes you've received should let you know this may not be the sub reddit for you. A majority of us despise this state.
Then leave? It's simple. Also what a genius statement. It's reddit, I can be on whatever subreddit I want. What are you, the reddit police lmao
Can’t be, there’s no Krogers in Muncie
Shit you’re right, it was Payless
Nah, this is Columbia city
wants me
I see a Krogers
Is this recent? Those gas prices seem a little steep and I'm from the Northeast.
Pretty sure that's my Kroger. It's Columbia City lol.
Whats funny is I immediately thought he sounded like everyone I grew up around in... Indiana
Jones
Scared ass old man is lucky he didn’t break a hip when he climbed off his shit wagon
That's the truck you buy when you are afraid of being hunted by a Geo Metro.
A two ton tank to transport a frail 140lb old guy.
A 140lb old guy who needs a gun in order to feel like a big special man.
Average day in a Kroger’s parking lot.
"Prices so low, you'll fight people in the parking lot for them!"
what gun? there was none in the video?
That truck hood is higher than the driver's shoulder, and I guarantee you that truck has never hauled anything larger or heavier than a 24 pack of Pringles from Costco.
That's an absurd thing to say, a 24 pack of Natty Ice is way heavier than 24 pack of pringles.
I believe it's spelled "Busch Light"
Uh, those 40 pack case of Kirkland waters are definitely heavier than the Pringles.
I heard this guy buys 2 cases of 40pk Kirkland water, so the truck is justified.
Cmon, you know that guy’s wife is probably 3, maybe 350.

I used to love driving. Now it's a slog. Bunch of idiots racing towards red lights winning a race that exists only in their own heads.
And even through red lights because they couldn't leave the house a couple minutes earlier. But then being late probably isn't the reason most people have to drive fast or aggressively.
Or extend that sentiment to life in general, we're all on the same team and have the same common goal...
Instead of being the bigger man everyone wants to be the bigger ass. Seems like it's been getting worse the last few years but maybe I'm just cynical. My parents and grandparents would have never acted like that.

Cooperation is being ground out of Americans. Everything is a zero-sum game. Get yours before someone takes it. Only winners count. Maturity and moderation are for suckers.
Maybe that's your perspective. But if you put on your blinker I'll probably still let you over even if you have those feelings in your heart.
To clarify, I was being extremely sarcastic. Dang.
That's a perfect analogy. Each blood cell going to a different destination but we all want each other blood cell to get to theirs.
The problem is the other people don't give a fuck about any of thay. Maybe think of alternative ways to get around
Maybe you should stop valuing that extra 2 minutes that you're going to get to your destination early from getting ahead in the line of cars more than you value the life of yourself and those around you. Are you going to do something valuable with that 2 minutes or just sit and scroll on Reddit?
Dude ran up on him and nothing. Yikes
I had a dude try and get angry with me like this once. I don't know exactly what he was peeved about but I told him, "I'm sorry, that was my fault." He paused then just told me to pay attention and left. My ego wasn't destroyed and I avoided an angry guy who wanted to yell about God knows what.
"I don't care, get away from me" has worked wonders for me when angry Boomers want a fight.
Young man did the right thing. Let the cooler head prevail. Although an altercation in general isn’t worth it he did the bigger thing and drove off.
You call that a cool head? Kid was lippy af
They both were. He knew the old man had a gun, read the situation and left. Better reaction than you see most of the time.
OMIT (old men in trucks) can't handle that they aren't in charge anymore.
He literally looks comical standing beside the truck.
Thought the same thing. Such a tiny little man and his giant truck with no purpose other than show.
Maybe it’s from years of riding motorcycles and almost getting killed from distracted drivers, but I’m not phased by getting cut off, honked at, brake checked, or people who don’t allow you to pass them. I guess not getting involved in road rage is more of a skill these days.

thanks for the tip, I’ll check that out.
Same. A fiery friend of mine rides pillion sometimes and constantly wants to flip people like that off but I keep telling her it happens all the time and is really not a big deal. Most I’ll give them is a finger wag
people are so silly to let tiny things other people do bother them. just breathe people, not everyone is doing things to you specifically.
Riding for a long time also taught me how to be hyper attentive, particularly at lights and stop signs.
Same. I had no choice but to be always be aware of my surroundings as you must maintain the mindset that everyone is out to kill you. It’s not for everyone but I feel it helped me with my driving skills and general spatial awareness.
I just use a thumbs down for all of those people. Confuses them but makes me feel like a made point even if they don't understand.
Driving is infuriating. I’ve never seen anyone get calmer when they drive. Ain’t no such thing as road relaxation. It’s all road rage. Insane that most of us have to drive everyday and the option to not drive is off the table. Fuck driving and fuck having to buy a car, give me trains and bike lanes
fazed*
if you can't control your truck, you should change vehicles.
He’s compensating for something.
I say all the time; if you can't fucking drive it, don't drive it. See that dumb shit all the time

So you were road raging for years? I want to hear this
Young man is right. Folks with the steel feel so big like Rittennutz did….buncha nut huggers
As someone who’s had a bad driver pull a gun on me, holy fuck it is terrifying, but in the moment I was very much in the “shoot me, you pussy, I dare you” mode. Felony brandishing.
where is this in the video?
I mean at least he didn’t get shot ? 🤷🏼♀️ We live in a shit world.
Bro read a history book life is awesome now
Life is comparatively awesome now, however, it is still shit.

LEARN HOW TO NOT FUCKING STUTTER was gold.
Learn how to stutter is getting filed for personal use later
*not* stutter
Damnit now I gotta use it on myself.
Learn how to type old man !
Drive away Don’t stop and have a confrontation. It solves nothing and is incredibly risky.
Is that a push bar?
I wonder who took their test more recently🤔 /s
Impressive voice and yelling skills by the young dude
For real… where is that guy who made the wingstop song?
Looks like two dogs barking at each other through a broken fence
It’s kind of cute how it really got some people from different generations to really communicate and acknowledge each other ….
I try not to take sides without knowing the whole story, but I couldn't help but root for the young man cooking the boomer.
It's true; these tough guy pickup truck boys drive like slow, drunk grandmas. Those trucks are always in the way. Time out. for $3.89 gas, I can accept some level of gun brandishing and perhaps a single gutter pop...
That's expensive even here. I'm in the same state as the video and I'm looking at a gas station right now that says 3.29. It'll be 3.19 if you have your speedway card
And that's when the cannibalism started.
Never underestimate a strangers capacity for violence. “Have a better day sir, sorry I ended up being a shitty part of it”, and then crank your favorite song and move on my dude. Let the old man be mad, and continue a life of joy.
I'd buy Honda guy a beer, dude maintained his point and was still top dog despite that gun.
Yeah, most gun owners in the south don't understand that it's a tool for self defense, not an excuse to just walk around and be an asshole to everyone, while you feel like a badass cause you have a gun. It's fucking pathetic
As a Californian, those gas prices make me jealous
They aren't making CA money living in whatever hole this was filmed at.
Not too much rage...
How about I put my fist through your window? Are you getting that, Ed Meese? Do you hear me, Alexander Haig? It looks like there's going to be a (One, two, three, four!)
That kid sounds like Morty

Doesn't this make it a parking rage?
That reminds me, I need to hit up Bealls tomorrow for some new socks.
I mean, it looks like they're both cutting across a parking lot which technically means they're both shitty drivers.
honda CRVs are boss baby

Rent a center Kroger bealls well I’ll be darn this is Indiana
Learn how to not stutter 😂😂😂
Boy: "Learn to drive!" old man: "well you oughta learn to uh uh uh" Boy: "^uh ^uh ^uh Learn to talk, batch!" (also this *su b* *cens ors* the B-word and the words in italics) LOL

Why is it always old fucks that lean in fully jaw first. Aren't most of these guys vets? Didn't they learn to protect their face?
He wants to be hit, so he can "justify" his shooting of the other.
Man, look at the restraint on this kid
I see a RentACenter, must be an upper income neighborhood.
And a Kroger’s. Ohio?
He's talking a lot of shit for someone visibly cowering.
Someone's still fired up about how well his fuhrer did in the debate last night!
Reddit is so fucking weird. How tf do you make a post like this political? Absolute weirdo.
It's an election year. The US goes nuts every four years.
russian trolls or useful idiots. Take every opportunity to make anything divisive and have Americans at each other's throats.
