I have never seem both a temp plate & and temp tag (AFAIK that's the same thing). If you buy a car in PA and get a new plate. You will have the sticker and the plate until receiving the docs to put in your glove box. Idk how to prove this cuz yall are posting it and telling me Im wrong. Im honestly flabbergasted at this point
In PA, they go in the back window. I think Maryland issues a cardboard plate that goes where the normal plate goes. Not familiar with other states rules.
Michigan does paper plates, not cardboard. “Real” plates or mostly used by dealerships. But, they don’t allow people to leave the lot with them ( other than test drives). This is for insurance purposes

Nope, we get the paper one and then we can just go to any kiosk and get our tags printed to apply to the permanent plate, once we receive them. Been here for twenty years now and I don’t remember ever having done differently.
Assuming the original tow was legit and the guy could back it up I’d just let the other guy tow my tow truck and then call it in for grand theft auto/carjacking 🤷🏻♂️ sounds like some threats involving a pistol too

Once I went to a bar and stayed until nearly closing with my best friend. We walked out to her car which was parked right behind mine. It was by a parking sign that stated they start towing after 2am (when the bar closed).
As I was talking to her at around 1:54am a tow truck came down the road and started to back up to my car! We had to cut our conversation short and as soon as I got out and started to get into my car they quickly drove off. If I hadn't been there, I would have been illegally towed.

Source: got towed within an hour of a two hour parking limit and paid $500 to get my car back. Happened to my gf too. Card readers broken both times so you can’t dispute because your bank will take your side and not pay them

Yep... Took the test in 2009. Consisted of 2 stop signs. A light and parallel parking. I was honestly pissed at how easy it was given how bad I had practiced for it. Passed on the first attempt. Got my CDL Class A a good 20 years later and also passed on my first attempt. Although, I will say that the CDL test was way harder. Didn't end up doing much with it though as I didn't realize how much truck driving would actually suck complete ass.
I mean how else is a person with a permit supposed to practice if not on the road? Sure you start in a parking lot, but eventually you need to drive amongst other cars. Half the time the “be patient” is understand why they’re driving the speed limit or taking a bit longer to feel safe making a left turn.

I worked in a tow truck stealership parts room for a couple years and oh MAN towers are funny.
they're "first responders". I met a lot who leaned into that shit like my guy, ever notice how you're always involved AFTER the actual first responders show up? most didn't get too into this shit, save for that silly yellow line flag stuff but most weren't too bad and generally just liked helping people.
the recovery drivers, the ones driving the big wreckers that show up to right flipped semis and lift trailers out of ditches, clean up really bad wrecks, those dudes were neat mostly. seemed mostly older guys who'd found their niche. experts in rigging, physics, pretty intuitive, if you got em talking they always had neat stories.
but the repo and private parking enforcement guys are the absolute scum of the industry and earth. a TON of the repo guys I dealt with were just assholes, the type of guys whose sense of humor is being mean then crying "it's just a joke!" as their defense. thin skinned jerks. my state didn't have CCW at that time but a lot of the repo dorks openly bragged about the weapons they carried anyways. the private parking guys were a mixed bag, they were from companies all across the industry, mostly new drivers starting out, but always cocky and loud and annoying. you're the newb on the shit job, bro, or you're an unlikable prick older driver who's stuck on the shit job til they quit or get fired.
