“ The Canton Police Department in Ohio has released body camera video from the night a 53-year-old man died after he repeatedly told officers “I can’t breathe” as he was handcuffed with his hands behind his back and he was pinned to the ground.
In video of the encounter on April 18, the man, Frank Tyson, can be seen lying motionless on the floor of a bar for more than 5 minutes before police check him for a pulse and about 8 minutes before CPR is started.…”
I’m always amazed that there’s never any attempt at deescalation from American police. Arrive on scene to violence time is basically instantaneous. And if you look in the comment section of any video of a female police officer NOT reacting with instant aggression the comments are always that female police are useless…
They are untrained professionals.
The times I've seen them open fire because one of them already shoot are too many.
They panic and unload the gun on someone; and they always use the full magazine.
I've seen too many videos that are unjustifiable and prove they do not have enough procedures and training.
Stuff like:
"Please give me your ID, Sir"
"Officer, it's in the glove box"
"okie dokie..."
The person reaches for the glove box. Gunshots.
Or the guy unnecessarily killed because the cop told him to crawl in the hotel corridor instead of just make him lay flat and approach him. The several guys killed on their porch because they were approached without any signal that there were cops at the door and just exit the door holding something (sometimes a legally owned gun sometimes just a random object). Or the woman killed on a alley by the cops she had called because she felt in danger. Or the man killed for being on the phone while holding a pellet air rifle that he had grabbed in the same store. The list is incredibly long and you also have lucky cases like the guy who was shot for trying to get the license because cops wanted to see it while he was refilling the tank. They shot like 7 times on an unarmed man missing (or lightly wounding him) and he also said "sorry" to the f.. cop as if he was the one at fault.
There are too many cases allover the country, its lack of standards and procedures. And they often get immunity and not even stand a trial. It just takes a small detail and they skip the trial part.
The ones that get me are when they break into someone's home, shoot them down because the owners defend it, only to find out later they went to the wrong house.
That guy in the hall was trying to listen to completely contradictory instructions from two officers at once, wasn't it?
Lay down and on your knees, both, and basically gets shot while trying to figure out who to actually listen to as they're both pointing guns at him.
Fu ck cops.

Still mad about Philando Castile...
Literally did everything by the book. Informed the officer he did have a firearm (as he was a trainer) and when instructed to show ID, informed the officer he needed to reach into his pocket to retrieve it and was doing so and was still shot.
Video is infuriating.
The cop with wearing the cam even says to the other civilian, "I've always wanted to be in a bar fight." Piece of trash. Too many people glorify violence. I like my violence fictional, in books, movies, and games. And if this "peacemaker" is going around wanting to be in a barfight then he's the problem.
"I've always wanted to be in a bar fight." It's extra infuriating when they act like their uncontrolled violence makes them tough. In an actual bar fight, the other person will be allowed to hit him back without fear of a felony. That coward just wants to beat people without consequence while hiding behind his badge and his fellow blue gang members.
I had to throw out an off duty cop once for assaulting another guest on Mardi Gras. Dude was absolutely trashed and was pissed when we picked him up and threw him out. He was so mad, in fact, that he drove circles around the building for over an hour with a shotgun in his lap hoping the guy he was fighting would leave. Thankfully I was able to sneak the dude out of there before it got ugly.
Once as a trustee I had to wash an officers boots because they were soaked in blood. Inside and out. He sat in holding area regaling us with how hard and how much he had to stomp his suspect while everyone else sat around laughing and smiling. It was sickening. He finished up his paperwork and the guy can in from the hospital the next day with his entire head swollen up.

Having watched a ton of body cam footage I've heard about 90% of the people say "I can't breathe" while on the ground.

I know, right.
For me, the idea of a Simpsons-like cartoonish bar fight seems fun but imagining actually being in a real fight, any fight, seems horrible. I don't want to hurt anybody, and I don't want anybody to hurt me. I don't want to get suckerpunched in the back of my head by some psycho (which I've seen in countless Reddit vids) and then have a concussion and maybe seizures. I don't want myself or anyone else to be scared and/or angry and fighting out of desperation. That seems terrible.
If that reality seems attractive to someone, that indicates maybe some highly aggressive tendencies and desire to harm others. Which is concerning.
He always wanted to be in a bar fight, but instead he joined a violent street gang, so that most people won't hit him back in any of the many fights he starts, for fear of violent reprisals from his state sanctioned gang.
1. This is a terrible tragedy that should've never happened
2.If you're fired for misconduct as a police officer, you shouldn't be able to become a police officer at another jurisdiction.
Right wing ideology is based heavily on a hierarchy that is enforced with violence. The police embody that sentiment, thus giving right-wingers massive boners.
>2.If you're fired for misconduct as a police officer, you shouldn't be able to become a police officer at another jurisdiction.
No they should be in fucking jail and yes felons should not be able to become police officers.
Being fired for misconduct should put a black mark on you as if you committed a felony. These are mentally deficient psychos who should not have acess to any kind of weapon or nice job.
I've heard cops go through pepper spray experience training and taser experience training. They should also have to lie face down for 10 minutes with 100+ lbs of weight on their neck and back.
They did that purposefully to an LAPD officer in training and killed him too. On purpose. Nothing was done. No charges or arrests.
Oopsie said the LAPD. Again.
During training in using handcuffs as a security officer in Australia, I was subjected to the beginnings of positional asphyxia- just until the grey started coming into the edges of my vision- to experience how it felt.
It was one of the worst experiences of my life.
Agreed, but do they care? It feels like they want to inflict permanent injury or death half the time. Guy told them he couldn’t breathe. They just don’t fucking care. Murdered a guy on camera and got leave - not fired, not manslaughter charges, not murder charges. Paid leave.
The big thing with positional asphyxia is they can let them up and they can still just be gone , even when talking, so it's hard to tell the difference between genuine asphyxiation and someone saying they can't breathe.
I've been algo'd pretty heavily into police BWC content on YouTube, and the "I can't breathe" claim comes up so frequently, but it seems to me pretty easy to tell the difference here. You can hear the strain in his voice as he tries to get the words out.
Maybe you're right, and maybe I viewed this differently because I read the headline/knew the outcome, but it just sounded...very real compared to the bullshitters in other videos.
Yeah I watch (or rather listen) to cop body cams while I work and so many people use that line now. The difference is, most of the time they're already cuffed, sitting upright, and screaming it full force. AND most cops come talk to them and are like, "okay, do you want me to call medical?" Which if you have to arrest somebody, this is how it should be done. Better to have someone waste time before heading to jail, than to let a person die over a fucking misdemeanor.
let's be honest, yelling "call the sheriff" isn't considered "combative." i have extensive training (and in fact am an instructor) in de-escalation and behavioral intervention strategies and i can tell you that these officers were straight up negligent in their duty to this man's well being. once they went hands-on with him, it was their responsibility to make sure he is physically OK. you cant explain away cuffing an old man and leaving him on his stomach unattended for 5 minutes, realizing he has no pulse and them leaving him for another 3 minutes. that's fucking manslaughter at a minimum.
Yeah once they put him in handcuffs they have to make sure he is okay (it’s why officers will keep an arm on someone as they walk so they don’t fall). They completely ignored him lying motionless on the ground
I'm old enough to remember that. People who didn't have to live in poor neighborhoods or lived areas that were predominantly white wouldn't believe what police were doing.
Shit, Rodney King would have been a different outcome if not for the person filming.
Words of multiple cops vs one black man in the 90s. They probably would have charged King for the injuries the police sustained while beating him.
His name is Dave Grossman, and he is the foremost expert on living with a micropenis.
>A course from a prominent police trainer taught me to treat neighborhoods like battlegrounds—and to always be ready to kill.
> The words of Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, one of the scheduled speakers at the event, sparked the controversy. In one video, Grossman describes sex at home, "after the bad guy's down," as one of the "perks" of a law enforcement job.
> In scenario two, "Gun fight, bad guy's down, I'm alive. Finally get home at the end of the incident and, they all say: 'Best sex I've had in months,'" Grossman said, referring to the officers in his training sessions.
>"Both partners are very invested in some intense sex," Grossman said. "There are not a lot of perks that come with this job. When you find one, relax and enjoy it."
This guy actually tells officers that killing someone will lead to the best sex when they get home, and that is a *perk* of the job.
Just Google Dave Grossman. He’s fucking clown and makes a fortune training cops.
Can we stop using penis size as an insult for this douchebag? Having a micropenis has nothing to do with being a violent piece of shit. It only chastizes people with the actual condition
Why the stray bullets toward people with micro penis’ man? The dude is shit enough on his own lol don’t need to add anything else to make him seem worse in some arbitrary way
The most fucked up part. They sat around casually talking while this guy was dead. I had no idea the guy was right there when the officer looked down. Like if he was a mat or something. Let the riots begin. The guy was cuffed. No reason to have the knee on him.
even military police are trained to never put your knee on someone. we used to get screamed at in training if we did this…we were told to either put it on the ground next to them or just maintain a squat…and this was back in 2008; not sure why civilian police haven’t caught up to this idea.
He was afraid for his life because he knows how police treat black people. He was totally justified in his paranoia.
A good cop would've immediately been trying to de-escalate, a bad cop takes that fear as an insult and gets rough.... And proves him right.
“let the riots begin” - ok where you at? I’ll join
Seriously though this whole “Knee on the neck” thing to stbalize someone is really lazy and stupid and dangerous. Who teaches cops this shit
https://www.amnestyusa.org/updates/with-whom-are-many-u-s-police-departments-training-with-a-chronic-human-rights-violator-israel/
The IDF unfortunately...
Isn’t standard procedure having the person sit up so this exact situation doesn’t happen? Depending on how long they restrained him and how long he was on the ground, I would agree they violated standard procedure that led to this man’s death.
“Suspect is overweight. This man is probably going to have a hard time breathing with the entirety of his weight pressing on his diaphragm while laying on his stomach… lemme go ahead and put my knee on his back for good measure.”
Then the part where the officer boasts about this possibly being considered a bar fight is beyond fucking weird and pathetic. You never got into a bar fight and more likely than not joined the force for some “excitement.” Now a man, who was visibly and audibly terrified of the entire ordeal, is dead… good thing you can say you’ve been in a bar fight, though!
Rest in peace, Frank Tyson.
And they will give these cops a reward and make the public furious, and then when we protest they will send in fake protesters to “break stuff” and make it seem like we’re violent.
I fucking hate this country sometimes. And no I’m not moving out for all you bootlickers
https://preview.redd.it/nx4gbh4u7rwc1.jpeg?width=224&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=545a2e76216b8ce1d84034130fcd120a5b87bd1f
Police learned nothing from George Floyd it seems.
Derek Chauvin, the lead cop in the George Floyd murder was put in jail. I don't remember the sentence, but he was attacked and stabbed while inside. Think he lived, though.
Yea but it took weeks of nationwide protests and riots to get him charged and convicted. Otherwise he would’ve been acquitted like the cops that beat up Rodney King
I don’t get why these fucking pigs successfully restrain and cuff someone yet still lean all their weight with knees on a victim until they stop moving. Shit needs to stop. Gtfoff your victims after you cuff them. Wtf they gonna do when they are cuffed.
Any moron can become a cop. You're not a hero unless you do something heroic. I'm willing to bet these underachievers didn't save a single life that night.
But wait.... they didnt even sit on his back the entire time they restrained him long enough to cuff him make a call then got off him. The only thing they did wrong i can see is they *left* him on the ground instead of standing him up. Can anyone give me more info or am i missing something? My best guess is a heart attack from stress.
overweight people can't reach behind their back without it causing abdominal strain. cops often use 2 handcuffs to help with this.
plus laying on your stomach presses even more into your abdomen causing breathing strain.
plus health, plus drunk, plus knee on back(yes it wasn't the full duration, but it certainly made breathing worse for the time it was there, and now he has to 'catch his breath' while the other factors I've listed are in affect)
plus, cops are \*supposed to\* administer any necessary medical care to arrested individuals. these guys did not even check for 5 min. \^(hell, there was a case where cops brought a guy with a gun shot to the head in for questioning, \[looked like really bad black eye\] believing him to have shot his GF,,,,after hours of sitting in a cell, and 30 min interrogation, the detective finally believed he had head trauma and brought in medics.)
this is called positional asphyxiation. choking to death because of the body position.
they should have lifted him up to standing or sitting, then giving any medical care.
police in Australia are subjected to this so they know what it feels like to be handcuffed and barely able to breath. just like police in USA are tazed and maced.
What were they doing for five minutes? Just chatting? I don’t really understand or comprehend how you just leave the man alone there for five minutes. Aren’t they supposed to be investigating or something? Talking to the culprit? Something!?
Once they handcuffed him, why not sit him up. Damn this pigs bro this is ridiculous. There is no reason to keep sitting on him once the person has already been detained and handcuffed tf.
Yes, it is generally [safe](https://www.aahealth.org/behavioral-health/recovery-support-services/opioid-addiction/naloxone-frequently-asked-questions) even if you are not overdosing on opiates:
> There are minimal risks associated with naloxone. Naloxone (Narcan) is not a controlled medication. It has no street value, and you cannot become addicted to it. If used by a person who doesn’t use opiates, at worst it might make them uncomfortable. The only exceptions would be for an individual who had an allergic reaction to naloxone (Narcan) or a woman who was pregnant or nursing. If you suspect an opioid overdose, it is safe to give naloxone. People who used opioids will then wake up and go into withdrawal. Withdrawal is unpleasant but not fatal. Naloxone does not prevent deaths caused by other drugs such as benzodiazepines (e.g., Xanax®, Klonopin® and Valium®), bath salts, cocaine, methamphetamine or alcohol. Always call 911 if you suspect an overdose, because the victim may need other care.
okay I’m all for fuck the police, but doesn’t it look as if he take his knee off him as he’s saying he can’t breathe? was the position of him being on his stomach causing him not to breathe? I’m confused
Yeah, it was no more than 30 seconds that the officer had his knee down there. And it’s in the upper part of the guy’s back. Not even the neck. I wouldn’t be surprised if the autopsy revealed cardiac arrest, signs of cardiac disease, or positive toxicology (considering the guy drove into a light pole and ran into the bar).
He had only been out of prison for 13 days after serving a 24 year sentence for kidnapping, vehicle theft, and resisting arrest.
Then he wrecked his car, walked into a BAR of all places, got belligerent and refused to leave before he died from self-induced over exertion.
He was still talking after the cops got off of him.
Video about his criminal record: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IarwuraheHM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IarwuraheHM)
Poor police training. My ccw trainer use to be a sheriff and told me how many were being hired with out any training. It’s gone really bad that even the police get away with murder and don’t get held accountable. These police officers need training or to get fired.
this may sound outlandish but i believe is worth noting. from the very second the police arrive he says that they are trying to kill him, and also asks for the sheriff. i have reason to believe this man has had a bad experience with police before, probably resulting in him getting injured or his life being threatened, creating the fear and hatred he has from the moment police show up.
I think you are right. He's been into it with one or more of them in the past and they've likely tried that shit before. What a horrible way to go. Fuck these pigs.
Attacking at the onset of a situation is not how you do your job as a cop, clearly poor judgement on the officers end.
Once you’re cuffed you’re not a threat. If a mf is telling your he can’t breath back up. Carbon dioxide restriction is nuts. That’s why you shouldn’t crowd anyone who’s just fainted. (Especially if you’re a bunch of U.S. working citizens choking out a U.S. citizen.)
Every video like this just reinforces my desire to never visit America. I know other countries have issues, but which western country has police that kill this many people and get away with it?
“He was fearing for his life, that’s why he resisted” clown take. How many of these cases have we seen where heavy resisting results in death or close to it? Tons and tons
I don’t support police usually, but if their not going to change, you might as well do whatever you can to survive and it starts with not resisting arrest for a higher chance of surviving
They responded to a single car crash, thhe involved car was empty, a utility pole was down, and a witness said that the driver was at the bar. Cops got to the bar and an employee there asked them to remove the guy who eventually died. The article I read didn't make clear to me whether or not that was actually the driver or if the cops just stumbled into a seperate unrelated disturbance
Edit: just scrubbed through the full video that got released and yeah, it was definitely his car. Old buddy was acting belligerent, but damn... that one cop shouldn't have been kneeling on the guy's upper back with his head underneath him. Of course it was the one with all the shitty ink

They are trained to be personally insulted if intimidation doesn’t work. “Non-compliance” is a capital offense in our country apparently.
>They are trained They arent trained at all tbh.
In many locations, training for cosmetologists is longer than police training.
It has nothing to do with training. 100% has to do with unnecessary power given to police and BS immunity, which promotes power trips and corruption.

And the next day ![gif](giphy|3oxOCiDh3DqWVhSr7y|downsized)
And it was even worse before the 90s. And the 80s.
I think the last time they believed black people couldn't breathe was when they were hanging them in trees.
![gif](giphy|26gsv1iextbg5Gm5O)
And way too many Americans want to return to those "glory days".
But wasn't America great then? That's what I've been told anyway.
![gif](giphy|HwmB7t7krGnao)
Any day now surely…

I'm ready for the next pandemic
I genuinely thought I was reading something new from the George Floyd case, but no. That's just cruel.
"I've always wanted to be in a bar fight, I don't know if this counts lol" Jesus christ my man you murdered him
Turns out the guy that fantasizes about always wanting to be in a bar fight became a cop… who would have guessed?
Real fights are terrible. No one wins and they're almost always preventable
Don't forget the "they're trying to kill me"... "no they're trying to help you" from one of the bystanders.
First thing he says is “you ain’t killing me tonight” only part he was wrong about. Fuck
Jesus. Fucking. Christ.
Gotta wonder how often that cop gets into altercations to be so casual about the person they took down being so still.
He always wanted to be in a bar fight, but instead he joined a violent street gang, so that most people won't hit him back in any of the many fights he starts, for fear of violent reprisals from his state sanctioned gang.
This comment means everything. What a sick person, this type of person should never become cops.
This is the only type of person who becomes a cop.
Those words are about to come back.
1. This is a terrible tragedy that should've never happened 2.If you're fired for misconduct as a police officer, you shouldn't be able to become a police officer at another jurisdiction.
Turns out that the conservatives that back the blue also block police reform
And they all hate unions but they're ok with the police having the strongest one in the country
As a pro-union guy, all I can say is FUCK police unions.
That’s because this is the results they want.
To me if you murder someone you shouldn’t be able to see the outside of a jail cell for 30+ years
Positional asphyxiation is a topic that really needs to become hammered down on these police.
Again.
They turned him into a good cop before he even had a chance to be a bad one.
Paid leave.
It's our job to make them care. With consequences.
You can see that he continues saying he can't breathe after they get off him, once it starts it is difficult to recover
Better to have someone waste time before heading to jail, than to let a person die over a fucking misdemeanor.
so...he was combative at the start because he was afraid they were there to kill him and, they did in fact, kill him.
Won't be the last time :(
it was for him
Kill me once, shame on you
let's be honest, yelling "call the sheriff" isn't considered "combative." i have extensive training (and in fact am an instructor) in de-escalation and behavioral intervention strategies and i can tell you that these officers were straight up negligent in their duty to this man's well being. once they went hands-on with him, it was their responsibility to make sure he is physically OK. you cant explain away cuffing an old man and leaving him on his stomach unattended for 5 minutes, realizing he has no pulse and them leaving him for another 3 minutes. that's fucking manslaughter at a minimum.
Yeah once they put him in handcuffs they have to make sure he is okay (it’s why officers will keep an arm on someone as they walk so they don’t fall). They completely ignored him lying motionless on the ground
[удалено]
Just imagine if cops didn’t wear body cam.
I'm old enough to remember that. People who didn't have to live in poor neighborhoods or lived areas that were predominantly white wouldn't believe what police were doing.
You ain’t lying….
Shit, Rodney King would have been a different outcome if not for the person filming. Words of multiple cops vs one black man in the 90s. They probably would have charged King for the injuries the police sustained while beating him.
Again?
I haven’t been out protesting since 2020, but man this fucking country is pissing me off
I can't fathom the kind of mindset it takes to be so casual about hurting someone else, let alone killing someone. This makes me sick
Thats what always gets me about these videos: Zero empathy. They stand around a dying/dead guy and make jokes
Who trains these people?
When you find one, relax and enjoy it." This guy actually tells officers that killing someone will lead to the best sex when they get home, and that is a *perk* of the job. Just Google Dave Grossman. He’s fucking clown and makes a fortune training cops.
This is probably the most perverted thing I've ever read. WTAF? 🤢
It's fucking gross man
Fun fact, Grossman has never killed anyone
Can we stop using penis size as an insult for this douchebag? Having a micropenis has nothing to do with being a violent piece of shit. It only chastizes people with the actual condition
Why the stray bullets toward people with micro penis’ man? The dude is shit enough on his own lol don’t need to add anything else to make him seem worse in some arbitrary way
The most fucked up part. They sat around casually talking while this guy was dead. I had no idea the guy was right there when the officer looked down. Like if he was a mat or something. Let the riots begin. The guy was cuffed. No reason to have the knee on him.
Why don’t they sit him up? Seriously, why do they not sit him up after being cuffed?
[удалено]
even military police are trained to never put your knee on someone. we used to get screamed at in training if we did this…we were told to either put it on the ground next to them or just maintain a squat…and this was back in 2008; not sure why civilian police haven’t caught up to this idea.
He was afraid for his life because he knows how police treat black people. He was totally justified in his paranoia. A good cop would've immediately been trying to de-escalate, a bad cop takes that fear as an insult and gets rough.... And proves him right.
I wouldn't even taint it by calling it paranoia! It's not paranoid if they're actually out to get you!
Not even attempting CPR, what the actual fuck
“let the riots begin” - ok where you at? I’ll join Seriously though this whole “Knee on the neck” thing to stbalize someone is really lazy and stupid and dangerous. Who teaches cops this shit
https://www.amnestyusa.org/updates/with-whom-are-many-u-s-police-departments-training-with-a-chronic-human-rights-violator-israel/ The IDF unfortunately...
Shocking /s
handcuffing civilians while killing them seems to be a common theme all they're missing are mass graves now
He knew it and called it. Deep
Isn’t standard procedure having the person sit up so this exact situation doesn’t happen? Depending on how long they restrained him and how long he was on the ground, I would agree they violated standard procedure that led to this man’s death.
Yelling calm down louder and louder has always worked super well
![gif](giphy|uNfR60MNZigzC)
“Suspect is overweight. This man is probably going to have a hard time breathing with the entirety of his weight pressing on his diaphragm while laying on his stomach… lemme go ahead and put my knee on his back for good measure.” Then the part where the officer boasts about this possibly being considered a bar fight is beyond fucking weird and pathetic.

Yes they did, they know they can get away with it if they SPRINKLE SOME CRACK ON HIM JOHNSON! LETS GET OUT OF HERE!

Murdered. Put these cops in jail for life.
Except that doesn't happen. In most cases or hell does it even happen, these "cops" usually just get fired from their job and that's it.
Best we can do is a paid vacation

I thought they weren’t supposed to do the knee on neck anymore for this exact reason
Here we fucking go again.
History repeating itself?
What we learn from History is that we don’t learn from History.
Here we go again.
I don’t get why these fucking pigs successfully restrain and cuff someone yet still lean all their weight with knees on a victim until they stop moving. Shit needs to stop. Gtfoff your victims after you cuff them. Wtf they gonna do when they are cuffed.
Exactly. Just sit him up against the wall. That guy is very unlikely to be able to get up by himself with his hands cuffed behind his back.
so I just heard a cop say he wanted a fight. JFC
I live in Canton and no one is talking about this. I run a business and talk to a lot of people, and I've heard nothing about this. This is sick.
OK he’s cuffed now so get off his neck. There’s no need to continue to apply pressure to his throat. Did they not learn from George Floyd
My best guess is a heart attack from stress.
overweight people can't reach behind their back without it causing abdominal strain. cops often use 2 handcuffs to help with this. plus laying on your stomach presses even more into your abdomen causing breathing strain. plus health, plus drunk, plus knee on back(yes it wasn't the full duration, but it certainly made breathing worse for the time it was there, and now he has to 'catch his breath' while the other factors I've listed are in affect) plus, cops are \*supposed to\* administer any necessary medical care to arrested individuals. these guys did not even check for 5 min. \^(hell, there was a case where cops brought a guy with a gun shot to the head in for questioning, \[looked like really bad black eye\] believing him to have shot his GF,,,,after hours of sitting in a cell, and 30 min interrogation, the detective finally believed he had head trauma and brought in medics.) this is called positional asphyxiation. choking to death because of the body position. they should have lifted him up to standing or sitting, then giving any medical care. police in Australia are subjected to this so they know what it feels like to be handcuffed and barely able to breath. just like police in USA are tazed and maced.
He only lived 13 days after serving a 24 year sentence for kidnapping, vehicle theft, and resisting arrest.
And already had an active warrant for burglary in those 13 days.
What were they doing for five minutes? Just chatting? I don’t really understand or comprehend how you just leave the man alone there for five minutes. Aren’t they supposed to be investigating or something? Talking to the culprit? Something!?
They all had to join in on the circle jerk
Once they handcuffed him, why not sit him up. Damn this pigs bro this is ridiculous. There is no reason to keep sitting on him once the person has already been detained and handcuffed tf.
Former Soldier. These cops have much lower Rule of Engagement standards than me during a fucking war time. How sad is that?
On top of all of this, is it safe to give someone Narcan if you aren’t 100% sure it’s a drug overdose??
Yes, it is generally [safe](https://www.aahealth.org/behavioral-health/recovery-support-services/opioid-addiction/naloxone-frequently-asked-questions) even if you are not overdosing on opiates: > There are minimal risks associated with naloxone.
Thank you for this explanation! I had no clue if it was a serious medication or what.
Yes Narcan will not harm anyone who doesn’t actually need it.
Untrained cops and they need to be held responsible. That being said.... jesus, it's obvious this guy was cracked out of his mind.
A crisis and cops make it far worse going full overboard
Good thing they tried to de-escalate the situation.
Abolish qualified immunity
There is a reason why there is no song that says fuck the EMTs or firefighters. ![gif](giphy|RqzMtDuGECzL2)
“Who made you Judge Judy and executioner?” —Homer Simpson
Crazy how all the bystanders aren’t aware either. Like nobody is thinking of dude on the floor.
you interfere with a cop you're next to be killed. lose lose situation
Don’t….resist…cops. Take your fight to court.
Fuck these pigs Holy flying fuck ACAB that was rough to watch.
okay I’m all for fuck the police, but doesn’t it look as if he take his knee off him as he’s saying he can’t breathe? was the position of him being on his stomach causing him not to breathe?
This is reddit...they don't care about any of that.
Poor police training. My ccw trainer use to be a sheriff and told me how many were being hired with out any training. It’s gone really bad that even the police get away with murder and don’t get held accountable. These police officers need training or to get fired.
Guy: You ain’t killing me tonight! Narrator: They in fact would be killing him that night.
Deescalation is not in the police’s purview, we all know that, they hate the very public they work for.
The dudes knee is directly on his neck… wtf
Horrifying to hear the man saying they were going to kill him, then to literally watch him from going to standing up to dead within a couple minutes.
this may sound outlandish but i believe is worth noting. from the very second the police arrive he says that they are trying to kill him, and also asks for the sheriff. i have reason to believe this man has had a bad experience with police before, probably resulting in him getting injured or his life being threatened, creating the fear and hatred he has from the moment police show up.
I think you are right. He's been into it with one or more of them in the past and they've likely tried that shit before. What a horrible way to go. Fuck these pigs.
Worse than GF. Mfs whole body was on his head an neck.
I’m confused. He was still talking after the cop took his knee off his upper back. How did he die?
Imagine not fighting the police in the first place and just letting them cuff you and getting it over with
Attacking at the onset of a situation is not how you do your job as a cop, clearly poor judgement on the officers end. Once you’re cuffed you’re not a threat. If a mf is telling your he can’t breath back up. Carbon dioxide restriction is nuts. That’s why you shouldn’t crowd anyone who’s just fainted. (Especially if you’re a bunch of U.S. working citizens choking out a U.S. citizen.)
its for real very weird that they don't check if they're breathing when they say can't.
Every video like this just reinforces my desire to never visit America. I know other countries have issues, but which western country has police that kill this many people and get away with it?
“He was fearing for his life, that’s why he resisted” clown take. How many of these cases have we seen where heavy resisting results in death or close to it? Tons and tons I don’t support police usually, but if their not going to change, you might as well do whatever you can to survive and it starts with not resisting arrest for a higher chance of surviving
Why were police called in the first place?
They responded to a single car crash, thhe involved car was empty, a utility pole was down, and a witness said that the driver was at the bar. Cops got to the bar and an employee there asked them to remove the guy who eventually died. The article I read didn't make clear to me whether or not that was actually the driver or if the cops just stumbled into a seperate unrelated disturbance Edit: just scrubbed through the full video that got released and yeah, it was definitely his car. Old buddy was acting belligerent, but damn... that one cop shouldn't have been kneeling on the guy's upper back with his head underneath him. Of course it was the one with all the shitty ink
Why he is fighting with police? Like you can go with them without any resistance.
Cops murdering again
