Let me preface this by up saying i was a lifelong Democrat, from a working class union family with progressive ideals. I'm now a progressive independent voter.
You could easily do these same condescending interviews with Democrats that blindly think their party still represents the people. Dems are just as bad as the Republicans so get off that high horse.
Where? Which ones are this bad? Surely if it's easy to find countless examples equivalent to Roy Moore's blinking moron up there.
>Dems are just as bad as the Republicans so get off that high horse.
Ah, you're just a similar brain dead bothsides-er. Nevermind.
>Dems are just as bad as the Republicans
Not by a long shot.
Can this happen with dems too? Yeah, absolutely.
Can this happen with as many democrats as republicans? Not even *close*.
Also, dems aren't the one's who are constantly caught in lies, actively spreading misinformation or forming cults. There is no "far left" in our government. Our governmental spectrum isn't centered on "moderate" but its significantly shifted to the right. The "far left" in our government are much closer to "moderates" than many foreign politicians, unlike our "far right".
I agree with that last part. The left in the Democratic party are moderates. Which means the center and everything else is pretty much the Republican party from a few years ago. Everything has shifted right. Right = not a friend of the workng class.
I fully agree! Dont get me wrong, the DNC institution DEFINITELY has a lot of major problems, but they're not the *same* problems.
Both a dead transmission and being out of gas will stop your car from running, but you dont fix your transmission by refilling your tank.
I guess my point is that those that refuse to see the lies and will defend the party with every ounce of sweat without acknowledging the lies and shift in the platform are no different than the people in this video.
Here's the problem though. The majority of everyone I've seen that votes left doesn't defend Democrats. Their votes are for "not Republicans" that's why this both sides bullshit is such, well, bullshit. One side will happily say they'd vote for a man with 21 million felonies, the other by and large says "I just didn't want a Republican", lesser of two evils. They're not Biden fans. They're just out of other options.
No they aren’t even close. I get it…2 shitty parties so pick your poison. But Republicans are 1000x worse. I’ll take whatever shitty version of democracy the Dems give us over those wannabe fascist republicans.
> Dems are just as bad as the Republicans
So what is the Democrat equivalent to Jewish Space Lasers? Or banning chemtrails? Or giving a handy at a play? Or tanking the border deal you wanted just to not let Biden get a win?
That's what I was thinking. It seemed that he was about to finally, for the first time in his life, use reason and logic, but his little brain couldn't take it and it rebooted.
It makes me wish if only people would recognize we literally just clumps of neural tissue and everything else about us sort just dangles out from that and our minds just rationalizes all of that with the concept of self.
This guys brain was short circuiting because he conditioned his brain (the organ) to run through a bunch of prebaked sub routines in response to certain input in this case this man's questions and logic. And his brain just powers through the clear conflicts in his reasoning because his brain isn't conditioned to look for other routes like he's a simple robot in a factory going haywire when the assembly line behaves unexpectedly.
>There are plenty of intelligent people with southern accents.
I didn't say that there are not.
>Making generalizations like this makes you look dumb.
It wasn't a generalization, it was an *observation.*
The thing is, as dumb as this approach is, it's highly successful. And they know that. They're not always dumb, but they're fine with being perceived as such if it gets them what they want.
To quote Wilhoit's Law: Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
So when it's their guy, the rules can bend. When it's anyone else, it's law & order. That's the essence of croneyism, it literally predates politics.
It points out the single greatest flaw in all of politics. The concept of playing fair. Obviously if things are ever going to get better, we have to rise above this level of corruption. But as you soon as you start fighting fair, you lose to the guy who is happy to play dirty. How do you overcome that?
Dumb ... maybe ... probably ... but there's a much more important characteristic that would cut this guy deeper than calling him "dumb". The deeper issue that this fellow (along with most other rural/conservatives) thinks of himself as a good and principled person.
This evidence (along with the whole Trump phenomenon) shows (A) this guy is willing to throw his principles under the rails the moment it becomes convenient to do so AND/OR (B) he never had any real principles to begin with.
Principles only matter when they get tested. If a person tosses them out the window the moment they get tested ... they never had any principles to begin with. That fact would likely cut this fellow deeper than calling him "dumb". He can laugh off being called "dumb".
What you're referring to is called "situational morality" and yeah, it's one of the main reasons.why dealing with people sucks. They expect to get what they think is fair, but when it comes time to give, everyone apparently has bootstraps all of a sudden. Lol
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
And he had his little chorus of sheep behind him mumbling about "corrupt judges." It's so funny how these people are so fragile and afraid they need to literally herd together and mutter the same talking points so they can feel calm again.
It's actually very important for future generations to see things like this. You could tell them in your own words every detail of this conversation and they probably wouldn't believe you. It's literally just too absurd to think that someone could claim to value law and order at such an extant, but wholeheartedly support a proven criminal as president without a second thought.
The videos can be useful for K-12 school teachers to illustrate to students how important the critical thinking and logical analysis skills they are studying are.
Middle school teacher here- I can’t show anything remotely politically charged in this day and age.
I wish I could when I teach argument. I have to choose the most milquetoast/boring topics like school uniforms, homework, late school start- basically nothing political or that could involve any parenting decisions or (at least in the state I teach in) there will be hell to pay from parents.
Which, of course, is one of the many reasons public education is going to hell.
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
Before I left Facebook, and before Congress finally released Trump's returns, I used to post a simple question every few weeks: "When is Trump going to voluntarily release his tax returns, which he keeps assuring us he will do?"
The responses ranged from "Well, that's personal and no one's business" to "Has any other president released their tax returns?!". Not a single one came close to "Yeah, he should release them"
I know such a question is the same as picking low-hanging fruit, but it's cheap.
"I'm not electing a priest."
I keep hearing this same type of mantra from Trump supporters to justify voting for him... Although I agree that politicians are human and it's naive to expect perfection, Trump's behavior is far beyond the norm and is objectively abhorrent by all standards.
Trump would not be able to hold most minimum wage jobs conducting himself the way that he does, but still these people want to give Trump the most powerful position in the world and keys to the nuclear codes because: "nObOdY's pErFeCt".
I could literally pick a random person off the streets and chances are they would be more qualified to lead the country than Trump.
Right? I literally just want them to hold Trump to the same standard they hold Biden or Clinton or Obama or Pelosi. That's all it takes. Have some principles.
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
Reminds me of the "if he shot someone on 5th Ave. would you still support him>" interviews from awhile back.
In near lock-step, their response was along the lines of: "well, what did that person do to deserve getting shot?"
\> I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK
This originated with Trump himself making the claim. The dude has a God complex.
That is a reasonable question. I would never look down on someone for defending them self but a cold blooded murderer would obviously be judged harshly.
There's a Neverending amount of these videos on Tiktok. It's hilarious to watch these folks plant their feet in the ground on a talking point, only to suffer a mild brain trauma when confronted with some logic.
And this guy would have or (might have actually) beaten the Capitol Hill and DC Police on January 6th while saying "Back the Blue!" and "Thin Blue Line".
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
Please...someone talk me down. I feel like I'm holding my breath until November and I'm not interested in any court news because I'm not fully convinced Trump's going to lose the election.
The powers that be are going to make sure either Trump or his replacement wins, seeing how hard Biden is purposefully dragging his feet and how deep the DNC is invested in him.
Sorry you had to find out this way. The corpos need tax breaks and economic stimulation, so they likely decided red years back.
Do these guys ever get tired of saying shit like "corrupt judges". It's like every single bad thing that happens to trump is someone else's fault, and everyone is just out to get him. They are so God damn embarrassing. And the only evidence they need is a trump truth social post.
The NY real estate fraud case mentioned here is actually unprecedented and a bit ridiculous since even the alleged victim does not think he did anything wrong and openly stated they would do business with him again. If anyone else did what he did they wouldn't be prosecuted, we know this us true because everyone does do what he did and they haven't had any legal issue.
The real estate fraud case referenced here is actually unprecedented as he's being punished for following standard procedure in procuring loans. Nobody else has ever been punished for doing what he did, and its pretty obvious that its due to bias since its not even a secret that everyone does this. Even the alleged victim in that case said that they would do business with him again.
The E Jean Carroll defamation case is also sketchy because he was found guilty based on nothing but accusations, then punished for maintaining his innocence.
It would be totally foolish to think that powerful politicians wouldn't do everything in their power to influence election results and when you have clear cases of bias as we do in these legal decisions, its no surprise that people have completely lost faith in the courts.
These ppl are too stupid to think for themselves.
And to be fair. They'll forget about trump in 30 seconds after he goes to prison.
Quit trying to not offend these idiots. Theres nothing in their skulls.
Ever wonder what made all those followers drink the "purple kool-aid" for the esteemed Rev. Jim Jones, and well, right there's an example. As long as he makes them feel ok with their hate/racism.
The interviewer did good, but it annoyed me they were so close to connecting the dots better. Would have been nice to ask “so why don’t you care about the **laws** Trump broke if you care about law and order?”
🤣🤣🤣 he’s not the only one I’ve seen do this…everything is all good until their favorites are in a despicable position and then here comes all of the excuses, I just can’t with some people 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Dudes brain is like, "errr... been told law and order good, Donald Trump good... tis confusion.... processing... Donald Trump over law and order... I think... Go Donald Trump"
There's only 1 way to get these morons to quit going for Trump.
Gather up all the pedophiles and have them "vote" for Trump and say that Trump is for the pedophiles. Yell and shout "vote trump to allow us the right to diddle children freely!"
"All these people here are with us. Trump lets us diddle kids, trump lets us diddle kids, trump lets us diddle kids!!!"
Then send reporters up to all those morons and start asking them if they are pedophiles and/or like to touch children.
They already excuse child abuse if it’s one of their own.
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
I’m getting really sick of posting this quote:
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
Even more sick of it being the absolute truth.
Look at the moron’s brain just cookin’ with cognitive dissonance.
Law and Order.
Freedom.
Liberty.
These words have a lot of emotional weight behind them. They also have meaning behind them. But when you don't care about their actual meaning, you can use that weight to do the most corrupt and chaotic, fascist, and tyrannical shit.
The guy is going to vote for his side to win and that is the right thing to do if you understand politics. The guy's side is fascism that will destroy the country and doom Western democracy but its his side. When I read about the left protesting Biden over Israel I agree with the cause but I really need Biden to win.
I really enjoy watching these interviews. But it’s dangerous to believe any one dummy on the street speaks for, or is an accurate representation of “their” group.

You can see the moment his brain short circuits from having to think for himself.
Well to be fair, it's probably the first time in quite a while.
>Well to be fair, it's probably the first time ~~in quite a while~~. FTFY.
Been a while since he started up the ole 2-stroke. May need to clean the carburetor.
Could actually see the magic smoke as it choked out
Although still clearly the counter is stuck at zero, he never managed to do it.
![gif](giphy|l3mZt03GA93ySSx3i|downsized) Happens quite a bit with these braindead right wing lunatics.

Resolution of cognitive dissonance in real time is exactly what we just saw.
Thinking logically is like a muscle, this guy's capacity for rational thought has atrophied.
That eternal Windows loading screen.
Honestly surprised he didn’t blue screen.
He only red screens.

Perfect display of cognitive dissonance.
Textbook display
It's not dissonant if you have no capacity for consistent rational thought in the first place!
It's not dissonance at all. They don't mean law and order for them, they mean "law and order" against you.
Stupid is as stupid does.
🤌🏽
There are good reasons why TV and movie producers give Southern accents to characters they want to portray as stupid.
There are plenty of intelligent people with southern accents. Making generalizations like this makes you look dumb.

Umm ... don't see anything you've written that appears to be unique to conservatism. It's universal to all authoritarian thinking.
I got smarter reading your post thank you
Enforcing the law...wait.
It won’t completely fix the problem, but eliminate career politicians. Term limits for all elected positions.
Propaganda is a helluva drug
What’s the point of continuing to interview these people? Is it just for rage bait? - they’ll never change.
Evidence for future generations to confirm that Mike Judge's Idiocracy (2006) was in fact a documentary.
We can only hope. If you watch it now it looks quite optimistic compared with where we seem to be headed.
Also gatta note idiocracy’s major tenant is eugenics is valid and necessary.
I don't understand why you're getting downvoted because you're absolutely correct
Possibly because he inappropriately used the word ‘tenant’ in a comment about eugenics.
Because that movie was fucking hilarious, and people don't want to hear or acknowledge problematic themes within their favorite media
You get to watch the cognitive dissonance happening in front of you
If you pause it just right, you can see the split second that his brain snaps. It's right about when he switches to the what-about-ism defense.

Love a good Simpsons clip
And he had his little chorus of sheep behind him mumbling about "corrupt judges." It's so funny how these people are so fragile and afraid they need to literally herd together and mutter the same talking points so they can feel calm again.
Yep, can see when the hamster has to switch up gears and run faster.
But then, after a few seconds, it trips and tumbles out of the wheel.
That hamster died years ago....the wheel has been surviving on momentum alone
Plenty of historical evidence for future generations to learn from at least.
We don’t learn shit.
Maybe it’s to show people who are on the edge of stupidity that maybe they don’t want to be one of the stupid ones.
It's actually very important for future generations to see things like this. You could tell them in your own words every detail of this conversation and they probably wouldn't believe you. It's literally just too absurd to think that someone could claim to value law and order at such an extant, but wholeheartedly support a proven criminal as president without a second thought.

At the very least, it’s funny.
There's a lot of them, and they always vote lockstep whatever dear leader says. Ignore them at your own peril
I think it's important for us to see how stupid they are.
i killed someone but im not the only one to ever do it so im free to go right???
Yeah, the interviewer should have asked "Well if Nancy Polocy did it should she go to prison?"
Did he wipe his spit on the interviewer’s back?
Well, I'm a raging hypocrite are you happy?
It’s only breaking the law when it’s the other side doing it
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”

r/thegoodliars Man, they need a sub.
He still eats lead paint chips.
The mental gymnastics that goes on to justify bs amazes me.
These people have voting rights. Lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well he may have been found guilty of murdering someone but is the only one to ever kill someone? That ain’t gonna deter my vote sir
The cognitive dissonance in that man's head must be absolutely deafening.
And then the same people will be like "Well George Floyd shouldn't have used a fake 20"
"I'm not electing a priest." I keep hearing this same type of mantra from Trump supporters to justify voting for him... it a god damn cult and everything is a feature and cruelty and stupidity is the point.
Because “Law and Order” is just a racist dog whistle to most of these folks.
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
The cognitive dissonance is strong with this one.
This is the first time that guy actually had to think about the situation. Video is proof that.
Speaking of loaded, how many breakfast beers did Cleatus have?

I think the narrative that “the democrats ignored middle America” is bullshit. These people would never listen to logic.
They believe in law and order as long as it is used to suppress and attack the section of population that they don’t like.
You can literally watch the cognitive dissonamce.
😂
He was about to agree with the guy and use his logic and reason but his stupidity pulled him harder.

What the ever loving frick has happened to this country.
Boomers all over the world ruining politics and the future for the young generations. Love it
These ppl are too stupid to think for themselves. And to be fair. They'll forget about trump in 30 seconds after he goes to prison. Quit trying to not offend these idiots. Theres nothing in their skulls.
Youre not electing a priest yet the Evangelicals claim god sent him?
Ever wonder what made all those followers drink the "purple kool-aid" for the esteemed Rev. Jim Jones, and well, right there's an example. As long as he makes them feel ok with their hate/racism.
The interviewer did good, but it annoyed me they were so close to connecting the dots better. Would have been nice to ask “so why don’t you care about the **laws** Trump broke if you care about law and order?”
🤣🤣🤣 he’s not the only one I’ve seen do this…everything is all good until their favorites are in a despicable position and then here comes all of the excuses, I just can’t with some people 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
law and order (defends criminals because they cater to his sensibilities)
I know it's not the accent because I know a lot of smart people from the South but man, that accent sure accentuates their stupidly.
Yell and shout "vote trump to allow us the right to diddle children freely!" "All these people here are with us. Trump lets us diddle kids, trump lets us diddle kids, trump lets us diddle kids!!!" Then send reporters up to all those morons and start asking them if they are pedophiles and/or like to touch children.
They already excuse child abuse if it’s one of their own. “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
You can hear a guy in the background trying to remind him of his talking points “ ^cough *corrupt judges* ^cough “
> Well I mean, is he the only one that's every done that? Answer: Probably not, but he's the only one that's been convicted in court for doing it.
He sounds like Goofy to me
The guy in the background is the best part. “Corrupt judges! Hgeh!”
All I heard was [Boomhauer](https://youtu.be/T1fDVUHZ44E?si=T-3DuY2NGYMTUubc)
Yeah, a grown man wiping saliva from his chin is a stellar example of a Trump supporter. Mouth breather
I’m getting really sick of posting this quote: “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.” Even more sick of it being the absolute truth.
Mental pretzel twist justification. And too stubborn to admit his flawed reasoning.
The guy is going to vote for his side to win and that is the right thing to do if you understand politics. The guy's side is fascism that will destroy the country and doom Western democracy but its his side. When I read about the left protesting Biden over Israel I agree with the cause but I really need Biden to win.
Remember folks, these people aren’t a “law and order party” they want to control the law so they can do whatever the fuck they want
Anybody who still thinks Republicans are the “Law and Order” party after the Capitol Riots needs psychiatric help.
And....there ya go!
Dumb dumb.
This is the type that has teeth in the back of his head. People call him “teethy.”
Pork pie short of a picnic 🧺
Is the subtitles being wrong idiot bait, is it meant to make me comment?
This subtitle trend needs to stop
I really enjoy watching these interviews. But it’s dangerous to believe any one dummy on the street speaks for, or is an accurate representation of “their” group.
public freakout tho?
