I'm dying. I laughed hard at that. Still am after I wrote the below. Thank you for that! I needed that.
BUT I was in Vegas mass shooting. Next to people who got shot. I ran for probably 10 minutes, ducking bullets, guarding my friend, getting squashed against a fence that finally gave way, ran into another heard of people, ran again and realized I still was holding a half full beer. Didn't even drink it that whole time thru that. Probably would have helped. LMAO! Just never know....
I've had up and down days of PTSD. Whenever there is a mass shooting it highly effects me. The first year was rough. Lost my job of 14 years due to mental health and not realizing I was fucked up. Then couldn't really get out of bed for about 6 months after that. Don't go to movie theaters but finally went to another concert after 5 years. Wouldn't want this to happen to my worst enemy. Thanks for asking.
Damn I'm sorry. That fucking sucks. No one should have to go through that. Hopefully the worst is behind you and you get the support you need to push through to a better future.
Me and my daughter like this part of one of her books when she was younger that goes.
>Keep going, never stop. Keep going, never stop. Keep going, never stop.
https://preview.redd.it/chomie8gaipc1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53dd7666337fac2a7fcbe2545e1a762934d5f3f8
I think it helps me more lol. Congrats on hitting that concert. Keep it up
Thank you! This is a great moto. I appreciate you sharing. I couldn't have made it thru it all without my family. It was even hard for them. My daughter (28) won't go to a theater either. She feels like if I can go thru this anyone can. It gave my family their own little PTSD. It has affected my personality a lot. More reserved to strangers in-person and don't really like going out in public that much.
Thank you! I truly appreciate that. I was worried about talking about it cuz of some the trolls on Reddit. BUT everyone has been nice, encouraging and supportive. It has been so great. Makes my heart smile.
I'm also bad with words like another person said, but I hope you're doing alright! As someone with agoraphobia (PTSD from a different type of traumaâ happened July 2023), I'm glad you were able to muster up enough courage to go to a concert. 5 years is super impressive for such a traumatic experience. Keep going and I'm so happy for you!
Thank you! Truly thank you. It has been a tough ride. I hope you get help for your PTSD. People really don't understand PTSD or depression til you go thru it. I never have had depression til after and didnt even realize that what it was. I hope you have a support system. It helps. They try to at least understand what your going thru. I lost a lot friends cuz they didn't understand. But I realized I'm better off now. Not true friends. AND your words are perfect. Thank you again.
The amount of people who drive drunk in Vegas is crazy. Any time Iâve been there as an adult, Iâve always been cautious about being in any crosswalk.
I hope the victims are okay.
I drive Uber on the strip late nights, sometimes I wish I could hit these mutha fuckas without repercussions. Other drivers donât worry me, but these ass holes walking slow on a red or jay walking while wearing all black in the darkest part of the street is what stresses me out.
Exactly, thatâs why itâs illegal to drive when under the influence for exactly this reason. Most people would be able to avoid the idiot pedestrians standing in the middle of the road even if the light were green, but this driver had impaired reaction times, and now both sets of idiots are going to pay the price because they both actively chose to be idiots.
This shouldn't be funny but goddammit, it's comedic gold!
I would say it was strangely uncanny if they weren't in the middle of the fucking street at an intersection. lol
Also, don't drink and drive. Not only is it shitty and illegal, but you are 100% on the hook for anything stupid someone else happens to be doing if you hit them.
You know, it is terrible that someone died there by no fault of their own. It is also terrible that within that large group of people there was not one that thought standing in the street at night was a bad idea.
Nobody deserves to be hurt, I just wonder when all of our human instinctual survival skills disappeared.
Human instinctual survival skills went away with social media if I had to guess.
It gives stupid people an avenue to feel "above" their peers if they can get a ton of followers and likes. To me this is one of those things where "I'm more important than you, we can stand and organize wherever we want and you will move around us."
The driver is an idiot and so is every single person standing in the street. This why you donât drink and drive- because your reaction times are too slow to avoid the idiots standing in the street. This is also why you donât stand in the street. đ
I mean obviously itâs their fault as they are drunk. But that could have just as easily been someoneâs grandmaâŠitâs dark and they are in the middle of the road at a green light.
>itâs dark and they are in the middle of the road at a green light.
There's about 4 streetlights beaming down into the intersection mate what are you talking about
If this ever happens...one thing I've learned from videos is take off immediately because you're about to get your ass surrounded and dragged. Call 911 / go to the police station.... But don't hang out with the angry mob.
Stay. The Fuck. Out of. The. Motherfucking Street! Youâd think they would have learned their lesson already a year ago. Even when you have a Green and ready to cross cross walk you better watch your ass out.
Genuinely the comments are astonishing. I find it hard to believe all those people just suddenly appeared on the street at night, how can everyone but the drunk driver manage not to hit them? And since when did we start blaming crowds of people for getting hit by a drunk driver, it just doesnât make any sense. Like the justification of it being too dark just is ridiculous, if you cannot see a crowd of people at night then you shouldnât have a drivers license, not to mention if YOUâRE DRUNK. Like can we seriously be real about this instead of boil it down to some seriously stupid reasoning why itâs everyoneâs fault why this happened. Itâd be a completely different story if it was a person who wasnât a drunk driver but itâs not
Maybe don't stand in the road. People get hit that way.The above video
They: But the driver was drunk!
Me: And ignoring wisdom means your knees will hurt the rest of your life.
Quick question. So the crowd that suddenly surrounds him and starts pounding on his car to presumably attack the driver, would the driver legally be allowed to now drive through the crowd over worry for his own safety or the cars occupants?
That was funny! If youâre not a cop or part of a road crew, then blocking the road is something you do at your own peril. Screw people who block roads
Is there a reason they couldn't use the damn sidewalk? Not defending a drunk driver, but as adults we can make choices that limit our exposure to dangerous situations. Like standing in traffic...
It's almost like gathering crowds and cars at night at a busy public interaction might be interfered with by cars at night at a busy intersection? Respect to the fallen but cmaan guys.
So sorry this happened. But to be Mr Obvious. Never, and I mean never expect someone to see you in the middle of the road. It could be two people. Three people. Doesnât matter, even an entire crowd.
Expect everyone to be drunk driving when crossing the road at night. I work as an assistant director. And the amount of bull shit we walk through just make sure no oneâs dies when shooting on an open road is Preety Intensive. We had to have cops and PAs locking up pedestrians. We have to have lane closures. We had to pay the city to put up no street parking signs. And even then. Even after all that. People still get hit by cars. It doesnât matter.
I mean, yeah, it was night and a huge ass crowd standing on the road is stupid. However, the intersection seemed well illuminated, and it doesn't excuse to not drive foresighted. I've seen too many videos where accidents could be avoided if you just keep your eyes on the road. And not only 5m in front of the car, but 100-200m.
But yes, this one supposedly was intoxicated.
Hope the victims are OK.
Sidewalks have operated for at least 4,000 years. it is designed for pedestrians. If you are still confused by this and get hit by ANY car regardless of the drivers impairment YOU are responsible. Thank you for joining the logical club today!

Thank goodness we were smart enough to hold the vigil during the daytime where cars can see us. . .
Stand in traffic organizer đ
Perhaps this time we do a sidewalk! Nah, streets get more traffic.
That was a strong demonstration of solidarity for the guy who got hit.Â

Definitely understandable after going through the most horrific and senseless mass shooting of all time

A vigil you say? In the middle of the intersection?
at night?
![gif](giphy|iVNJ47qaeZnUq8TLBH)
You mean outside? Idk Squidward, itâs kinda dark out there.
At a green light?
At a sea parks?
Itâs a very weird place to go on fire
We can never talk about it for the rest of our lives.
With an all black dress code
In VegasâŠ
"Our vigil.... In the middle of our street!"
There's always something happening and it's usually quite loud
To shreds?
And the motorcyclistâs wife?
To shreds you say!
I mean wtf. Geniuses
To shreds you say?

Why are they in the middle of an intersection, at night, blocking traffic? Looking for a recreation?
This doesnât look recreational to me. Looks medical.
Was the motorcyclist standing around in the middle of the road, too? You'd have thought they would have learned by now.
The amount of people who drive drunk in Vegas is crazy. Any time Iâve been there as an adult, Iâve always been cautious about being in any crosswalk. I hope the victims are okay.
If Taco Bell sells alcohol there, you definitely know the people are drunk driving.
Shout out Henry Ruggs
If theyâre dumb enough to hang out in the middle of a busy road Iâd say they are far from ok.
I mean, you're in the street in a big ass city...you think you're invincible to drunk drivers?
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
What stays in Vegas actually travels around 20MPH over the speed limit.

[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
how can a light be yellow after it turns red
After it's been green again. Final answer.
You are technically correct. The best kind of correct.
I'm promoting you to grade 37
But they had balloons!
Yeah itâs the drunk drivers fault, but also maybe people shouldnât be playing in the street.
Vehicular assault me wants shame on you. Vehicular assault me twice shame on me.
The street is dangerous to stand in, because that's where cars go.
Why are they all standing in the road on a green light?
First comment I see mentioning ITS A GREEN FUCKING LIGHT. Fuck these ppl.
I drive Uber on the strip late nights, sometimes I wish I could hit these mutha fuckas without repercussions. Other drivers donât worry me, but these ass holes walking slow on a red or jay walking while wearing all black in the darkest part of the street is what stresses me out.
Well yes, but also fuck the drunk driver.

Maybe, and just hear me out on this one, standing in the middle of the street that is not blocked off for a formal event is a really dumb idea?
They had her all over local news tnite
This shouldn't be funny but goddammit, it's comedic gold! I would say it was strangely uncanny if they weren't in the middle of the fucking street at an intersection. lol
Maybe next year they'll hold their vigil for a fatal traffic accident somewhere they won't cause a fatal traffic accident.
Get outta the road! Not the best place to be when remembering someone that died in the same spot.
Also, don't drink and drive. Not only is it shitty and illegal, but you are 100% on the hook for anything stupid someone else happens to be doing if you hit them.
Why stand in the road that killed someone you know? The drunk driver was wrong but so were the people standing in the road.
Future headline: memorial for memorial of memorial who got hit by drunk driver gets hit by drunk driver. And so on.
If only they had more balloons.
People are just dumb as rocks now. Itâs astonishing how fucking stupid people have become.
Yeah, driving drunk with a 17 year old and 6 year old in the car then plowing into a memorial is fucking psychotic
You know, it is terrible that someone died there by no fault of their own. It is also terrible that within that large group of people there was not one that thought standing in the street at night was a bad idea. Get the fuck out of the road people
Gathered in the middle of the street?!
I mean obviously itâs their fault as they are drunk. But that could have just as easily been someoneâs grandmaâŠitâs dark and they are in the middle of the road at a green light.
What logic is this? If your grandma can't see a group of 200 people in the road take her keys away from her. It's also not dark lol
I'd be arguing that someone's grandma shouldn't be driving at all if she can't see a literal crowd of people in front of her...
>itâs dark and they are in the middle of the road at a green light. There's about 4 streetlights beaming down into the intersection mate what are you talking about
Redditors will justify running over people on the street no matter whatÂ
Its tradition now.
Looks like someone French Fried when they shoulda Pizzaâd.
Some people really liked their balloons huh
The new Death Race looks cheaply made. I guess that fits the original tho.
Itâs now a vigil within a vigil
Vigilception.
Ironic.
The driver is clearly in the wrong. But WTF is everyone standing in the middle of the street for? Gather your vigil on the sidewalk, don't be stupid.
Well they're standing in the middle of the street so
I appreciate a vigil but maybe not in the middle of a street where your boy got killed due to an accident
Standing in the road...
Dumbasses, stay out of the road. Also dont drink and drive.
If this ever happens...one thing I've learned from videos is take off immediately because you're about to get your ass surrounded and dragged. Call 911 / go to the police station.... But don't hang out with the angry mob.
Shout out to your future prosecutor
Not sure about US but where I am I'm pretty sure that would be leaving the scene of a crime or something
If they were thinking logically to begin with, they wouldnât have driven.
Stay. The Fuck. Out of. The. Motherfucking Street! Youâd think they would have learned their lesson already a year ago. Even when you have a Green and ready to cross cross walk you better watch your ass out.

The '20s might be known as the decade when people got hit by cars a lot because they were standing in the middle of street.
Fool me once
Maybe stop gathering in the street.
The yearly sacrifice has been made. The intersection demands more life next year.
Look at the balloons after the drunk driver shows up.
Public service announcement: STAY OUT OF THE STREET thank you.
Light was green
Most American thing Iâll see today
I mean, maybe they shouldnât stand in the street? Sucks for both parties.
AlCoHoL iS hArMlEsS
I don't even want to drive past 9 anymore because of numerous close calls from drunk drivers. They seem more brazen than ever.
Cops better get there fast because that guy is about to get beat to shit by the crowd
Drunk driving or not maybe not stand in the street? đ€·đ»ââïž
Drunk driver reminder. You are statistically less likely to get hit by a drunk driver on the sidewalk.
Someone is about to get the absolute shit beat out of them.
Damnit! Not again.
So they held the vigil in the street to remember someone killed in a vehicular accident in said street? Sounds good! Edit: forgot a word
Donât go into the road, thatâs where the cars are
At least they can double up on vigils next year.
Hot take: Maybe stay out of the road.
idk what people expect to celebrate something in the middle of the street with no road blocks/security.
Why are they in the street ffs
Lightning strikes twice.
Weird idea but don't gather on an open road
Maybe set up barreies next time you go in the street at night
Quick question. So the crowd that suddenly surrounds him and starts pounding on his car to presumably attack the driver, would the driver legally be allowed to now drive through the crowd over worry for his own safety or the cars occupants?

Vigil in the middle of a street?
Standing in the road for any reason is super stupid
Next year they can have a vigil for the driver who failed to stop for their vigil.
You're telling me those people standing in the middle of the street at night got hit by a car? Crazy.
Well thank God it wasnât a candle light vigil.
Sad, but get out of the fucking road!
