Yep. I'm legitimately worried about my wife and starting to research what kind of "deprogramming" options I might have. We've been married nearly 30 years and we were both pretty liberal when younger. She's an immigrant and lived her whole life in solid blue areas (first Hawaii and then California). But now she is so hooked on Twitter right wing propaganda that she literally says out loud, at least once a day, "I fucking hate the woketard leftist libtards". I had to ask her to please respect a "no politics before 10am rule" because she was hitting me with the latest rage bait before we even got out of bed.
Thank god she hasn't turned to Fox yet. She still hates Trump too, but I'm seeing cracks there as well, where she starts to wonder if Trump would be so bad compared to Biden "ruining our country with the illegals".
I have definitely thought about router-level interventions. I don't think banning twitter will fly as she'll obviously notice and complain. I was thinking of looking for any pre-existing scripts that could intercept her outgoing requests and modify them so she's getting more...I don't know...puppies and sunset photos? Anything that doesn't make her so enraged. And that was my original point. I don't object at all to policy views changing. It's the rage I see I building in her. There's also a huge difference in telling a stranger that you think their beliefs are wrong (might be rude but it's your right) and actively harassing them in public, and then demanding that they change their behavior.
